Another excellent installment of the rebooted series! There are some who do not like the rebooted series due to new characters, but honestly, using the original characters is not "logical". The new cast and story lines are very good and pay homage to the original. Stop complaining and give the rebooted series a chance. You will not be disappointed!

A PRETTY GOOD STAR TREK MOVIE

I love the new STAR TREK series of movies, but this one seems to have lost the thing that SET STAR TREK APART from other films of this GENRE. It always had a FOUNDATION built on "THE POSSIBLE" and not just on fantasy. Except for "WARP DRIVE" and 'TELEPORTATION" most of the FUTURISTIC DEVICES have now become everyday appliances. Spoiler Alert - I hate the way they DESTROYED THE NEW ENTERPRISE. But..."There are lots of letters in the alphabet"...

    A Star Trek Action Story

This movie was very good, a nice step forward for the new Star Trek franchise. Put into an action movie setting, the main crew is separated for a lot of time, but it works quite well. We get to see most everyone highlighted in their own areas to battle the enemy & come back together for the finale. A handful of extra features rounds out the set.

I don't know if this is the last one (and I hope it isn't) because each film seems to carry the intense action sequences and amazing plotlines from the previous. Every actor was incredible: Pine, Urban, Saldana, Quinto, Cho, and - wait for it - IDRIS ELBA! Boy, what a shocker to see him cast in this. I didn't even recognize him; the costumes, make up and props were just that good. It was more than I anticipated for a part 3.

Well, what can I say? I am a trekkie, ever since the original show came out when I was in high school. Have watched all the episodes of the various series and all the movies. I am bonded to the original crew, and I think the "replacements" in this movie and the two that came before it do a remarkable job of reflecting the original characters.

Not quite as good as the first two films - the story was a bit smaller in scope but I still enjoyed plot very much. There was some truth in the fact that this film felt very similar to a TV episode that had been made into a movie but it was very entertaining. I cannot wait for the next one. By the way, I might be a bit bias as I am a Trekkie.

4K Ultra DVD- Star Trek Beyond

Once you view movies in this format, you just don't want to watch it in any other way. We have introduced many family and friends to movies and TV's in the 4K Ultra format and they are amazed at how it feels like you are watching it made in front of your eyes. It's like being apart of the action. I highly recommend 4K Ultra movies and TV's.

I thought the first movie was pretty good and the second one was great but the third could of used and edit or two. The story was not bad but not great either. I do like these movies even though they are in a parallel universe. I hear their going to make another. If there is one bonus it's the steel box packaging which I have all three in.

The young crew of the alternate timeline Enterprise was trying to develop their rapport in this installment. However, with the untimely death of Anton, Paramount will have to find a difficult replacement for Chekov. So sad.... As for the movie itself - it is an above average Star Trek flick, heavy on the action side, which I enjoyed.

Having purchased an Ultra HD compatible 75" and a Ultra HD disc player this is a great set as it comes with a Blu Ray and digital copy; could have sprung for the Ultra HD, but didn't. Still, it looks great.. Another great movie in the franchise despite some initial concerns about the director being a previous Fast & The Furious director.

Not Sure It Goes Beyond, But It's Still Fun

I have enjoyed the previous movies in this reboot of the Star Trek franchise. They've been faithful enough to the original series and different enough to offer something new. The third movie continues in the vein, but it is more action adventure than science fiction. Roddenberry's vision lives on in things like Yorktown, but not so much in dealing with the story's social questions or, rather, the lack of. Still, it is a fun popcorn movie.

First this is an upscaled 2K to 4K disc and may not be worth the upgrade if already owned. Since it was not in my collection I opted for the on sale 4K version. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this version to a friend. Second, regarding the movie, while I did not feel that it had the story or the charm of the first, it certainly was an improvement over the second. Action lovers, you will not be disappointed.

This is a great movie for Star Trek fans in general. All the complaints about Abram's trek series should be stopped with this entry which feels more in line with the original show. Fun in general even for people like me who really don't care for Star Trek, but enjoy the new series of films. The guardians of the galaxy influence is also noticble throughout. I'd say it's a must for fans and a give it a try for newbies or non Trek fans.

I liked the emphasis on character development but it didn't have the gravity of the first two movies. To be frank, the bad guys in the first two movies, and the subsequent efforts to overcome them, where better in the Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. Still, the actors were in top form and the 3D was excellent.

I am a fan of the Star Trek reboots, but I admit this is my least favorite of the three so far. They spend a lot of time on the alien planet and little on the ship, and for most of the movie the crew is separated into small groups with very little interaction of the larger cast. The dynamic character interaction and charisma of the full crew is what makes this series work so it just didn't have the same feeling as the first two films.

I am a big Star Trek fan and this latest movie is excellent. I like all the action and special effects. The movie looks great in blue ray. I am not a big fan of 3D movies as the quality does suffer. Looks better on Blue Ray than streaming especially I don't have broadband at home. I got it on Black Friday so it was an excellent deal!!

I've seen this in IMAX and it didn't dissappoint at all. Watching this in 4K on a 4k TV with HDR is just amazing. The colors just pop and the detail in the color shades is a sight to see. The special features did'nt dissappoint but I definnitely wished there was more. If you have the first two you need to add this to that collection.

Star Trek was never about 'darkness" -- it was about the frontier and hope for the future. This movie restores the balance to the Star Trek universe without the over-the-topness of INTO DARKNESS. It about the crew of the Enterprise and their relationships. Well-acted, enough visual effects and the right balance of practical effects.

This was an absolute shock to me! I wasn't interested in the movie after I saw the trailers because it looked boring. But a couple of friends of mine were egging me to go along with them to see it and I conceded. Glad I did cause this was actually pretty good. So many things going on like destruction and more destruction and just plain out destruction! Good story line and it's a good 3rd movie for the this generation of STAR TREK!!

Star Trek Beyond is a bit of a departure from the first two movies, with most of the action taking place on one planet. The static location makes this movie feel more like a long episode of the old TV shows than a galaxy spanning adventure. That isn't necessarily a bad thing and the action is solid. The characters are good as well, though nothing mind bending happens to any of them. All in all, it's a good way to spend two hours.
