Speck cases have continued to evolve, and provide people with the ability to protect their phones without spending a fortune, and without having a big bulky case, but yet provide decent protection. This case does that, but provides something more than any other case I've used - that is the grip to prevent you from dropping your phone in the first place! The case provides additional protection from falling on the corners, and wraps around the edges of the screen, in case it drops face down, but the grip, the grip is what most every case I've tried is missing. It gives you the ability to hold onto your phone, and the grip works great! Before you try something else, give this a try. Minimalist design, but with a grip to prevent slippage, and protection in case it does fall. What more could you want from a phone case? I'm quite pleased with this Speck Case and glad I had the chance to give it a try.....if you decide it isn't for you, take advance of the Best Buy return policy - you won't need to, but you can if you feel it is not for you.

I’ve used speck cases for all my iPhones over the years. Between having a larger phone and a new version of the type of speck case I’ve used previously I’m disappointed. The rubber grips yeild confidence. Unfortunately the rest of the case is incredibly slippery hard plastic compound. I was hoping it would break in over time. Now it’s a race between breaking my phone or the case softening.

This case is simple, but effective. So far I have not had any issues with it with my iPhone XR.

This case is fantastic! I easily installed it on my iPhone XR in seconds, and it has a very snug fit. The original case I bought for it was a cheap $10 case that just didn't feel like it was providing much protection. I have dropped my phone at least twice since installing it last weekend, and it held up to the reason I wanted it. The case has a little more grip than the cheaper one that I had, so getting it into and out of my pocket is a tad more difficult, but certainly not a show-stopper. The grip stands out a little but is not intrusive and looks good. There is a raised edge around the front of the screen to protect the screen from scratching or scraping my desk when it is face down.

I have used spec cases on several different phones over the years. This is the first time I have had the grippy rubber flake off. The case fits well but the quality is not as good as the older cases I’ve had.

The rubber is falling off the case after a few months and that why I cant give it a higher rating. This is still a pretty sturdy case and I do not worry about dropping my phone

I have always loved this product but his last one I bought seems to have a different material. It is not as "grippy".

Purchased mid July, now September. The case has withstood the few drops it has taken. However, the rubber on the backside is peeling far sooner than I expected. First Speck phone case. For the price you’re better going with competitors if you’re looking for one that will hold up and look better over time.

The grip of this case is the best feature. Feels very good and secure in my hand. But the grip does inhibit easy sliding into my shirt and jeans pockets a bit compared to my prior case. I feel it has good protection of the screen with the extra lip and while maybe not the most rugged as some cases, I'd feel confident in it protecting my iPhone XR from moderate drops. Weight was 1.34 oz when I measured. I'll round up from 4.5 stars to 5 :)

This case met my top criteria where it has to be easy to put on and take off while still fit well and protect the phone. The Grip case does both well. It's fairly slim as well for the amount of protection provided. I did a few small test drops from several inches onto some hard surfaces (don't have the nerve to go much further on purpose) and the case wasn't fazed in the least. The grip ribs on the back make for a nice firm grip while not getting in the way for putting into pockets. Overall, I would call this one a winner!
