Posted .Really sorry you had these issues with connection. It does require a strong internet or hotspot connection in order to function. We'd recommend a strong WiFi connection with this device in particular.

You might as well just have a card reader because it doesn't work without the hotspot from my phone ( that didn't connect part of the time) so really it was the same as using my phone & card reader. My opinion is square needs to off a data service for dedicated connection.

Having to pay for these items very couple years is not customer friendly. machine is great but does not come with a support bolt or turn base platform which would help.

V2 vs V1 of the 1st Gen Square Handheld Terminal

Gives you more privacy when texts or email comes through during a transaction. I like that I no longer have to handle someones card and possibly set it down and not return it. All in their hands after you enter the sale! Love it!

Hard to get dirty, fasting screen engagement and very simple to use/train on. We did nearly 600 transactions in our first use over 4 very busy hours with no delays/hangups, etc. Highly recommend.

No longer do I need to rely on an ipad & square reader. I have it all right here in one device. I kept the square reader as backup. Highly recommend for this scenerio. Well worth it!

We were able to print out a report of all purchases after the sale to have much better numbers of what was sold. Easy set up and use. Even better, no one had to use their person cell phone for sales! Definitely recommend! :)

Great but Limited Lifespan

Printer works well, connectivity to WiFi and cell phone hotspots is very good. Seems like their lifespan is 2-3 years either the charger port becomes damaged from nightly charging or the computer portion just locks up and can't be reset. Then the entire unit is landfill bound.
