Although Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's Blu-ray release has been "demoted" to DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (the UHD contains a Dolby Atmos track), there's no reason for Blu-ray-only fans to feel jilted, that they are receiving an inferior product. On the contrary, this is a five-star soundtrack, a fully-realized and perfectly harmonious presentation of sheer sonic bliss. The track's rather prodigious bass is evident from the opening title logos, as is its intensive surround usage and flowing width. Environmental din is fully realized and completely immersive, with precisely positioned and seamlessly maneuvering details that completely pull the listener into any location, from school hallways and classrooms to bustling city streets or science labs. Every scene and location has something on offer to completely draw the listener in. Musical delivery is first-rate. Full-stage width, a healthy and supportive surround integration, and a perfectly complimentary low end help to deliver every note with perfect clarity and attention to every detail. Action scenes are prodigious. Swooping sound effects, fully utilized surround components, and deep and well integrated bass all come harmoniously together to deliver incredibly impressive, hold-onto-the-seat sonic mayhem. Of course, dialogue is clear and center-focused and well prioritized. Even without active top channels -- which do add a bit more immersion in the Atmos track -- this one is perfectly capable of delivering the full Into the Spider-Verse sonic experience. They don't come any better than this.

    The BEST Spider-Man Movie

Who ever would’ve thought that an Animated Spider-Man movie would end up being truer to the character of Spider-Man than any of the live action movies? But Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse succeeds where all of the other Spider-Man movies have only gotten certain aspects of the character right, but not all of them. The movie is even paced, quick witted, and fun. Packed with tons of interesting characters, the movie is a complete joy from beginning to end, brilliantly tackling the origins/introductions issue that many origin movies have by making the intros brief and to the point and doesn’t make the common mistake of drawing it out. They other great thing with this release is the plethora of special features including cast/crew interviews, creator commentary, an Alternate Universe mode which is basically an alternate director’s cut of the film with animatics used for the extra scenes, and a digital copy. If you loved playing Spider-Man PS4 and want to enjoy the this awesome run of Spider-Man focused media, then definitely pick up Into The Spiderverse. The 4K presentation is well worth the expense, especially if yo have a surround sound setup as the sound effects and music definitely benefit and offer a hugely immersive experience.

GET IT IN 4K!!! THE COLORS AND THE SOUND!!

GET IT IN 4K!!! THE COLORS AND THE SOUND!! I originally bought the 1080p HD version on Prime Video, and I was so blown away by this movie that I purchased it a second time in 4K just to get the most out of the stunning animated visuals. If I had known how good this was going to be, I would've just sprung for 4K in the first place. No matter the resolution, it looks amazing either way, but 4K really does the animation justice. A lot of people have been complaining about the animation style saying it's too blurry, too jerky and some even saying it looks unfinished or like viewing a 3D movie with no glasses. I disagree. This was an astonishing stylistic choice, and it paid off giving it a unique and experimental style of animation that feels and looks more like a comic book than any other comic book movie. I'm really glad it won the well deserved Oscar for best animation. As much as I liked 'Incredibles 2' and 'Isle of Dogs'...'Spider-man Into the Spider-verse' exceeded every expectation. Miles Morales is such a breath of fresh air as 'Spider-man.' Every Spider-Person and Spider-Pig are all such welcome additions that really elevate the story and characters. This movie does such a good job of making you care about the characters, and most of you will love every moment of this lovingly crafted work of art that was created by true fans of Spider-man.

A Different Spin on a Familiar Tale...

Let me just start by saying I am a HUGE Spider-Man fan- so I went into this film with very high expectations. Needless to say, it was everything I had been told it was- thrilling, emotionally satisfying, inventive, new, different, and completely refreshing. First, the animation was absolutely wonderful: unique, engaging, and thrilling. Second, the voiceover work is marvelous. Third, the tale of Miles Morales is told in a way that captivates and keeps the viewer's attention throughout. Lastly, if you're a Spidey fan...you won't be disappointed. Sure, they turn things "on their head" somewhat...but that's part of what makes the film so incredible. It's partly what you want and expect while also being something new and UNEXPECTED. As for the 4K BluRay: it's exceptional. Colors are lush, vibrant, and gorgeous. Detail is crisp and pops off the screen. Sound is encompassing and exciting. Highly recommended! THWIPP! 'Nuff said!

    Great Movie, Great 4k HDR

For whatever reason, if you watched the spiderman into the spider verse trailer on the Venom 4k disc, you were presented with the 4k Dolby vision version which was incredible. Fast forward to its 4k disc release and Dolby vision has been dropped in favor for HDR. Thats not to say the image isn't BREATHTAKING but if Dolby vision is so called the best, and most newer sony TV's support it, why not use it on the into the spider verse movie. With that out of the way, this movie is as enjoyable as it is incredible. These graphics were made for the extra pixels 4k resolutions affords and with HDR, everything is bright and crisp. Definitely reference quality stuff compared to the other fake 4k discs on the market. Buy this!

