I love this movie as a child I grew up watching it its a very very good moviequality of this movie on Blu ray is amazing stunning its like you've never seen it before or let's just say it's like watching it for the first time again and Best Buy had a really good deal on this I believe I paid like maybe seven dollars for it other than credible deal I pay more but bestbuy always make sure that its affordable to us

This movie is a coming of age story of some kids who go out into the woods in search of the dead body of another kid in order to become celebrities for having found him. Along the way they are bullied by a gang of teenagers and develop stronger ties to one another. This movie is based on a Stephen King Story and is in the same vein as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile (both also based on Stephen King novels)

I saw it on 4K, and didn’t think it was much of an upgrade. The colors are more natural in the 4K version, but less vivid. I went with the much cheaper $5 blu-ray version instead and gave myself a high-five after viewing.

Stand By Me was a film that shows a true coming of age stories for young boys into teenage years.. Set in 1959 in Castle Rock, a group of 4 boys set out on a quest to find a missing boy Ray Brower... The adventure they go on takes place over 2 days and is quite harrowing. The actors later went on to star in bigger films and made nice careers.

The best movie ever! River Phoenix was incredible in this movie as were all of the actors. So incredibly believable. And most people would be surprised that the movie is based on a short story by Steven King - The Body.

My husband bought this using his best buy account and reviewed it, then we had our accounts merged, and all his old purchases are showing up on MY review page, so I'm re-reviewing so-to-speak to get the points.

This is a very touching movie. How 4 boys grow up together demonstrates their maturation and events that they experienced together. Their loyalty to one another demonstrates how they develop over the years through the difficulties they share.

One on my all time favorite movies!! Love the actors and soundtrack!! Although I have it on dvd, I had to get it on bluray!! Heck somewhere I think I still have my copy of it on vhs even thought I dont have a machine!!

Rob Reiner hit a home run with this movie. Four young boys hunt for a dead boy and learn to rely on each other along the way. Older boys/young men try to get the body and the glory for finding him from the young four. Get this movie, you will not be disappointed.

Great coming of age movie. Was awesome when it came out in theatres back in 1986. The picture is stunning in 4K. Close to the novella from 1982’s Different Seasons by Stephen King.

This 4K version of stand by me is a great improvement over the Blu-ray. The picture and sound improvement make this the best way to view this movie. After all these years this movie stands the test of time.

I brought this movie recently to show my sons because this is such a good classic movie of the adventurous journey of young teenager's and the foolish decisions they make but never regret it's an awesome classic movie I highly recommend it.

This is truly a great movie. If you've never seen it I highly recommend it, and if you've already seen it you know what I'm talking about. I know it's rated R but it's something you cam watch with your kids when they're a little bit older.

This is taken from Stephen King's story "The Body" from the collection "Different Seasons" which also included the story that was turned into the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" this is a great movie with a terrific cast highly recommended

A movie that needs to be seen! Based on Stephen King's short story, "The Body." Great transfer to Blu-ray and definitely looks better than how I remembered it.

Watched this movie a lot when I was younger. Bought it when I found it in-store right away and watched it with my family on Christmas and forgot how good the movie was. Highly recommend.

Great location cinematography upgraded to a lovely 4K master, with legacy extras plus newly added deleted scenes! If you're a fan, and you really should be, consider picking this one up.

I bought this so I can watch the movie with my son and share the experience with him. I watched this when I was a kid and I'd say after years of not watching it, it still hits home. Definitely a classic

It is a great classic movie of Stephen King that I missed and have just seen it. Nice story and reminds me of those days when I was a kid. I was born in 1958 and had the same adventure.

The 4k movie is just fine...complaint is that there no digital code!
