I ended up buying it in a physical store in NYC and I could verify that it was not a toy. Maybe the price was not very consistent compared to the originals. Only wish it would have been available in more colors, but this was a great neutral color for our sons iPad. Has a slot for an Apple Pencil but it’s really tight hard to get pencil in and out.

It does a good job protecting the screen when not in use. It serves as a stand. I've got no complaints. I haven't dropped my ipad, so I cannot say if it'll protect it, but I hope to never find out!

It’s sturdy and has a clear backing. The flap that covers the camera comes off easily when you want to take pictures. I really like it and glad that I found it while it was on sale.