    Best Spider-man story

This has to be the best interpretation of Spider-Man on film. Visually it looks amazing. You can see the comic book style dots, the cross hatching,   certain characters have their distinct art style. It feels like a comic book. The soundtrack is amazing. It fits so well with the tone and message of the movie. The story is so great. A lot of heart went into it and the movie shows. Even the smallest details. If you pay close attention you will see that Miles moves at 2 frames while Peter moves at 1 frame. This makes Miles movements a bit janky and shows his inexperience. Even the parallels. Compare the first time and last time Miles sees the Peter suit. It just works so well. It changes stuff from the comics but overall it stays true to the character. I recomend reading ultimate Spider-Man. It's one of, if not, the best Spider-Man story out there. Just wish it was in 3D

As someone who usually finds themselves shrugging after finally viewing those universally loved films, I do, despite enjoying SpiderVerse, find myself questioning exactly why it surpassed enjoyment into outright love. Make no mistake, there is much to enjoy here, from beginning to end, but I simply didn't find it compelling enough to rewatch it immediately, which is, to me, the sign of something truly magical. The story itself is excellent, and Miles Morales is a wonderful character to take up the "spider-mantle". The problem is that of the two biggest emotional "tugs," the first: (the death of his universe's Spider-Man,) goes from an honest attempt at pulling at the heartstrings to throwaway catalyst far too quickly, as Peter "B" Parker arrives quickly to take on the mentor role (and whose own story occasionally outshines Morales') and makes the blow feel lessened. The second of these emotional attachments takes place, and when it does, you realize that character has had the majority of his narrative related to you via others' words rather than the character's actions being shown to you and allowing you to form your own attachment. You're told to care about him far more than seeing reasons to care about him, and when his reveal takes place, you're seeing Miles' reaction rather than feeling it along with him. In fact, the biggest opportunity to feel that character is essentially a music video- a gorgeous feast for your eyes and ears, but a missed opportunity to fill your heart. Despite so many missed chances, the storytelling is solid, it's just something I expected more from after so many glowing reviews. One thing that CANNOT be taken away from SpiderVerse is its art and style. Visually, SpiderVerse is absolutely stunning. It misses no chances to leave you amazed, not just in its originality, but also in its unique takes on what you'd expect from the Marvel characters. It's gorgeous, it's beautiful, it's something you must see, and it's ABSOLUTELY best viewed in 4K. It deserved every recognition it garnered, including its Academy Award. Worth adding to your library, but maybe set your expectations a bit lower than that of what the critics have stated.

If you're looking at this you probably already know something about this movie. You’ve likely heard about the amazing animation, the incredible story, and its loving treatment of the character Spider-Man. This product shows all that on a massive 80" television in perfect clarity. The audio balance didn't need any adjustment. The multiverse mode is delightful, offering some very cool scenes that might have been. A very excellent DVD.

I'll be upfront and admit that I am not a huge fan of the Miles Morales character. And that's not fair to him. I feel he should have been made into his own unique character instead of just plopping him into an already existing character. I agree there needs to be more diversity, but simply race and/or gender swapping existing characters does nothing except anger the old fans and make the target demographic feel they are being patronized (Oh, I see...you want my money, but not enough to actually make something new and unique for me). That said, the movie is excellent. I really enjoyed it. The art is really great (I really liked the different styles used to represent the different parts of the spiderverse). For the most part, the movie stayed on pace and delivered what was needed.

Though I am very over the whole Marvel Multi-verse concept, the Spider-verse is a fresh take on it and is done extremely well. The movie pulls you in very quickly and the upbeat flow keeps you intrigued. So much setup happened in the first 30 mins that I was sure I was over an hour in. The visual are incredible. Enough said. Its gorgeous. Cannot wait to see the sequel very soon!

This isn't only one of the best animated films to deservedly win an Oscar for that title, but it's also one of the best Comic Book adaptations ever made while also being just a great film all around. As one of my favorite movies of 2018, I'm glad to report that this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray lives up to the film's reputation. Featuring a bright bold and colorfully beautiful 2160p transfer with HDR10, a thunderingly impressive Dolby Atmos mix and a swath of excellent informative bonus features, my only complaint is that we have to wait for the sequel. This 4K UHD disc is a Must Own for comic fans, film fans, and 4K UHD fans!

A breath of fresh air in the over-crowded superhero/comic book movie genre. The team behind this made so many fantastic choices that are just spectacular. The visuals are beautiful and the characters are funny and fun to hang out with. It’s only flaw was that it could of spent more time with some of these characters as humans, instead of trying to follow formulas for creating “emotional arcs” in superhero/comic book films. The 4K UHD presentation on this disc of an already beautiful looking film is quite good, not perfect as it’s an upscaled image but it’s still just as crisp and breathtaking as it was in the theatre.

The animation is just top notch. It as if the comic book leaped off the pages. I've seen practically all super hero films to include the DC animated ones. This feels as if they took comic books and Playstation animation and just came up with this perfect look. And the story is great.. the pacing is so wonderful. It is able to tell the story.. and an origin without boring us to tears like Zack Snyder has done in the DC universe. The story is quiet touching. And it allows us to have a pretty interesting Spider Man in Miles WITHOUT thrashing or having a Peter Parker like experience. Plus our the villains are so well done..

First off, purely from a Spider Man movie perspective, this is a great movie that contains some fun moments and a heartwarming story. The voice acting is top notch, the motivations clear, the story well written and sincere. The visuals are absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD though. This is easily the best looking animated movie I have ever seen. It's hard to compare it to something like a Pixar movie, since the style is so wholly unique and mesmerizing, but for my money I would love to see more of this. The sountrack is also a high point, with amazing use of hip hop beats, and bass. Go watch this movie, now.
