If you have been a Trekkie fan throughout the years with all the changes then this movie will be a blast for you. If you are a newbie to "The Trek" then this is a great place to start and you will go watch the others.

    Great movie, lacks good 3D

The movie is great. No squabbles there. However, the 3D depth is not great. Nothing leaps out at you. We have many other 3D movies, and none of them is as poor in that category as this one is. I frequently lifted my glasses to see if the scene was in 3D. Often it was. Disappointing.

Certainly not as good as the second movie. There is some amusing dialogue (believe Simon Pegg was responsible for some of that) but the "bad guys" numbers and capabilities just don't come across successfully. They allow for some great special effects, but not for the greatest of stories

Woo Hoo! An interesting new character, Jaylah. Sad the Carol Marcus didn't return. At last we are doing the strange new worlds thing rather than retelling old episodes with a slight twist. This was a great Trek movie.

Entertaining, But Least Favorite of Trio

The 3rd installment of the 'new' Star Trek films is entertaining as a standalone movie, but is my least favorite of the 3 'new' Star Trek films. The plot is not as interesting as the first 2 movies and the special effects, while beautiful, were a bit overdone and even confusing at times.

'Star Trek Beyond' is a terrific addition to the Star Trek canon. It is well written, exciting, and in many ways a return to the original series. The entire cast excels and no real Star Trek fan will be disappointed.

To me all the Star Trek movies are good but Beyond has it all, comedy, action, outstanding visual effects and of course true to the trekkies, excellent actors. I collect the series but I truly recommend this movie!

This is, in my opinion, the best of the 3 movies from the new Star Trek generation. 4k adds a great amount of detail and quality that would otherwise be missed in lesser definitions. Looks beautiful on the screen!

Hadn't seen this movie since the year it came out. It was better than I remember and I was very happy with the 4K Ultra HD picture and sound.

I'm more of a Star Wars fan but I have enjoyed JJ Abrams reboot odd the Star Trek series. Loved the story and I thought Simon Pegg did a great job of writing the script. A must for Star Trek and science fiction fans.

This is an excellent movie. The idea of the loss of the Star Ship Enterprise wa not new but the way it was done was most excellent. I enjoyed the creative ideas put forth by the the writers and producers. Great job.

I love the look and feel of the metal case. The price is great for this quality of an item. The movie was awesome and the whole package comes well made. I am very pleased and will enjoy having this in my collection.

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its 5-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

So far this is one of the most enjoyable new entries in the Star Trek franchise. It is a completely original story that had plenty of action, adventure, and, of course, the interplay that made Star Trek so amazing!

Really good movie, they did a great job with this reboot and Karl Urban as "bones" is great........I think the first 2 are better but this holds it's own!!

Star Trek Beyond proves a sequel can be better than the original . I don't know how they do it but I believe each one of these Star Trek sequels have been better than the one before . This is an amazing adventure .

Best Star Trek yet! Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are ten times the team that Shatner and Nimoy were with chemistry to march. The stories now have directing and acting to match today's special effects. Enjoy!!!!

    Seems phoned in!

I like the new star trek movies; never was a fan of the william shatner-starring ones, but loved the JJ Abrams rebooted-ones. Alas, this one felt phoned in; the previous 2 kept raising the bar on stakes, story line, humor, special effects, etc. But this one just seemed like more of the same, like another episode in the tv series, which it could have been. There's nothing special about this one; no new character developments, no new reveals regarding Starfleet, yes, there are new species, but they are more just there to be new/different rather than us getting any background on them enough to care about them. Just OK; they need to find the passion again for this franchise as this movies comes across as a contractual obligation by the actors/production company than a passion project.

Pretty good story. Stunning 4K picture. Great sound track. I really get tired of all these reviews that expect ground-breaking stories and "never been seen before" SFX. Relax and just sit back and enjoy the movie.

Great summer movie! Full of action and cool visuals. The movie has an amazing score. The plot is very transparent (most will figure it out within the first thirty to forty minutes) and not difficult to follow. Definitely a movie you'd want to purchase if you have a home theater system.
