Typical James Bond film. Not the best Daniel Craig Bomd flicks but better than most of the genre

I liked this entry in the Craig Bond era but it's no Skyfall. Blu ray looks great and some great immersive HD audio here, it should impress your friends. Recommended only if you're a die-hard Bond fan.

    Another Epic 007 Outing

Director Sam Mendes did it again, once more raising the bar very, very high for whatever directors may follow him in helming subsequent Bond films. In tandem with the writers and producers, he turned a series that had devolved into abject silliness with the final two Brosnan-starring films into prestige pictures. Like "Skyfall," "Spectre" is an epic Bond outing full of thrilling action, mind-boggling stunts, lush and classy cinematography, beautiful and strong women, clever espionage, smart writing, and -- of course -- the charismatic lead performance of Daniel Craig. I was simply floored and thrilled with "Spectre." The only drawback: the awful, shrill, off-putting, whiny, falsetto-drenched title song by Sam Smith; I have to mute the sound whenever it plays over the main title sequence.

    Solid Steel Book

Sometimes the "less is more" theme applies well to certain scenarios. In the (literal) case of this steel book, it's beautiful. The all-black glossy case with "Spectre" spelled out, along with the embossed hole right where the shattered glass graphics lie, makes for a slick & very classy-looking case. The BR disc itself is solid HD quality, great picture, crisp sound, all the best that BR has to offer. Makes a great addition to the 007 collection, especially when paired with the other (and equally classy) 007 steel books in existence. Great job on this one.

All of the elements of a James Bond

This movie has all of the elements of a James bond movie that I expect and are looking for when I sit down to watch the double O go to work. It starts out with a slick little interaction that seems somewhat disjointed from the expected story but like usual will tie into the main plot. The locations were as expected very pretty or at least interesting. Like usual this bond has minimal gadgets, or at least "typical" toys and since I started my Bond watching days on the Moore run of films I do miss the more outlandish of them.

Good, but not as great as Skyfall

I've really enjoyed Daniel Craig as Bond through the four films he has starred in so far. Skyfall was easily the best movie in the series and Spectre, while good, doesn't quite each the heights on its predecessor. Spectre has great action and a great supporting cast, but ultimately falls under the weight of trying to tie all the previous movies together into a single story. There is just too much ground to cover in one movie and it suffers from trying to tell too many stories at once. It's still a good movie, just not as good as it could have been.

    Good movie. Amazing action scenes.

James Bond fans will certainly like this film. I personally prefer older films (starring Roger Moore, Sean Connery and even more contemporary Pierce Brosnan 007 movies), which have more humor, wit, and whose stories are less "dark" than the more recent Daniel Craig films. Those older films are worth seeing again and again. In contrast, the Daniel Craig films are worth seeing -- but only once. It's not Craig's fault -- his acting is superb. I just prefer the old 007 genre. If you like amazing "action" sequences, then you won't be disappointed.

    Spectre- great movie, horrible DVD

I absolutely loved this movie, Personally I think it's a better movie than Skyfall, which had marvelous photography but a staid overbloated story. Now for some reason the Spectre DVD has a defect. The scene where Bond is being questioned by M after the Mexico City incident all of a sudden has a skip, which goes straight to him walking with Moneypenny outside MI6, I tried exchanging it and apparently all DVDs have this same skip, Utterly disappointed in Sony for this. No quality control??

First, let me say that I am a huge James Bond fan, AND I think Daniel Craig is the best James Bond of the entire franchise, so I always look forward to a new Bond movie and SPECTRE doesn't disappoint. As usual, the casting is excellent, and the action is second to none. And while this movie moves along at a good clip and never drags, there are times when it feels like it's VERY long. In any event, a highly recommended action/espionage movie. You won't be disappointed.
