Enjoyed this movie. 3d effects were pretty good. .

It was good to see a truly new story of Star Trek.

Good movie. Bluray quality and sound were perfect.

The story is kind of weak, wish they had picked an established bad guy/alien race from the ST universe, although Idris Elba is a great potential villain, just wish they had created a better character for him. Also didn't like the "classical music" selection.

The effects were good, but I was underwhelmed by the story. The plot seemed more generic SyFy channel fodder than the more cerebral Star Trek story lines. It was enough to satisfy my kids' Trek fix, but I prefer the first two of the reboots to this version.

Not a huge Star Trek, but I did watch a lot of the series offshoots over the last twenty years. The first one was a very clever, high tech visual display, with a good story line. This one has the special effects, but I thought the story line was lacking.

This was okay. The first movie was exceptional and I watched it mutliple times. By this third movie, I wasn't quite as impressed. The story and cinematography were good enough, but I wouldn't call this a classic. Great special features on the blu ray.

In my opinion, the first two movies were better. This one just felt a little confusing and boring. Still enjoyable to watch, maybe just not enjoyable.

The film is not bad, but overall lacks some of the coherency and charm of the first 2 reboots. There was just too many holes and formulaic approaches. BlueRay was nice and I do like that they still allow you to get your digital copy on iTunes.

This is not Gene Rodenberry's Star Trek. This is nothing more than a simple action picture with familiar characters we grew up loving. It's fun and it's not a complete waste of time, but if you're looking for something cerebral, go elsewhere.

I'm never sure when I review a DVD whether I'm supposed to comment on the technical features of the DVD or on the content of the movie. Technically, the DVD rates five stars. The Blue-Ray format delivers an impressive high definition picture and killer sound. The content was not quite so impressive. As a Star Trek fan since the day the first Original Series episode aired, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with J.J. Abrams' treatment of Star Trek traditions in the initial reboot. The second movie was less satisfying, and this third installment has more in common with Fast and Furious than with Star Trek. In my opinion, the movie only deserves two stars at best.

Since the reboot of the Star Trek series, nothing has quite lived up to the original reboot. While this is quite a bit better than Into Darkness, it is still missing something that the first one had. It does look gorgeous in UHD though.

I loved the action of the movie, but did not like the pic quality. The space scenes had elevated blacks and the overall brightness of the film seemed too dark. Also wish it had the alternating aspect ration like Into Darkness had.

The movie was great but disappointed with its picture quality. Thought they would continue with the stunning picture quality of the prior two movies released in 4K but this one is just average. Save money and buy the regular Blu-ray.

Actually, there are some fine moments in the film - mainly in its first 30 minutes. A stab at character conflicts and development. Could have been even better with closer focus and exclusion of the suits from production discussions.

I bought the 4K ultra hd version of this bluray. The video quality wasn't bad. It did have some "pop" to it. As for the story, it was decent. I'm not a Star Trek fan, but the storyline was OK. Decent movie. A rental for sure.

I left the theater the first time. I bought this to see it on my LG OLED. IT looked great! The movie is par. The action was dull and it felt like the characters were completely different people. JJ did a much better job.

I thought this was a great movie which is why I chose to buy it. They had the steelbook only at bestbuy option so I thought it would be cool to have it but after buying it I much prefer the regular bluray cases

Yes this is the new Star Trek. The Abrams universe has a different spin, but I enjoyed this movie alot. Compared to Into Darkness this movie was a return to form and Idris Elba was fantastic. 3D was great.

Purchased Star Trek Beyond [includes Digital Copy] [blu-ray/dvd] on Black Friday. It was a good price and is a good story. It has a lot of action too. However, not a very strong adversary / villain in this one.
