What a magical world. Completely different, yet strangely accessible. This is animation, not CGI or other computerized medium - and there is certainly something to be said about that. This movie is not for small children, who probably won't get scared but probably will get confused. Great for adults who are young at heart though!

Studio Ghibli seriously makes some of the best animation out there! Spirited away is among one of my top faves by Hayo Miyazaki along w/ Howls moving castle & Princess Monokoe :) Also I'm in my 20s without kids & still enjoy watching this movie from time to time! Defiantly a good family movie that won't have the parent bored to death haha ;) 6/5 stars get it NOW you will not be disappointed I promise! ;)

Spirited Away falls into a range for older children more than younger. It covers a lot of emotional situations, a few dark themes, but is eye candy throughout. If I had to say a shortcoming, its that a Western audience isn't likely to get many of the cultural references and nods, and so a few things won't make sense, but not in a way that detracts.

Love this movie. Major upgrade over the DVD. Awesome!

I purchased this DVD for my daughter after she saw several people in character from this movie at a local Comic-Con. I didn't plan to purchase this in store the day I did, because honestly, I didn't expect to find it in store but Best Buy has a small section devoted to Anime. The movie itself is a sweet movie for children of all ages, and it always nice to see child-friendly anime!

Spirited Away is one of the best films from Hayao Miyazaki. It tells the story of Chihiro, a young girl whose life is uprooted when her parents decide to move her from everything she's known. She ends up on an absolutely magical journey where she matures as she goes through many trials. Great fun, life lessons, and amazing animation to entertain people of all ages.

Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki just do incredible things. One of the best of the best in the genre my whole family LOVES this movie, as well as many other Ghibli films. Spirited Away is full of symbolism and very cinematic moments the voice acting is excellent in either language and the art is very creative and beautiful. Touching serious movie, not a childrens animation.

Never seen the movie so thought I would pick it up.

First and foremost, this is the best animated film I have ever seen from an aesthetic standpoint. The quality of this blueray is unreal -- and really compliments the Studio Ghibli classic. My wife (who watched this for her first time ever with me) was blown away by how captivating the color spectrum and colors were. Can not recommend enough.

Beautiful and scary in all the ways familiar to those who grew up with 80s fantasy films like The Dark Crystal and The Secret of NIMH, and an enthralling Alice in Wonderland coming-of-age story with a unique anime twist one could only credit to Hayao Miyazaki.

The wait for a US release of Spirited Away on Blu-ray has been worth it. The picture/audio quality on this disc is stunning, worthy of this modern classic. The extras are mostly imported from the previous DVD release, but with this film, it's almost more valuable to leave its behind-the-scenes details to your own imagination. A must-buy for fans of the film, animation, and cinema.

I bought this cause it was my first Studio Ghibli movie. This movie helped me in to the world of Ghibli. I don't think I would be the person I am today with out this movie in my collection. Love the fact that it is Blue ray and DVD I can take the DVD with me when I travel so I can watch on my laptop and enjoy the awesomeness of Blue ray at home on my big screen TV.

It’s Studio Ghibli it’s a masterpeace! This is the most perfect rendition of this movie to watch I’ve had it on dvd and this Blu-ray is stunning both in audio and video department! This is the real scan of the film buy this one! I’ve watched the Disney version, skip it! Best Buy had a great price! Win win! Studio Ghibli doesn’t fail!

So even though the main character is a little kid, it is so not just for kids. I'm in my 20s and I love this movie. First time I saw it was in little parts on youtube. I was originally just curious and was only going to watch the first little part, but I kept going and couldn't seem to stop til I finished the whole movie, and then I decided I needed to buy it. So yeah great movie.

I loved this movie as a child but was never able to get it for a decent price because most places sold it for over $35! But when they released it to the west on blu-ray, I had to get it! It's an amazing movie made by Studio Ghibli once again that is definitely something that should be seen at least once! Teaches the values of handwork and such and is a great story overall.

This is the film that started my love of anything Studio Ghibli and/or Hayao Miyazaki. A wonderful fantasy adventure full of self exploration and discovery. While the film is kid-friendly, be aware there is a little blood and a few somewhat scary or unsettling scenes. This particular Blu-ray release has a fairly standard course of bonus features.

This movie is great. It's exciting and interesting throughout the whole movie, visually appealing, and has a multitude of interesting moral themes. I love hayao miyazaki, and this is definitely one of his best!

Spirited Away is one of the greatest animated films of all time. The story is very creative and original. The art work is outstanding. The movie has humor, drama, despair, hope, and heart. The music is fantastic too! It looks and sounds great on the blu-ray steelbook.

as studio ghibli fan. this is a must for collector. nice steelbook with a dvd and blu ray. no digital no problem. this movie started it all, an academy award animation. every time i watch this its gives me more meaning. and truly amaze how genius the director is.
