I bought the case the day the IPhone came out, so maybe I've had it for about 3months and change? I've dropped my phone just as any normal person would, the rubber keeps it from skidding across the room which is great, there's no harm to my phone. Unfortunately, the case doesn't last. I have the blue and grey one and the blue rubber has turned a greenish grey color with dirt. The corner rubber pieces that reach towards the back, seem to have sunk in to the plastic. The plastic and rubber on the bottom my the button completely cracked and I had to break it and cut the rubber. From placing the phone in my pocket, the rubber on the side peeled away and "bubbled" up, again which I had to cut to keep from continuing to peel. A friend of mine has had her case for less time and the same issue occured. If you want your phone safe, then by all means, buy it. If you don't want to have to replace your case every few months, avoid!! I am looking for a new case. I just wish other durable cases weren't as bulky.

This is a nice iPhone case that is quality built. It has a good feel when holding your iPhone for calls, texting, etc. Does not obscure the screen. All cutouts are in the right place. Easy to install iPhone into the case. The only thing I would say is tha it would be nice to have a small bit of rubber on the sides for firm gripping while texting or calling. Otherwise, it is a winner!

Our granddaughter picked out the case she wanted for the "new iPhone 5" she received for her birthday. It is very important that she has a good case to protect the phone. She has been very happy with it so far, like most young people she will like it until a different color or design catches her eye, but until then we know it is protected from accidents.

I've had this product over a month. Stays in my hand without having to grip. I have big hands and other phone cases would slide all around. I do not fear dropping it because of the grip. Also, it is very rugged and really protects the phone. Last of all, it looks great.

Like most have already said, this case scratches easily and shows it. For the price, I expect more. Yes, it's a phone case and it's supposed to protect the phone. For many people, though, appearance is important. A lot of people go through multiple cases to find the right one and the look they want. If we had the option not to use a case, then we wouldn't. However, we want to to keep our phones from getting scratched and dinged; so we look we look for a case that doesn't take away from the beautiful design of the phone. It's bad enough we have to use one. Scratches, scuffs, swirls, this case has them all. Also, this case does is not compatible with the Lightning adapter. It's too thick so you have to remove the phone every time you want to plug your phone in. I found this to be the case with a lot of ear-phone jacks too.

The other reviews about the scratching are spot on. I was an otter box man with my other iPhones but got tired of how bulky they are. This would have been the perfect alternative but the scratches were too much for me. Within an hour it looked like it had been abused. I ended up returning it and wouldn't buy it again. If the scratches weren't there this case would be five stars.

I prefer it over all other cases. It has an inner soft case and an outer hard case. My phone has fallen a few times and I can honestly say this case has protected it.

The phone protector serves its job as expected but it could be made a little bit more stylish and lighter.

I realize that no phone case is perfect, and this one is probably one of the best looking cases from the start. Sleak, stylish, slides in pocket easy. And I read the other reviews, hoping it wouldn't happen to mine. But just take my word. If it's going to bother you that the outside layer (which is like a soft rubberized coating) will ultimately wear off (and not evenly - it's wearing off in random spots - mostly on edges and sides, but some on the back), then do NOT buy this case. Underneath that coating is a smooth, shiny plastic (the core of the case). If that won't bother you, then go for it.

This case after tax is close to $40 and for that price you could spend a little bit more and get an Otterbox case or something much better than this. I bought the case on September 21st, the day the iPhone 5 came out and after two weeks it was already showing extensive scratching and discoloration to the sides and back of the case, as just about everyone else has stated. The worst part is that the rubber that is used on the side trim and top and side buttons was already starting to peel away and I have not dropped the case or mistreated it in any way as I take care of my possessions. I figure that if I'm spending $40 for a case that it would at least hold up for longer than 2 weeks. I'm not exactly sure what the others are talking about in terms of the lightning port not working when the case is on the phone or the earbuds not plugging in either because mine never had an issue like that. All in all the case is a snug fit, almost too tight, that's what she said! But in all seriousness the phone is actually somewhat difficult to get out of the case because it is such a tight fit. The case looks nice when brand new and like it's going to be a quality product but after taking the phone in and out of your pocket a couple dozen times it already shows a good amount of wear and tear. They should do away with the cheap rubber that they use on the buttons and sides and use something a little nicer with better longevity, especially after paying $40 for the case. I wouldn't recommend buying the case after the experience I had, I took mine back and bought the same version of the case that I had for my iPhone 4 for $17.50, which fits the iPhone 5. It's the Speck pixelskin hd case in black and it comes with a free screen protector. Happy hunting to all!
