All in all a good movie. With a different director at the helm it feels a little different than the previous two movies but that works in its favor here. Definitely feels the most like a true Star Trek story this time around. Why do I only give it four stars? That is because of the use of Beastie Boys music as a plot device. Nearly ruined the movie for me on that alone.

Loved Star Trek since the start. Star Trek Beyond continues Kirk, Spock and McCoys new adventures. Aside from Kirk feeling he's too old for this continuing adventure (to old at what 28), aside from that bit of silly dialog, this was a fun, exciting, entertaining movie. Blu-ray looks and sound incredible. Don't run out and get it, beam immediately to Best Buy and get it!

What can I say. I'm a Trekker. When I originally heard they were going to have a new cast playing the original characters I was against it. But they did a great job rewriting the new timeline. And this movie just continues the Star Trek legion with a great story and special effects.

This is so much better than Into Darkness but it will be much harder to make another sequel with the death of an important cast member. Still an excellent movie and great story line. I can only hope that the next one will live up to this original Star Trek series fans expectations.

yes, i know there's like 50 other star trek movies. this is the 3rd in the reboot universe. it's an okay film. better than the second, but still not up to par w/ something like force awakens. it's basically a long star trek episode, which isn't necessarily a bad thing IMO.

Good action film with strong character interplay. Much better than "Into Darkness". A fine and fast-paced story with excellent special effects. Co-written by Simon Pegg ( Mr. Scott ) and remaining true to the personalities of the most familiar characters. Will not disappoint fans.

Fun movie, not trying as hard as Into Darkness was. Watches more like a really extended original series episode. Felt the twist near the end and the actual ending were predictably contrived, but the character interactions throughout the movie make it worth watching for a Trek fan.

This is the latest installment in the rebooted Star Trek Universe. Some of the special features are great, including the remembrance piece for Leonard Nimoy. The movie is full of visually stunning effects. Haven't used the 4K disk yet, as I only have the upscaling drive currently.

I enjoyed this movie and the Steelbook version of this movie came in BR, DVD and Digital for $19.99. Can't beat that! I typically buy when it has both BR/DVD in the steelbook...some of the steelbook do not come w/ the DVD, which is very unfortunate and usually a lot more in price!

Fantastic special effects and a fun light-hearted story. Character development and the relationships between Kirk, Spock and Bones are the highlight of this movie. More of a call back to the original series as earth and San Fransisco are abandoned for more exotic locations: including alien worlds and a snow-globe space station. Less self-serious than Into Darkness.

This movie got some mixed reviews but I enjoyed the throwback feel to the original series. It had the elements that I enjoyed from the past shows and movies, with the high energy that comes from one of the helms of the Fast and Furious movies. It was just a lot of fun to watch. The blu-ray content is great and added a lot of insight to the story and production.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie for a long time. Would much rather watch at home. I was a little disappointed. not by much.. There was just a little too much action. If that's a bad thing? Anyway, I enjoyed it and had fun watching it with some popcorn and a friend..

I've liked all the reboots of the franchise with Chris Pine, and am disappointed that Anton Yelchin won't be in any more movies. I haven't looked at any of the extras yet, but I usually don't care that much about them, it's the movie itself that I'm interested in.

The characters are good, there is plenty of action, but I had problems with the plot. Again, the Enterprise is destroyed. Fortunately, there seems to be an assembly line producing more. Worker drones that apparently are easily re-equipped and programed to turn them in to storm troopers. The film is entertaining, but I hope the next has a better worked out story.

We are big Star Trek fans and are always excited but hesitant when new movies come out, especially prequels. This new series of movies have been great. The actors are top notch. You can tell they did their homework and portray the original characters very well. Worth watching!

The movie itself is okay, unfortunately they gave away the twist in one of the trailers, so if you didn't see any of those you might be okay. If you're not a trek fan, there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours. The steelbook is always a handsome addition to any movie collection, and the included digital copy means I can watch it on my laptop or any i-device.

Overall still a very decent movie, though my least favorite of the 3 "new series" Star Trek movies. Super price point for the 3D version. I already had a 2D version set, but still got this one! Like the 2D version set cover better and design, would have been nice to see it out in that one. Also, would have been nice to have 3D "jacket" included.

I've watched the TV series as a kid and all the movies that followed. It just keeps getting better. The special effects are great and so is the storyline. As always, characters remain true to the TV counterparts of yesteryears. But now, you can watch whenever the mood hits you.

Really enjoy the 3rd installment of the new reboot. Lots of action, but more than that, the film seems to have captured the camaraderie that was present with the original cast back in the day. The 4k UHD blue ray makes it seem like you are watching the film at the theater.

Recommend this Star Trek movie for those who enjoyed the previous two Star Trek reboot movies. While my #3 of the 3 movies, it is still action packed, with good character development. The 4K UHD version of this movie really is worth it for clarity and sound on a 4K UHD TV.
