Into Darkness is a rehash of the best Trek film Wrath of Khan the plot is frankly ridiculous and the ending is insulting.

This isnt your fathers Star Trek

Let me start off by saying that this is a refreshing new adaptation of the original Star Trek ll: Wrath of Kahn. If they remade it word for word, scene by scene, it would be boring and trite. That being said, Into the Darkness is one of the best movies that 2013 has to offer. Despite the infamous screen flares, the cinematography is stunning in every way. Cumberbatch, who plays Kahn, is one of the most intense actors out there and he really stands out in this role. The action sequences are well put together and believable. If you love action, scifi, romance, comedy, you will love this movie!

Some of the characters and histories were changed a bit but, the movie maker didn't blow it. This is a great movie, i look forward to seeing more like it.

I am a longtime Trekkie and think the reboot is fantastic. There were a couple of distinct homages to Star Trek II in Star Trek XII but many differences. Star Trek has been an example of an ensemble cast working well together over the years. The reboot does hit a wall in that manner because the new cast hasn't worked long together, but that will pass in time.

    Into Darkness

I am not a huge fan of huge Hollywood special effects spectacles, nor do I consider myself a Trekkie, but I do love the original Star Trek, particularly the original six films. As much hate "Into Darkness" gets from fans (even from those who enjoyed the 2009 "Star Trek" predecessor), I personally loved this experience, especially on the stunning Blu-ray. J.J. Abrams knows how to deliver a big budget package that even a seasoned cinephile might enjoy.

I am not a 'Trekkie' but i do enjoy watching sci-fi movies. This one in particular is a fun and entertaining experience. The cast is great and the plot is pretty good too. I own the first movie and this one is just as good, which is a pretty bit feat to accomplish for a sequel. The blu-ray came with a digital copy as well which works with both iTunes and Ultraviolet. Overall, this is a movie i will watch many times and one that i highly recommend.

    Really Good Sequel

The movie was really good. A well done sequel to the 2009 movie. However, it is still not Star Trek. I will leave it at that. I enjoy the remakes for what they are. Visually the movie is almost perfect except for Abrams stupid lens flares. Sound was amazing as well. The storyline falls flat however, Pine leaves alot to be desired as Kirk, Quinto does spock nearly as well as Nimoy, though. The only thing that as a Trek Nerd, I personally hate, is the way Abrams made the Klingon's look, they look horrible. It is one aspect of the TNG/DS9 series he should have kept. Their ships look nice, but their physical appearance is horrible.

Entertaining; but could have been better

Star Trek Into Darkness is an action-packed, well-acted juggernaut of a movie. If you're an old Star Trek fan, you'll recognize it is kind of a remake of the best Star Trek movie made. This makes it distracting for me. I like nods, but not everything lifted and re-used. It's not a travesty like some say, but could have been so much more, especially since they've already introduced the characters so they could do anything. Stellar picture and sound, good extras but this movie was a massive cluster-f for extras since every retailer has an "exclusive" including the idiotic idea to put the Director's Commentary on Itunes.

    Could have been 5 Star

I really enjoyed the movie, but as with most current Sci-Fi movies the creators (Producer, Writers, Director) rely too heavily on CG to carry the whole load. For a movie to have any lasting significance it needs to be well balanced. I understand they are all carried away with their new ability to make anything anyone can imagine appear totally real on the screen, but they need to go back to the days of black & white and no special effects and put some heart & soul back in movies. Special effects are great and put a movie over the top, but you still need a solid foundation to make a really great movie.

    Love Star Trek!!

I have always loved Star Trek going back all the way to the original series and of course TNG, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise. The new incarnation of Star Trek by JJ Abrahams while bemoaned by a lot of hard core trekkies is loved by many including me and it really breathed life into it's lifeless body and Star Trek Into Darkness continues that trend! Great visuals, great acting and plot!! SEE IT TODAY!

Great Movie I have seen all of the originals, this move is great for first timers who do not know who Khan was. Yes they changed the story but it's still awesome. Funny, action and blowing things up.....

I really enjoyed this Star Trek! (Loads better than Star Trek Beyond.) However, I'm torn between the first one and this one as to which is a better film. Regardless, I recommend this film to anyone who loves sci-fi or Star Trek, or J.J. Abrams flicks.

    A New Generation of Trek

I truly enjoyed the new generation of Star Trek movies with the new director. The cast and crew may be familiar in name but they are the next generation for sure. This will probably be the next long lived set of stories we will watch for years to come.

Exciting and enjoyable movie. Outstanding special effects, and intricate plot line. Great tie-in with the original Star Trek TV series. However, the early bedroom scene with Kirk and the nude alien chicks was an unnecessary vulgarity.

A great nemesis does Benedict Cumberbatch make

I really enjoy Benedict Cumberbatch's villain in this movie. Even though there are times when he could've easily destroyed Kirk and his crew, and you're like "why didn't he just kill them?" or "why didn't he use his powers right there?", it's still a descent movie and very entertaining. Visuals and sound are well done too.
