great 4k effects but if you want the digital download do not pay for 4k paramount will not let you watch it outside of their pc or mac program this is not Best Buy''s fault and i have a right to let you know paramount are crooks

The rating is for the movie is 5 ⭐️. Best Buy gets one star for canceling my order on the last day I could get an extension.

I returned this multiple times and still won't play on my Xbox s, very disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing this in 4k

This 4k movie won't load in my Samsung blue ray player. The player is only 1 1/2 years old, I was told it would by best buy!

This was one of the first movies I purchased in 4k. I love the movie and already owned the standard blu ray. My initial impressions were not great as I felt that the colors were muted in the 4k HDR version. This is often the case though as the colors are often more realistic. The HDR is spectacular in terms of highlights, but I kinda prefer the 1080 version because it's colors are more vibrant.

Yes, I am a Star Trek geek. I have loved the series ever since it's maiden voyage. I forgive a lot (yes, Star Trek III was pretty lane - even I admit that#. But the new strain is really something else, and the cast truly brought it together in this one. Cumberbatch was the quintissential villian, evil with enough of pathos to almost make us feel sorry for him at times. Pine and Quinto have gotten both their roles and their relationships solidified. These is an ensemble among the entire cast that took at least an entire season for the TV series #all of them# to blossom. And while the video quality is really terrific, the audio is among the best I have ever heard from my system. Surround channels are truly distinct and attention grabbing. While I do not have a Dolby Atmos set up, the 9.2 surround I do have #Marantz 7702 Mk2 pre-pro, full MIrage HT speaker system and 300 wpc Outlaw amp along with dual 800 watt SVS subs) got quite a workout and sounded magnificent. Run, don't walk, to Best Buy to pick this up if you have a 4k TV and 4k blu ray player.

Let me start off by saying I have NEVER watched Star Trek movies or the TV shows before the first Star Trek movie in my life (I am 37 years old.) It was a combination of not being a huge fan of sci-fi movies and being "Team Star Wars" because I didn't have any desire to play "catch up" on hundreds of episodes of a TV series and a handful of movies. Once I read that the first movie started an alternate timeline in the Star Trek universe it piqued my interest and I am certainly glad that it did. You are introduced to Khan and given some of his backstory. The visuals and sound are amazing and the plot is action packed from start to finish. For the Star Wars fanboys (or casual fans who are anti Star Trek and don't know why) you won't be disappointed with the purchase if you accept the fact that the only similarities with Star Wars are the spaceships and weird species (and in the case of "The Force Awakens" JJ Abrams is the director.) They are 2 distinct franchises and there is room in your heart for both of them.

Ok, a little more? 4k is still impressing me. but Star Trek 4k..Look out!!!!! Are you a Trek fan? You needn't be here. all the fun of summer blockbuster and Trek too. Video will leap off the screen and audio is enough to wake the neighbors if you are a theater owner. So what else? nothing!! go get this...NOW!!!

This movie was great! I would have to say that all three have been great movies! The picture quality from 4k makes it that much better!

Captain Kirk during the original TV show, before the movies, was a confident leader who commanded respect and obedience from his crew. In this movie, Chris Pine's Kirk wasn't anything like that version of Kirk. He was unsure of himself and that rubs off on his crew who question every order he gave out. Also, **SPOILER** If the enterprise found the botany bay while on its 5 year exploration of unknown space, then how if they didn't go on that journey did Starfleet find Khan? Doesn't add up. Story I feel was very weak. Good scifi movie, but bad star trek movie.

I watched this on my new OLED TV and I can say it's the greatest format of movie I've ever seen

The 4k is amazing with the IMAX footage included, the sound is incredible.

I don't have a 4K screen yet, but I wanted this because I will someday.

Classic Trekky movie that will not disappoint. Get it.
