It is so worth it if you do not have a dishwasher and hate washing dishes. It was a little bigger than expected, but it runs decently quiet, and it didn't make the water bill or the electric bill go up so that was cool.

A fantastic appliance! Easily plumbed in!

What a fantastic appliance!. We hadn’t had a dishwasher in 10 years and because installing one would have required redoing kitchen cabinetry, I went looking for something that would fit inside an IKEA 24” kitchen cabinet (Akurum/Faktum or Section). And this one fits *perfectly*, with about 1/4 inch on each side. Slide an shelf above it and it looks nearly built-in. Per "Reviewed Best Right Now Countertop Dishwasher" article [https://www.reviewed.com/dishwashers/best-right-now/the-best-countertop-dishwashers]: every single one of these countertop units, no matter brand label, is manufactured by the *exact same company* (Midea) and are functionally identical, excepting minor differences in interface and aesthetic. And *contrary* to the overall marketing material and internet searching, these countertop units can absolutely be plumbed in permanently like any normal full sized unit, directly connected to both hot water supply and drain/disposal inlets. It’s a medium sort of job, but the world doesn’t make it easy, since finding the relevant info is nearly impossible even in the age of Google. Best advice is look up RV or marine (boat) dishwashers. They’re the same units but are very often plumbed in. Since this vexed me a great degree during my research, presenting my breakdown below to aid future installers. ---------- Permanent Plumbing Countertop Dishwasher Notes: **Use thread tape to ensure leak free use at back of dishwasher connections, and probably at others too. (Measure line and tube lengths needed keeping in mind when you have to pull out the DW and tighten things before pushing it into place) - The drain outlet on the back of the unit is 1/2 inch OD MPT/NPT, plastic. A 1/2” FPT x 1/2” (or 5/8”) barbed adapter will connect to most ridged dishwasher drain tubes or a 5/8” heater hose from an auto supply shop. You don’t need lead-free rated brass here, since it’s a drain-out. Plastic will also work. For reference, the ID of the drain tube included is 1/2” and 4’ long. But the pump is more than capable of pushing the water 6 feet through a 5/8” hose to the drain at the sink, with a high loop or an air gap. *I would NOT use a PEX line for drains, as it doesn’t bend enough to fit behind the unit in a standard cabinet or to the disposal/drain line under sink.* - The water inlet on the back of the unit is 3/4 inch OD MPT/GHT, plastic. A 3/4 GHT x 1/4 push-to-connect elbow is a good connector to use to the water supply line. The elbow allows the supply line to run straight-ish to the water supply valve rather than have to bend 90º after it comes out from behind the DW. 3/4” to whatever female threading on your supply line will also work (use an elbow too). Use washer that is thick enough to meet the male connection on the DW. Water pressure is enough to trigger an tankless water heater. - SharkBite sells a dishwasher inlet kit if you wanna go that way. Item #25568. Excess parts, tho it has precut PEX line. Their 90º elbow is item #U2276LFA. - Power cord is ~48 inches long. Pulls around 9 Amps when in use. I plumbed leak-free using PEX push-to-connect on the water supply. Used a John Guest ASVPP2LF Push-Fit Adaptor Valve (3/8” x 3/8” x 3/8” angle stop valve) to split off the hot water supply under sink. This way you can isolate the DW supply if needed. That it freely rotates if needed is a huge benefit, since PEX is semi-stiff. Attach it between the hot water supply valve and the faucet line as instructed. Used item #U2276LFA elbow (mentioned above) on the DW side with a good washer and thread tape. Tighten until the elbow won’t wiggle much. Then connected the cut-to-length PEX line to the dishwasher elbow and the side of the JG valve. Test for leaks. Sharkbite 1/4” ID/3/8” OD PEX line worked for me. Get the size you need if you use a different valve tee. JG measured by OD, SB measured ID for reference. If you use braided supply lines, get the right tee for the water and the right GHT dishwasher elbow for the DW end. For the drain, a Gates rubber heater hose of 5/8” ID was used, clamped to a 5/8” barbed adapter x 1/2” FPT on DW outlet. It runs to a disposal drain port, clamped again there. If your drain port needs size changes, get whatever barb x barb adapter you need and clamp twice more where necessary. A normal ridged dishwasher drain line could be used instead, but smooth is less likely to hold onto weird gunk. Ran lines as smoothly as I could, easing them into space under sink, so as not to kink as I pushed the DW into its cabinet. Don't kink them! Somehow I managed. The PEX may be the most trouble as it should not make harsh bends. ----------- I’ve been running this thing every other day or so in our two-person-and-two-cat home for almost a month and it works GREAT. It’s relatively quiet. Like a very low air purifier with a swishy water sound. The sound of water freaked me out a bit at first, but honestly, if you tape your threads and connect things well, it does not leak. You get used to it. Or hire a plumber you trust to do this, if you gotta. RINSE OFF ALL YOUR FOOD BITS before loading stuff. Spreads, jams, honey, oils, butter, milk, etc. will all wash away, but the filter will catch any big particles that don't dissolve. You'll have to clean it periodically. Honestly, if you rinse off food, it's not often. It won't fit plates over 10.25 inch diameter upright, unless you load them at an angle. Which is doable, just sometimes tricky if it's already full. Moving the cutlery basket out of the way makes it way easier. Fits big mixing bowls. Your daily knives may be too long in the basket, but again, just angle them. Dishwashing edged tools is never recommended, though, so we hand wash sharp things. I removed the miniscule "cup racks" entirely, because honestly no one has itty bitty little espresso cups in such numbers that wouldn't be better served allowing tall glasses and mugs. The racks pop right out as needed and back in if you find yourself with a plethora of espresso shot drinkers or need an extra place to lay big utensils. We fit two days' worth of plates and cups, mostly, barring baking trays and other things that get hand washed. Occasionally we fit three days' stuff. It's perfect for a small household. A cycle runs between 75 minutes to 1 hr 40 min, depending on which one you choose. There's quicker ones, too, for rinsing or sanitizing. So yeah, it's entirely plumbable, permanently installable, even if SPT won't advise it. Vesta (the same dishwasher) by an RV company is *sold to be permanently installed*, so take it as you will.
