great movie wish there were more like this nowadays

Good movie not for younger audience good story of friends

I grew up with this movie, it is truely a classic and must see!

A great film about friendship and a tough situation.

Movie is definitely an upgrade from my DVD version

Adaptation of Stephen King's story - but not a lot holding it together other than kids bonding and really never got that much into it. Others might like it so will recommend it for that reason.

Great movie but the transfer was just meh. Not Really buying just for the 4k in my opinion.

We decided to buy this movie with the hopes that it was not out dated, but ut stood up to time.

Good transfer but sometimes too grainy for my taste.

Maybe a much better movie if I were in a better mood. This movie did not do. much for me.

This is a very good coming of age story everyone should see

We are thoroughly disgusted. We had order this DVD & when we received it the disc was blank. We returned it to Best Buy in Destin FL where they gave us a credit. We used that credit to order another one as Stand By Me was not available in the store. When the 2nd one arrived we had the same problem. Returned it to the store and was told on the sly to try Amazon.com. We never did.

Got this as a gift for my nephew and he liked it so much..

I ordered Stand By Me and received a copy of Jumanji. Guess they both end in a “red” sound.

I am a child of the 80s so this movie has a special place in my heart as it is a movie ABOUT coming of age. The characters were a little older than I was when I first saw it, but it was one of my favorite movies growing up and still holds a strong place in my heart as an adult. For me this is the best coming-of-age movies of all time and one of the top 10 movies of the 80s. The plot is set in the 50s but even in the 80s I could relate, the theme is relatable for any kid growing up or any adult looking back. If they have seen the movie and believe it's appropriate, which I can't imagine why not (but that's my opinion), I especially recommend parents to show this to their teenagers. Unplug your kids from their gaming systems, iPod, or laptop, and set them down for some family bonding time with a viewing of Stand By Me.

Stand By Me is a classic coming of age story based on the Stephen King novella "The Body" from the book Different Seasons (which also includes "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption," the novella that the film The Shawshank Redemption is based on.) Fans of the film will enjoy seeing it in HD, and should get a kick out of the limited (in quantity, not quality) extras, including a new "Picture-in-Picture Commentary Retrospective" featuring Rob Reiner, Corey Feldman, and Wil Wheaton. Recommended for any fan of this film.

This has a whole bunch of good young actors. It has a good story to it that I appreciated more as I got older. I think most guys will like this movie. Just like the line in the movie " no one really has the friends in life like they had when they were twelve" it really makes you think and it is true. It is easy to put yourself in the story and think back to when you were younger. Good buy

"Stand By Me" is probably number one on my favorite movies list. It is a great, emotional story of growing up. Plus, the special features on this edition are great, too! It comes with a special booklet and music CD filled with music from the movie, plus a little documentary about the movie with Stephen King and Rob Reiner. You really can't go wrong here, great price, great movie, great DVD edition! Highly recommended by this movie lover!

This movie is nostalgic gold. One of those films that I would watch every few years and it would captivate me and make me reflect on my childhood friends and our adventures. This blu ray version is outstanding. The picture quality is tremendous and the extras are great as well. Well worth the inexpensive price.
