Japanese movies have such imaginative storytelling.

This is an excellent addition to any collector’s library - both in terms of how they produced the Steelbook as an item, and the movie itself. If I had to recommend one Studio Ghibli movie to someone, I would recommend Spirited Away. Put simply it is a masterpiece. In a weird way, it’s a classic coming of age story about how one young girl must navigate the challenges of getting older and having to fend for herself. The protagonist gets separated from her parents and embarks on a journey in the spirit world where there is no well defined right or wrong, just different obstacles she must overcome. The art style is captivating, as is the music. The quality of the animation in particular is stunning, it’s so smooth you could cut a butter knife through it. The case itself has a simple, classic image of the “No Face” character, while the interior shows our protagonist, 10 year old Chihiro, kneeling against a backdrop of chaos. Inside the case is a small pamphlet type book with short reflections by the producer and director of the movie, which is a nice bonus. I heartily recommend you get this, especially if you haven’t seen the movie before.

I absolutely love spirited away, I love the amazing and beautiful story and art and dedication that went into making this film, I love the adventure Chihiro the young girl, the main character has, and when Chihiro and her mother and father both wander into an abandoned amusement park her mother and father are turned into pigs and she meets haku and haku explains to her that this is a resort for supernatural beings that take a break from the earthly realm and that she must work there to free herself and her parents, I also love the friendship she has with haku there was definitely tremendous talent that went into making this beautiful movie

Was excited to finally get this for a good price, and especially glad to get the original packaging and not the Disney re-release. This matches with the rest of my collection and the extra book inside is a great addition. Aside from that, the movie itself is one of the better Ghibli movies, I think. The animation is great, the plot is kind of dark, but pretty interesting and it isn't nearly as dry and uneventful as some of the others.

This film is a true classic of Japanese animation. It is a little like Alice in Wonderland. It teaches a good work ethic and is empowering for girls. Its main character must work very hard to be able to return home with her parents after going through "magic" arches. I won't say more and give anything away! It might be a little frightening for small children. This is not a Disney cartoon! It won an Academy Award for animated films 20 years ago. It is a great first film as an entry into the genre of Japanese anime. Once you see it, you'll be looking for more films from Studio Ghibli.

I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like this movie so I’m sure film speaks for itself. All the Miyazaki steel book releases look similar so it makes a really nice matching set if you purchase others too.

This is a fantastic animated feature that people of all ages can enjoy. The animation itself is stunning, the story is like something out of a fairy tale, and the English dub is superb. There's even behind the scenes on this Blu-ray edition that talks about the American actors as well as some of the forethought that went into creating the English version to make it relatable to American audiences. Fantastic purchase. Hands down.

This was one of my favorite movies as a child and I finally bit the bullet and bought it while it was on sale because I knew it was never going to be below $15. I’m not sure but it seems like it has been remastered in the colors are so much brighter and the sounds are now coming through different stereos on the TV so it really sucks you into the experience

Got it shipped and the case came in dented. Not the end of the world bad, but a massive bummer when its a collectible. Cant return it either because I opened the seal before I noticed ):

I walked into the store not expecting to find this. The second I saw the mask spirit on the cover, I knew I wanted this. I knew what the contenta were. I picked it up.

If you haven't seen Spirited Away or any of Hiyao Miyazaki's films, you are truly missing out. The steelbook case is beautiful and a must-have for Miyazaki fans!

Please keep physical alive! We need a source to get movies in the original aspect ratio, streaming services crop!

I watched this as a young man (14-15 year old) and now can share this beautiful story telling movie masterpiece to my kids!. No-face and all the other characters are just fun to watch and leaves you wanting to know more as the story continues. The soundtrack, voice acting and animation are just amazing!

I have never seen any ghibli films and watched this in theaters for the first time, and was extremely impressed and the animation, story, characters, and world building. after seeing this in theaters I had to get this on bluray, please see this film at least once in your life.

These studio jhibli movies are the best anime movies I’ve seen. Watched them as a kid and still love them now

Studio Ghibli continues to surprise me the studio was recommended to me by a friend and I have not regretted purchasing and watching any of their films they all are beautifully animated but each have their own unique style and story to separate them from one another.
