Bought this for my husband for Christmas and gave it to him early. He loves all the Star Trek movies. I am not a fan. But we watched it together and I thought there was a pretty good storyline, acting and overall good movie. It kept my interest.

We were happy that this came out in 4k so we could take advantage of our new tv and dvd player. I've been a fan of Star Trek since TOS and although I'm enjoying the reboot, I think the series has to find its path. The quality of this dvd is great, and the movie has plenty of light scenes to take advantage of the new format.

4k bluray is still in its infancy. So extra are a bust. However star trek beyond has a tad more than the other 4k movies. The overall video and audio and expecially good. Must buy if your a trekkie. The movie was a tag great with plenty of good.

This is not a movie review, but a review of the actual Blu Ray. The special features are nice, but there are not a ton. The steel book is beautiful with a clean look. The movie is a nice continuation of the recent Star Trek films, and the blu ray quality is EXCELLENT (as expected). Both the sound and picture are top notch.

I actually like purchasing the steel-books from Best Buy because my dogs try to rip up the other plastic DVD covers. So the steel-book version are much more resilient against dogs. As far as the movie goes, it is what you should expect from a Fast and Furious director like Lin. But it was still a very good action movie

Took a different route for this latest Star Trek route. Since this is the new movie timeline instead of going off previous story they went with new characters and story. Visually impressive but the story just didn't totally feel great. Still enjoyable to watch and the interaction of the characters still is the high point.

Each movies in this series seems to be even better than the one before it. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The special effects were more spectacular than ever. The story was solid. I absolutely loved this movie.

This movie is pretty cool. It has spaceships, aliens, laser guns, strange planets, and futuristic stuff in it. Captain Kirk even does an impression of Evel Knievel jumping buses at Caeser's Palace. William Shatner never did anything like this!

I'm a Star Trek fan, so my review might be a little biased. This is another great addition to the series of Star Trek reboot. I enjoyed the acting, action, and the cinematography. My wife, who is not a Star Trek fan has loved all three movies.

I enjoyed the movie both in the theaters and at home. The picture and sound were great. The 3D quality was decent but not impressive. In addition, it seemed darker than the average 3D blu ray. Also a bit disappointed there was no slipcover. If I had the choice, I'd rather purchased the 2D for half the price as the 3D set.

Once again the special effects are good but the main reason why I found this entry into the saga so good is the seamless and easy way that the film ends ties with the old Star Trek .With the sad passing of Leonard Nimoy the film does a good job of making you feel like the franchise has some good direction for the future.

I like the Star trek movies. This one moves the crew forward to really go where no man has gone before. Its true to the original TV show. I hope they'll keep making these movies. I like the steelbook versions. I just hope they make it more exceptional by making the design an embossed or 3D feel. Keep the franchise alive!

Watched this movie with our 7 year son and we all loved it! It still boggles my mind how well the cast (especially James, Spock and Bones) play the roles of the original Star Trek characters so well! Was not disappointed. Definitely recommend.

The Star Trek reboot nothing but perfection. Each movie continues the saga of the crew of the new starship enterprise. Every move he stands alone yet connect with each other and continues to grow the characters personalities. I love the series

I don't intend to compare this to the original series or TNG or any of the other incarnations of the Star Trek universe. On its own merits, this movie was a great deal of fun - I think having Simon Pegg more involved in the writing and production may have something to do with that as I've always enjoyed his other stuff.

I have always quite enjoyed the star trek shows and movies (except deep space 9) but these newest 3 movies are the best. This 3rd installment is no exception. Lots of action, great space special effects, humor and lots of little comments and easter eggs to tie it to other star trek movies and shows. It's a real winner.

I have been an ardent Trek fan since I was a kid and though they take some getting used to, these new movies are a fine addition to the Star Trek Universe! I was thoroughly entertained in the theater and I can't wait to share it with my son!

Fairly derivative plot: whoever heard of a fake mayday to lure the hero into a trap? The swarming enemy ships were often a blur -- it just seemed like too, too much. I expect they introduced the new character to replace Chekov. So, why did I give it four stars - even a bad Star Trek is better than no Star Trek,

Didn't see it in the Theaters so I was waiting for the BD, and bought it the day it came out. Great experience, watching it at home with full surround sound, awesome addition to the Star Trek franchise. Special effects and humor are AWESOME!

I've been following the Star Trek universe for decades. It's interesting to see where this particular storyline is heading. This was an interesting story, far different than copying from one of the original movies.
