Based on a true story, the movie gives a reasonably good account of what apparently actually happened. The storyline seemed to be slow in developing but the acting keeps you interested.

Excellent flick on a very touchy subject that opens peoples eyes to what is going on in the world. Well done and had to buy it especially since it won the Academy Award for Best Picture!

A very interesting movie. I was shocked and amazed the shear number of priests that were involved in the scandal. Really, really sad they shuffled them around so it took way to long to stop it.

Have watched this film numerous times. It's got everything. Excellent direction, fine acting and a true story that had to be told.

The subject of this film, child abuse by Roman Catholic priests, is very sad. This version of events is extraordinary. Mark Ruffalo was deservedly nominated for an Academy Award.

I'd recommend the blu-ray just for the movie itself, which is a modern classic, and one of the better movies to win best picture in recent decades if you ask me. I don't think it's a movie I'll be rewatching much, but it's worth having just because it's a great piece of movie-making.

A powerful and compelling true story about the importance of The Fourth Estate (i.e. a free press) in investigating and reporting misdeeds in one of society's most cherished institutions.

Spotlight deserved to win best picture & it did. One of my favorite movies of the year. The movie is based on actual events and was really well told. The casting was perfect and believable.

This movie should have done better at the box office. Amazing performances from the entire cast, a riveting storyline, & superb direction earned this movie the Oscar for Movie of the Year!

The subject matter of this based on fact movie is difficult for some to admit but it is a necessary exposure in a mostly humane society. The acting is solid and the movie is engrossing.

Didn't think this would be one I would want to watch again as it is a hard watch but it is so well made that I will definitely revisit it to take in the incredible writing and acting.

This is a movie that gave me some insight about that controversy of child molestation in the catholic church. This is a well done movie and worthy of being the Best Picture of the year.

Subject matter in the movie is not pleasant, but the acting is great and the way the story is told really puts you in he newsroom as they break the scandal open. Highly recommend

You have to wonder how this was allowed to go on for so long within the church, and they did almost nothing about it. Just like Watergate, it took the press to bring out the story.

I watched it the night before oscar award was announced and I felt it is better than Revenant & Mad Max. Very realistic portrayal of a real event, Great acting from the ensemble.

Awesome story, liked that they stuck to what really happened and not fabricated things to make it seem more dramatic. The source material should be more than attention grabbing

Superb acting, and what an incredible story! The fact that this went on so long and was covered up by so many people shows why we have so many failures in our "institutions"!

Good movie about child abuse cases in the catholic church. Very good investigating reporting and also won best picture. I still think the Revenant should have won the Oscar.
