This was a good reboot of the Star Trek series and sets the franchise up for more movies.

New crews and old Enterprise. I love the new role of captain Kirk and Spark. They are awsome..,..

Strong characters, good plot. Hopefully there will be more movies and perhaps a new series.

I now have all episodes of all incarnations of TV series and all movies.

Very creative in how they used familiar roles and brought us to a different outcome.

Really liked this movie, obviously more for the scifi lovers than anything...

Fun movie to pop in. Great picture and audio quality.

BUYER BEWARE!!! This IS NOT the 3 disk special edition pictured nor does it include the special features described. It is just the movie. It's a great movie and if you're just after the film, go for it.

Picked this up, but soon realized I needed the later version with all the perks. Wound up buying that one too. I think this version is worth it if you don't mind not a lot of extra bells and whistles.

i ordered this blu-ray, got home and opened it and it was only one disk, not three like it says. i returned the movie because i wanted the three disk and best buy does not carry it. i talked to best buy via the 888 number and they just said sorry, the next day they changed the description to say 1 disk, but now it has been changed back to three disk. DO NOT BUY THIS EXPECTING MORE THAN 1 DISK.

I think it is interesting how they decided on how they would reboot the series. It allows the series to go in any direction.

Star Trek as a movie is brilliant..but there is something wrong with the blu ray movie..My player is good because it plays other movies just great...The star trek 3 disc bundle comes with a pc format movie also...and this also shows those blue lines/shades ...so I think it's not the blu ray or my player...something is strange the way these guys made these discs...I exchanged the discs, but same problem.... what's going on!!!!

I was so excited when this movie was going to be made. Then when it came out I was so disappointed that they did not make it to follow the time line. Why an alternate time line? It makes no sence at all to screw up a great franchise as STAR TREK. It just was so full of nonsence that I almost puked on the girl in front of me. I paid $10.00 to see this abortion! I want my money back. Everyone involved should be drummed out of the movie business. The only thing great about this movie is the Enterprise. C'mon Hollywood, get your heads out of your butts and quit screwing up all the greats! You screwed up Godzilla, Starsky & Hutch, Lost in Space and now the soon to be Green Hornet! DON'T SCREW UP THE REMAKE OF THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON!!! Hollywood is just pathetic.

I am also A REAL FIRST GENERATION TREKKER. If Berman was able to make 4 series and 10 movies without a continuity issue, than so was JJ. He took the characters and a general picture of Star Trek and then created a new Star Trek universe. There are certain lines you just don't cross. Follow the new timeline...Vulcan destroyed...Spock's katra can't be rejoined in 3rd movie so he is dead...Spock now dead, there is now way to go get the whales in 4th movie and earth is destroyed...Tuvok never born so Janeway was never saved and is dead....and on and on!!!! "Scotty, Beam me out of here!!" The best part of the movie is that it was released around the holidays. Now I can "Re-gift" the dvd. Live Long and Prosper....oh yeah...not on Vulcan!!!!

Rick Berman managed to produce 10 movies and 4 series. He created a universe that had continuity. With this movie, it has all been lost. Vulcan being destroyed affects so many plots, the Star Trek universe is destroyed. I respect JJ's other projects and I am a fan of his work. I wish he would have worked within the established timeline. I am a trekkie and have watched the movie twice. I will NOT watch it again. Live Long and Prosper,...oh yeah...just not on Vulcan!

The movie is great and I order this specifically for the included the digital copy. This came with only the movie.
