It is protective, and as a stand, it works fairly well. The closure, quite stiff when new, was hard to fasten/unfasten at first, is breaking in and getting easier. When you close the case, it powers down the iPad, saving battery. The fold down corner protects the camera lens while still letting you use it.

I’ve tried many that just didn’t quite fit right, or were poorly made and/or both. The store rep pointed me to these for my kids’ 2019 iPad 7gens and they’ve been perfect for what they need them for during online school stuff. Literally zero cons so far and It’s A pretty ingenious yet simple design to make the iPads multi functional in setup per current demands. Kudos!!!
