*Potential spoilers* Split is M. Night Shyamalan at his best. The (surprising) second chapter to a planned trilogy is a must see for fans of horror/thrillers/suspense films. James McAvoy’s performance is one of the finest in modern acting. He transitions between each personality flawlessly and you feel like you’re watching multiple actors. This Blu-ray, DVD, digital pack covers all viewing options and was priced well.

    My Review of Split

Split is great movie that continues from Unbreakable. Whoever created it did a great job tying it in at the end when Bruce Willis says "Mr. Glass". The storyline of Split is easy to follow, and James Macavoy gives a great performance. I enjoy going over it in my memories. Do yourself a favor and watch Split.

'Split' is one of the best thrillers in years

    M. Night Shyamalan is going through a bit of a resurgence lately and "Split" is one of his best films in years. This is due mostly to a signature performance by James McAvoy as a person with multiple personalities. The movie sets up the story beautifully and contains a surprising climax. Also, don't stop when you see the initial credits. There is a mid-credits sequence that's sure to please any fan of Shyamalan's earlier films.

Glass is coming out, and I wanted to see what the hype was about. Difficult to get into it at first, but was entertaining enough. Weird to see Professor X in this role.

    Finally, a return to form...

for M. Night Shamaylan. After the success of The Sixth Sense, his movies have failed to replicate the success of his first film (though I liked Unbreakable). This movie was excellently written, directed, and acted. James McAvoy should have garnered an Academy Award nomination for this film. And though this film has been out for two years now, I won't spoil the ending...but it is a BIG PAYOFF.

The return of M. Night Shyamalan

Been missing Shyamalan's story-telling (ie writing & directing) ever since "The Sixth Sense", "Unbreakable", and "Signs" and this movie is nearly a return to those. (Not that there weren't other Shyamalan movies in there, but they missed the mark.) This movie is as good as those in all artistic ways (eg acting, plot), but I say "nearly" because the older movies forwent any horror genre elements (eg blood and guts, whether on-screen or alluded to) and simply relied on suspense and mystery (which I also prefer).

The main characters played their parts perfectly. At first, I thought the lead girl wasn't gonna be all that interesting, but she's part of the reason the movie was as good as it was. As for James McAvoy, he pulled off some wonderful acting. ...Even though the movie was good, I kinda felt that something was missing from it. Maybe it was just me that felt that way, but it felt a little anti-climactic to me. I understand the movie completely, but it just felt like it should have had more to it, or something. Regardless though, it still was good.

    Disassociative Identity Disorder done right

James McAvoy did an amazing job in portraying a person living with a disassociative disorder. He was somehow still charismatic and I almost rooted for him due to understanding that he was ill and just needed mental help which is hard to find in our country. However, the ending was too far fetched and would have been a million times better if it could have been a more plausible outcome. Even the Sixth Senses ending was more plausible than this film’s. That aside, the film is still amazing based on McAvoy’s performance alone.

Expected more than what this movie delivered. McAvoy does a good job portraying the personalities showcased in the movie but the movie just fell flat on suspense.

Been Waiting For This Title on 4K UHD + Good Price

This one surprised me when I originally watched it. I wasn't expecting to like the movie so much. Then my conundrum was why no US release on 4K UHD Blu-ray in the US? I ended up pre-ordering overseas, but then a US date got announced and I waited. Unbelievably Best Buy had this title on sale for $17.50 the day it was released. Take my money Best Buy! I was happy to buy such a great 2017 title on the 4K format!

Is it a spoiler by now to reveal the end? Isn't the cat out of the bag? Well to be kind I will keep it private. The movie is great even without the twist. The special features are good too but it would nbe nice if they explored the science of multiple personalities cause I wonder how much of the science in the movie is true. It feels reasonable I just dont know. A great film and the return of a great director.

    Split

I'd give this movie 4.5 if I could. This is an M. Night Shyamalan movie, so it will carry that tone for those that are familiar with his work. Split is a psychological horror, which is set in the same universe as his earlier film Unbreakable. The production was good and the acting was really notable in this movie, headed up by James McAvoy (Joaquin Phoenix was originally slated for the lead, but an agreement couldn't be reached - after watching I just couldn't imagine Joaquin pulling off the role like McAvoy).

Mcavoy does an amazing job in this film playing multiple characters. The rest of the cast does well and this movie is just so very well done. Yes it does get a little wacky with things that happen but its still within reason and the scope of the film. M. Night really redeemed himself and the wonderful plot continuation from one of his previous movies was a great teaser for things to come.

It's technically a sequel to Unbreakable. I have to say that I didn't like this quite as much as Unbreakable, but it is interesting and suspenseful.

Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all of the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him -- as well as everyone around him -- as the walls between his compartments shatter. Great film worth at least one viewing.

Love this movie. I bought it for my sister. The first time I saw this movie I nearly jumped out my skin in the theater, and that was more than enough for me to like it. So of course, I bought it for my sister as she loves the movie that much. And not only that, it's blu-ray.

This is by far one of the best movies from this producer. I love the twists and turns this movie has in it and I don't want to give out the details, but all these different personalities are phenomenal, even tying it in further at the very end. I really hope this producer makes a sequel, yet you'll have to watch it to find out for yourself exactly what I mean. For sure worth the watch.

    Shyamalan's Return to Form

Split was not a film I was excited about, so much so that I skipped it in theaters altogether. But, from what I heard about it, I knew I had to see it. I'm glad that I gave it a chance, because I enjoyed it quite a bit. James McAvoy is always great, and relative newcomer Anya Taylor-Joy is great here as well. This is M. Night Shyamalan's best movie since Signs, in my opinion. Split is well worth seeing if you like his earlier films, and a must-buy Blu-ray if you saw and liked the film.
