Never was a Star Trek fan but this movie made me want to watch all the old shows and movies. The action is outstanding. The story is amazing. The cast is beyond perfect. Really cant wait for this Blu Ray. I am in shock at how well this movie was done. A total MUST BUY for fans and new fans of Star Trek.

It is a very good Star Trek... 1000% better than early Trek movies. Not a universe of overused connections to the past ("I'm givin' her all she's got captain"...). I like the new set of young actors though I struggle to like the new Spok, though I do like the actor (from Heroes). NEGATIVE: if you expect to get a lic. from this so you can load it to you iStuff- good luck. I had the techs at Best Buy open SEVERAL packages at the store and NOT ONE had the paperwork on the inside... bummer. I went back weeks later and purchased the less expensive version, but still Blue Ray.

I have been a Star Trek fan ever since I was a child watching the old TV series. I greatly enjoyed this movie and rank it ahead of Wrath of Kahn. The story does not detract from the original movie by following a different timeline. The actors did a superb job of matching the original wit of the original cast. This is a must own movie and you will not be disappointed

Me and my wife watched the movie twice in three days. She doesn't even like star trek and was iffy on watching it. She loved it and myself being an old trekie thought it was great to see the charecters more youthfull. The writing was good and they threw in alot of the quirks of the charecters that you see in the cheesy original series.....very funny and entertaining

Great movie! It's hard to take such legendary characters and breath new life into them. J.J. Abrams brought Star Trek back to its former glory with state-of-the-art special effects, a good plot, and perfect actors to portray these characters. Star Trek is great fun for all audiences, filled with humor, sci-fi action, and the classic Star Trek experience as well.

I saw this over the summer because nothing else was out. I was shocked that it was Star Trek and fell in love. I am sad with Blu-Ray transfer only because of the Aspect Ratio (Widescreen bars show up so I have to Zoom). Everything sounds and looks great with no big issues. Whether you like Star Trek or not give this movie a shot, it is very good.

I have always liked ST old school. My wife not so much, till now. We watched this together and now she wants to know all about it. We are only 30yo and my dad got me into the old ST. My wife always thought it was nerdy. Now we have the old episodes on Blu-Ray and she loves the plots. Great to break in someone who knows nothing about the show.

I'm not that big into Star Trek, but this movie blew me away. It has great special effects and keeps you interested from beginning to end. My only regret is that it is not long enough. I'll have to wait till the next one to satisfy my new craving. Blu-ray is the way to go for picture and sound and this film delivers the best of both.

I liked the new way of presenting Kirk, Spock and the others in the alternate reality. The black hole concept was unique. I would have liked to have seen Scotty earlier, but it wouldn't have fit with the new storyline. Captain Pike was well presented and I liked that. Sulu was also great. The older Spock was unexpected, but very well done. I liked that he did the ending with the "Space, the final frontier" speech. That gave me goosebumps. JJ Abrams did an excellent job of taking a classic and giving it a new and exciting twist.

Having never been a star trek fan growing up i didnt really know what to expect, but this movie was great! The story was excellent, casting was great (i've never watched too much of the tv series to compare, but i thought the actors did a good job), and special effects were great! A must own for your Bluray collection

This movie does well to steer clear of the "trekies" who would tear it apart and miss the great overall movie. I have watched Star Trek for over 30 years, all movies, TV shows, etc and this was a great way to breathe new life into a franchise. I am totally impressed and set this as one of my all time favorite movies.

Though Best Buy doesn't say it anywhere, this product is the special edition. I'm not a Trek fan, but just loved this movie. Very accessible to those who are outside of the fandom with plenty of nods for those that have stuck with it since the 60s.

This Star Trek fits right in with the last couple of generations of Trek movies. Wonderful transition from the Spock of old to a potential Spock of new. Special effects are awesome. Plot and story are typical Star Trek. Don't expect Shakespeare, but for scifi buff or Trekkie, this is very entertaining.

I've been a Star Trek fan since the original series. I've seen all of the movies, but this one is the best by far. J.J. Abrams infuses new energy and renews our interest in our favorite characters. The plot allows for a new direction to be taken with future movie releases. I can't wait for the next one.

First off i am going to say that i hate Star Trek, but this movie was awesome. It exceeded my expectations, it had great graphics, actors and even a great story about how it all started. I will watch this movie again. So it Proves, even though you do not like the series, you can still love the Movie.

Love the movie, it satisfies a general audience and fans of the original franchise. My wife, who does not like science fiction, loved the movie. J.J. Abrams put the modern twist in without compromising the original mythos very much. Fantastic cast from an eclectic group. High replayability.

This is a very entertaining movie. I had not seen any of the older Star Trek TV shows/movies before watching this and I still found it to be very enjoyable. The effects are great and it's a beautiful movie to watch and listen to. Definitely shows off the blu-ray format.

This movie has just about everything in it... As soon as it starts it defenatly grabs your attention. Drama, Action, Comedy... u name it, and the plot is great. Had to get the bluray since it's the best way to watch this movie. A must have, must see movie!

This is a fantastic movie whether you're an old school Trekkie or never liked any of the previous Star Trek movies or series. Get it and enjoy it!!! I loved it at the theatre and have watched it at least 6 times already since bringing it home on bluray.

I'm sure it's all been said before I've gotten to review this product; however, I want to reaffirm that if you haven't seen this but are reading the review, you should watch it. If you missed it in the theatre, the blu-ray is the next best thing.
