Fans of the series will enjoy this movie, but it probably ranks third among the three newest Trek releases. Sort of like an extended version of one of the TV episodes. Nonetheless, it does a great job highlighting the relationships among the crew and has some good action scenes. But how many more times must we witness the destruction of the Enterprise?

My wife is a huge trekkie and I got this for her. She was erythromycin happy with the movie and how it stayed true to the spirit of star trek. Good plot, nice visuals and the action scenes were right in line with previous movies. I enjoyed watching it with the family.

You need this in your collection ! The new Star Trek crew is smarter and more adventurous that they old school Kirk and Spock ! Get some Slurpee refreshments and finish the movie !

If you are looking at this you have probably already seen the first 2 in the series. This is a great follow up to those. As for the packaging, I love the steelbook. However, if I didn't already own the first 2 I would have probably just bought the 3 movie set instead.

All 3 of the new Star Trek movies have been good in my opinion. I think they nailed the characters. This movie I don't think is the best of the 3, but it is still quite good. I'm a big fan of the cast in these movies, really it's what makes all of them 5 stars for me.

The rebooted series is quite entertaining and as a Star Trek fan you are familiar with Next Gen as well as the other series. The technology is different across the series and the tech used in this movie makes the movie fascinating. This movie does not get bogged down.

I enjoyed this movie in the theater, and had it on my wish list to get on Blu-Ray. In the meantime, I got an Xbox One S and so wanted to get a 4K copy. Ultimately, I have to agree with some of the reviews I've seen that while there are detail improvements in the UHD version vs the standard Blu-Ray, they're subtle even when looking close at my 4K TV.

One can never go wrong watching Star Trek. Even the reboot - in spite of the criticisms from some of the die hard fans of the original series and crew - is a worthy portrayal of the vision of a universe that is filled with all of the elements of the human experience.

Star Trek Beyond was very well done, family-friendly, and perfect for any space nerd. DVD/Blu-ray combo pack is the best way to go! I also love having the digital copy so I can take the movie with me on vacation to help pass the time before reaching the destination.

I've enjoyed the reboot and have purchased all 3 movies. Many times sequels let you down but I think the Star Trek reboot films keep getting better! Best Buy has been very competitive on price lately, glad to be able to shop brick and mortar without paying a premium!

Great film and fun to watch.. non-stop action. In my opinion, it is the best of the 'reboot' franchise. If you enjoy 3D, the effects are tasteful and only add to the experience. My copy didn't come with a slip-case cover, though I have since seen some that have one.

It's definitely not the best movie I've ever seen, nor the best Star Trek. But it was a fun one in the series with a bit of humor to it that definitely kept the movie feeling light. It did have a bit of good action and thrills to it, but not really heavy or "edge of your seat" type of stuff. All in all, I enjoyed it, but not the best Star Trek.

It feels somewhere in the middle of the earlier reboots and later TNG movies (for better and worse). There's action but it's not oppressive; character development, though not particularly thought provoking. As energetic spackle to smooth over a Saturday night, Beyond works perfectly fine. But it's unremarkable (even for the action sci-fi genre).

This movie was a great new slant on the reboot of the original series. Character development was handed in a good way to help you feel for them and understand why they were the way they were. The 3D added to the special effects to make good presentation a great one.

I bought this as a gift for my dad, but I also love the movie. The steelcase is a nice addition. I have bought other steelcase editions from Best Buy before and I just like them. Feels like a good addition to the collection. The movie itself is great, I enjoyed it.

I really liked 09 Star Trek, STID was meh, but this one felt like classic trek. A lot of heart in here and a simple story. Some of the action scenes were just to put it on par with other summer blockbusters, which Star Trek doesn't need IMO. But it was still great!

This Star Trek movie stood on its own merits without having to rely on cliches and micr-story lines that were obviously from previous movies. Star Trek Beyond was its own story more in-line with the original Star Trek series. I look forward to the next installment.

One of the best 4K movies that’s available right now! If you have a 4K HDTV you will be completely blown away especially by the dark areas/outer space. Insane ! Anyone with a 4K TV and 4K DVD player should definitely purchase this movie.

Now with Simon Pegg (Scotty) writing "Trek" movies for the first time it shot some new adrenaline into the franchise with a new character also. The movie was still on target for Star Trek with a newer feel too it. Continue this path to success and more good movies.
