Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used Speck cases for a long time and this series of case has always been my go to case for when i first get a new phone. I like the simplistic styling, and even though it doesn't have a lot of spot that are "grippy", it still feel good to hold. I wish they had more color options though. Definitely would still recommend this case for daily use as it does protect well with everyday drops. Not sure how much I'd trust it with more than a 5ft drop since I've not dropped it from that high, but anything under that it has seemed to do well.

The frame of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is soft painted aluminum which is easily gouged in addition to easily being scratched. The large cutout for the cameras with no seal invites the ingress of grit and is unappealing. I also deduct stars for removing the rubber grip from the original version and substituting uncomfortable ridges in the hard plastic. It's no longer a grip case, no longer comfortable to hold. The back is slippery inviting slides and falls. It's a $5 case at best. The Samung OEM plain leather case has none of these issues. For drop protection there are better options.
