ends up being something of a trilogy with unbreakable first, split second and glass tying them together third. not a bad series of movies.

If you saw Unbreakable and enjoyed it, then strap in and get ready for a thrilling ride! Split is the second of a nail biting trilogy that will push you to the edge of your seat and screaming for more. James McAvoy should receive 24 pay checks for playing as many characters flawlessly. His distinct individual personas had me amazed and impressed on how this actor could so smoothly transition through so many characters from a likeable 11 year old boy to a refined woman and ultimately a terrifying killer. McCovey achieved this with literally no make-up or props. His talent clearly shined as he became each person strictly by facial expressions, body language and with his great acting skills. Being a horror movie buff going way back to the days of Boris Karloff's Frankenstein, I rate this movie as one of my top 10 favorites.

I approached this film with real trepidation. I was a fan of M. Night Shyamalan's initial work but subsequent efforts seemed to be borrowing heavily from the early successes. Here he seems to be learning from his failures and accepted the fact that you can't catch lightning in a bottle twice. "Split" is unabashedly a homage to Alfred Hitchcock most notably "Psycho". This is not to suggest that it is a rip-off because Shyamalan takes some of the Master's themes and expands upon them with his own flourishes. There is a constant air of menace and dread that permeates the film that doesn't let go of you even until the bitter end. In a career making turn James McAvoy fascinates as Kevin, a man suffering from a multiple personality disorder. Your eyes can't leave McAvoy as he assays the different aspects of Kevin's persona and though capable of truly heinous actions you remain sympathetic to him. As a depression sufferer I was leery of the film exploiting mental illness but Shyamalan's script is very smart and empathetic. A film that resonates long after it's over.

Great movie. A must see. But have to watch them in order. Unbreakable then split then glass.

wanted to have a 4K version of this film had the bluray pleased with the picture & sound

I bought this on sale for $9.99 which is a good deal considering it includes the digital copy.

Watch "Unbreakable" then this film before "Glass" and it makes more sense! McAvoy gives a good performance as split personality lunatic.

What a talented actor! I loved how he played all those different personalities so uniquely!
