To be honest, I'm never sure if I'm supposed to write a review about the movie or the DVD quality itself when it comes to these so I'll do a bit of both: DVD quality is very good and the price was very affordable, even for Best Buy. The movie, I love. I'm a huge fan of all the actors and actresses chosen for this movie. Though I'm not the biggest fan of having another plot done on the same villain for multiple movies of the Star Trek series, I still enjoyed it. I recommend this product and movie.

These Star Trek reboots have been a tough sell for me (a die hard Trekker), but I figure some Trek is better than no Trek. I admit the first film is still not a favorite of mine, but Into Darkness (horrid title) is quite a fun romp! It should be as it is based on The Wrath Of Khan, one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever. As someone who has seen every film and TV episode of anything Trek, some of the updated characters are barely tolerable, but I see what they are trying to accomplish. The film is beautiful in every way and the 4K presentation brings it to life. If you are not a Trek fan (you are missing out), this might be the film to bring you over.

While I am a fan of the "new" Trek movie franchise, I am also a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch. I loved his portrayal as the antagonist in Star Trek into Darkness. I am looking forward to the next Trek movie, although disappointed that J. J. Abrams will not be directing. (The plus side is that perhaps Abrams can breathe some life into Star Wars.)

I got the best buy version of this movie because they offered an additional 30 min of "exclusive digital content." So how was it? I have no idea. The content is only available through Cinema Now, and requires the entry of a code. Problem is the code in my packaging is a digit shy of the total number of digits in the entry field. As such I get an invalid code error. When I contacted BestBuy/CinemaNow chat for help, I got an offensive "customer service" rep who insultingly had me unlink UltraViolet from my account, and then relink it, which did nothing, before telling me to contact the studio's "customer service." Really? I wasted the better part of an hour for THAT? Movie: 1st 1/2 8/10 2nd 1/2 3/10 Best Buy/Cinema Now 0/10

You dont have to be a die hard fan to appreciate a space mystery. Only Star Trek could add mystery and mayhem to outer space. Captains log states that this seems like a true 4k DI but it's a 2k upscale. I was very impressed with the wide color gamut for this one. I own the blu ray and the difference is literally night and day to me. What are you waiting for this is a reference quality disc

I'm a Star Trek fan and have been since the original series appeared on TV. The new series and cast are exceptional, and, although they are not traditional, the re-telling of these characters is exceptionally well done. To watch the growth and development of these complex relationships in the new series is a delight. Smart writing, great acting, engaging stories. I will collect the entire series! Exciting, thoughtful, provocative, entertaining movie!

4K Blue-Ray, a bit more, but, a HUGE value! I watch the 4K at home with unbelievable Dolby Cinema HDR,and Dolby Atmos, that is my main intention, Took the regular BD to Mom's and enjoyed again with her on her older system. Downloaded from iTunes to watch on Road Trips, iPhone,Travel. All versions are astounding quality picture and Sound! I am buying the entire set now! You get what you pay for! Sure a DVD might be $10 cheaper, but REALLY?

The Star Trek movie series is one of the best, great actors, Spock and Dr McCoy look just like they would be at their younger ages, well written, directed and acted, great CGI, and the 3D makes it SO MUCH better, it's awesome! It's like being right there, I'm hooked on the 3D movies after watching this one. I'm so glad I added this to my collection.

Star Trek: Into Darkness has a great cast and is a good continuation of the Chris Pine helmed series of Star Trek films. Lots of wild interactions in the film and the return of a historic villain. The villain could have been delved into a bit more but overall the movie is great. Worth a watch. Pack included Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy of the film.

I did not realize how much of a Star Trek fan I was until I started watching the reboot and then it all came flooding back. My wife has no interest in the original series or movies (she doesn't like The Shat) but she has NOOO problem watching Chris Pine as Kirk. This lastest movie continues the reboot's effort of boggling the mind with alternate story lines that still connect to the orignal, yet are easy to follow for the newbie. The only downside, the Blu-ray had playback issues on my older player.

This was just a a different version of Wrath of Khan in a parallel universe frankly I was a little disappointed. If you're a fan of the franchise you'll probably enjoy the twist.

Great sequel to the action packed reboot of the Capt. Kirk Saga of Star Trek. We are introduced to Khan who could easily be the baddest MoFo in the universe. An act of terrorism forces Kirk and his crew to make a decision: ignore the ethics of their true mission of exploration, or uphold the prime directive and bring a criminal to true justice. This film has all you loved in the first film plus more, including the first glimpse at a Trekkie's favorite Alien nemesis, the Klingons.

This is another great Star Trek movie with the Re-Vamped crew. I can't say enough how much I enjoy watching these new Star Trek movies with the new actors. The CG is great in the movie, and a huge step up from a lot of other Sci-Fi movies I've seen recently. Even if you're not a huge Trekkie or Sci-Fi fan, it's just a great movie over-all and not one to be missed. Make sure you watch the first one first, though! They would make an awesome double-feature night at home!

I have always been a fan of Star Trek--both the various TV shows and the movies. Some of the films have been good, some not so much. This one falls somewhere in the middle of the pack. Fine acting--particularly from Benedict Cumberbatch--moves things along quickly enough that the plot holes aren't too obvious. But they are there. This film would have been far better with someone going over those errors and imparting a little realism to the fantasy. I would also appreciate someone who knows something--anything--about the military having a look at scripts like this. Even with these problems, this is an entertaining film that will play even better for fans of Trek.

This is the second of the rebooted Star Treck films. It has callbacks to the second Star Trek movie from the original cast. It's also a terrific movie in and of itself. The movie is well displayed on blu-ray, looks fabulous and has awesome sound. It also has a lot of cool extras. A great investment!

J.J. Abrams did a great job on this follow-up sequel to his 2009 Star Trek movie. The action drives this movie as it did the last one. I loved getting another look at characters we were already familiar with, along with the introduction of villains from series past. It made this movie more than just a refreshed sci-fi staple. Star Trek fans will love it, casual fans will appreciate a good story with characters they know, new fans will be wowed by the big screen action.

This Star Trek film has gotten a lot of flak for being the worst Star Trek film so far, but that's definitely not true. There were a lot of bad Star Trek films, and this is not one of them. If you liked the first film in this reboot series, then you will like this one too. Without giving too much away, the characters are classic, the plot is a modern twist on an old story and the action is really fun to watch. I just wish that there were more extras on the Blu-Ray.

I loved this film. A great addition to the JJ Verse of Star Trek. It shares some of the greatness of the old Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan. But with a whole new creative twist to it. It has some great nods to the film as well as some of the others as well. And a very typical JJ Easter Egg if you look close enough. I don't want to spoil the film, so I'll simply say, if you love Star Trek, and especially loved the 2009 film, go get this! You will not be disappointed.

Star Trek Into Darkness was an overall good Star Trek movie but not as good as the first in the reboot franchise. It suffers from some plot elements that are kind of ridiculous and convenient. It is entertaining though and provides some good action, acting and comedy. The 3D on the blu ray is pretty good for being a converted 3D movie. Definitely not the best in 3D but certainly not the worst. Adds some good depth at times to the scenes in the movie.

The movie arrived in a large box which had me thinking what did I order. When I opened the box it was a box set which included he metal pack and a figurine all in sealed box. Pick this one up if you can still get it.
