I love this movie , great special affects ! 9/8/66. It's a badge that Original Trekkers wear proudly -- the date that the very first Star Trek episode ("The Man Eater") appeared on television. I bear it, and Star Trek hooked me that very Thursday evening, and for the next three years, I sat through all 69 episodes, both the best ("Oh Boy! The Trouble with Tribbles") and the worse ("Oh, no! Not that one!"). When they began to appear in syndication, I watched them over and over until I could repeat the lines with the characters. And, no, I'm not going to tell you who my favorite character was.

Always really liked this film. It looks good in 4K.

These films look stunning in 4K HDR. A better way to watch

I love all the Star Trek movies and have all three on blu ray disc. So I was reluctant to buy the 4k. I have a knack for checking 4k movies and comparing them to blu ray to see if in fact there was any differences. Some are good and some are dissapointing. Well Star Trek was nothing short of astonishing! The space battles were absolutely insane. I went out to get the second movie, Into Darkness, and I can't wait to measure it up. This is an absolute buy for anyone interested in Star Trek or sci-fi.

Star Trek is a good movie and the best of the new trilogy.

I was a young teenager when Star Trek first appeared, and was immediately hooked ! I have followed all the TV shows, all the movies, and read nearly every novel about Star Trek. As a true Trekkie, I knew within the first 5 minutes that this was NOT my Star Trek universe, but was still intrigued. What a GREAT way to continue the legends of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov. I especially enjoyed Karl Urban as McCoy ! He is Deforest Kelly reincarnated. A Fantastic movie that all will enjoy.

Besides already owning this film on 1080p blu-ray, I did not hesitate to buy this again on UHD blu-ray. There's no question that the picture is fantastic, but what really makes the difference here is the high dynamic range. You don't think you'll notice much of a difference, but when you compare it to the 1080p blu-ray, the difference is, well, very clear. I would've preferred a 7.1 audio mix, but the 5.1 mix is still very dynamic and does not disappoint. This is definitely one to add to your UHD collection.

4K and a superb plot in the 2009 Star Trek movie is a winning combination. The story traces back the story of James Kirk before he joined StarForce Academy. Lots of good chemistry between the major stars and crew. It is very entertaining with incredible action scenes and CGI. The 2009 Star Trek in 4K will thrill the Star Trek the casual and hardcore fan alike.

We have been Trekies for a long time, but this one tops them all. We love it. I watch it more than my husband, The actors portraying the lead characters from Captain Kirk to Spock, and Scotty as they meet in their earlier years and learned to work with one another getting into the usual trouble. This movies has it all, thrills, excitement, a little love )Spock & Uhura), stunning scenes, and fast action and Eric Bana as the bad guy. Excellent film! Buy it! You will not be disappointed if you love SciFi..

Cris Pine stars in the film reboot of Strar Trek as he plays the brash James T. Kirk who tries to live up to his father's legacy. Mr. Spock is keeping him in check. as vengeful Romulan's from the future create a black hole to destroy the Federation one planet at a time. The updated film making technology of today takes this space adventure to new heights, and the film introduces these time honored characters to a whole new generation, so 'well done' crew.

While some Trekkies are such purists that they hated the reboot, I found it awesome and entertaining. Loved the early Iowa parts, both when Kirk was a bratty kid and later when he got beat up in a bar right before joining the federation. Excellent 4K quality as well. Too bad even the new Star Wars movies are not out on 4K. I think this means that Trek officially beats Star Wars since Trek actually uses the latest technology and Star Wars is still stuck at 1090p.

OK, so I'm a Star Trek fan to begin with. Watched all the movies from Shatner and the original cast through to this point. So, very excited about where and how they were going to make things happen with a new cast playing the same characters. Let's just say, this was Awesome!!!! Wonderful pacing, and a great storyline!! A movie I've watched several times since its original release at the theaters, and just had to make sure I picked up the Blu-Ray version the other day when I was walking through Best Buy.

TO ACTUALLY FIND ACTORS THAT SOUND EXACTLY LIKE DR MCCOY AND LIKE KIRK AND THE OTHER CREW, THAT IS QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT, AND TO SPIN AN ALTERNATE REALITY TO REFRESH THE ENTIRE SERIES IS ALSO WELCOME, WHAT IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN OR THAT, THEY GOT IT

I had been looking for this movie on 4K for quite a while, so I was pleasantly surprised when my local BestBuy restocked. This film was one of the first experiences that really got me interested in the Star Trek franchise. It was a must buy for my collection. It didn't hurt that it was on sale either!

It was great to see this again in 4K. If I get another TV it's going to be in investment into LG's Oled Tv All these other 4k tv's are just a little better than average with maybe the exception of some of the top models from Samsung. In my opinion the jump from 1080p to 4k is not enough to make a big difference watching a movie but I can't say the same for playing a video game. The games that do take advantage of HDR are outstanding.

Growing up Star Trek was my first exposure to the world of sci-fi. I've been a fan ever since. JJ Abrams' Star Trek is this generation's iteration of the classic show and it's lots of fun even if it's a bit hyperkinetic for us original fans. The story does a good job of introducing the reimagined world without throwing away all that was built up by the previous movies. The cast is excellent and the visuals are great. Recommended.

I am a long time Star Trek fan and I must say that this one is at the top of my list. The action and CG are great, and I enjoyed the "alternate history" which opened up a whole new world. Great interaction among the crew. Just the right balance of humor and seriousness. This is one I'll keep coming back to. And every time I see Leonard Nemoy, it brings a small tear to my eye.

We originally purchased this StarTrek title when it was first released. And we liked the movie so much we decided that we would upgrade to the 4K format. The 4K version of this title was excellent, the xtra cost for. 4K is well worth the money. I do recommend that you watch your 4K disc asap, we did purchace another title where the disk that failed to start. Untill that disc, we haven't purchased a DOA disc in decades.

This reboot of the Star Trek franchise is way above what anyone could have expected. The actors chosen for all the main characters are just perfect. The story, as it has time travel in it, can be a little confusing. But, all-in-all, it is a great story full of fun and action. The 4K and Dolby Atmos are fantastic. This is the best presentation of this film for the home theater. Recommended!
