I've thankfully only had one drop onto carpet from a bed, but the case and laptop were both totally fine. Also, if it gets cold then the case helps protect your hands from that.

Good for protecting mac when traveling

Great if you are traveling around with macbook pro. Would protect it from a small drop whereas normally one would destroy or dent the unit. Not recommended for permanent installation as it make hardware retain more heat and top and bottom somewhat restricts cooling out the hinge. Much better quality that the InCase equivalent which crack within a month or two.

Great Laptop Protection

The corner of the case is the only broken part resulting from that drop. I will always place my laptop in a Speck case for protection. It is light weight and comes in a variety of colors and designs.
