Speck quality diminished after new ownership
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several Apple products currently protected by (REAL) Speck cases. (It looks like Speck was purchased in 2021) The one I bought recently was not built like the others. This new design only protects three sides of the iPad. The fourth side is open and so poorly constructed it's not even straight. The clip is also very rigid and looks like it could easily break with use. I give this a two star instead of a one star only because it's not made of silicone.

No portrait mode, really heavy and bulky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really heavy -- heavier than the iPad Mini itself! Defeats the purpose of getting a lightweight Mini. Too thick and bulky, and the cover doesn't close all the way so the iPad remains on (no wake/sleep feature). Dealbreaker for me is the fact that this only has landscape mode -- no portrait mode.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t recommend this for the following reasons: -There is no magnet at all and there is no “lift to wake”, so, when you lift the lid of the iPad cover, the iPad stays asleep until you tap it yourself to wake it up. -Camera hole: while it is nice there is a cover for the camera, it looks like these got manufactured before they knew the specs of the camera because it doesn’t fit the camera exactly which exposes some of the iPad when the flap is open. While these seem trivial, they were enough for me to return the case and instead hold onto a $15 one I got from another site that has neither of those issues. I paid the original price of $40 which is insane if you ask me for a case that does not wake the iPad when the lid is lifted.
