Great movie. 4K: average. HDR: average. Audio: average.

Not a big fan of Stanley Kubrick but Douglas carries the movie and the action as well tragic scenes carry well.

Solid Steelbook too! Kubrick is always a win, especially in 4k.

Got this as a gift for my brother. He enjoys this stuff.

Don't come here for great acting. This is far more of a technical marvel than anything else. Great work on the upgrade.

I had not seen the original before. I really did not enjoy it. But it was on sale so why not.

A decent kubrick film. Obvious that he didnt have co plated control over it but it was still good.

Unfortunately, I had to order and return the steelbook twice because they both came in damaged during shipping. I read that steelbooks in general damage easily if they are not shipped in a box. I would recommend picking up in store if you really want the steelbook, or otherwise try the regular packaging to save money and time.

This is certainly one of Kirk Douglas best roles. It sweet.

Pre-ordered and said I’d get on day of release. However, it didn’t arrive until two days after it was released. So what’s the point of the pre-ordering? This was the third time this has happened to me. I’m an elite plus member and was buying with rewards, so I’m wondering why I’ve gotten shafted three times.

An absolute classic. A shame they don't make movies like this today.

Initially directed by Anthony Mann, and finished by famed director Stanley Kubrick, 'Spartacus' is an exceptional film that can be appreciated in so many ways. Awesome Criterion release here, featuring loads of bonus material that was not available on the initial dvd release. Worth every penny for those who love this film. Highly Recommended!

Widescreen transfer here, but nothing in terms of bonus, so big fans may want to opt for the more lucrative, but also more expensive, special Criterion edition.

It is a timeless story of how slaves freed themselves and refused to live as slaves to the Empire or anyone else.

This is by fat the best show Ive ever seen. I think its wonderful and love it.

Where are the extras from the Criterion DVD? Why is the video so lacking in detail? Why is it acceptable for the Blu-Ray release of this film to be bested by both an earlier DVD (better overall presentation of film and extras) and an HD-DVD (better video)? Why would any manufacturer expect anyone to buy something this poor?
