Definitely a must have for any Star Trek fan's movie collection. The special effects are outstanding. This movie will not disappoint. Loved it. On top of that, I got the movie at a great price.

Upgrade of the original second movie involving Kahn with a twist.. story line totally different from original 1982 version... I think Ricardo Montalban would agree his version was too stagee and he hung on every sentence when he spoke from one or two spots throughout the entire movie.. The new updated version is way better...

The picture quality on the UHD disc is of course fantastic. But the atmos sound is the real standout. Unlike the first movie, Into Darkness takes full at vantage of the height channels throughout the entire movie. It's a demo disc when you have friends over for sure.

Good features what is real and what is CG in the movie it might have you guessing. I don't want to give away to many things so if you likes the 1st one you will probably like this one as well. As always new ships, original characters from the TV series used with new twists, Klingons, and more.

I have been a fan of just about all of the incarnations of Star Trek. Although there are some differences in the back stories of some of the characters from the original, the cast has done an excellent job of recreating the crew of the Enterprise and members of Star Trek Command in this movie.

I grew up with the original Star Treks and I think J.J. Abrams idea of skewing the timeline continuum was genius. This is the 2nd chapter in the new Star Trek movies and the plot was great, the acting good, and the similarities to the original movies are a bonus. Great movie - highly recommend.

The picture quality and the the sound are top notch. Great dolby atmos and HDR. My wife really loves the movie because she has a thing for Benedict Cumberbatch. I loved the plot and how they rewrote the Khan character

If you were looking to upgrade your Abrams Trek movies to the Compendium set and/or are upgrading to 4K, you may want to consider getting the separate 4K editions of the Star Trek movies to have both the 4K versions of the movies and ALL extras from the Compendium set.

This is the second of the new Star Trek movies and it does not disappoint. The story line is great and the 3D made the movie even better to watch. I pre-ordered the movie and it arrived 2 days after release date. I was very happy with the price ($29.99 with free shipping) of the 3D combo pack.

This is a good (but not great) addition to the Star Trek story. For those newer fans the sheer amount of action is well done and enjoyable, but for those of us who have been with the franchise since the beginning it comes up a bit short in the character developement department. But then this really isn't brain surgery after all, so what the heck, give this movie a whirl and see if you feel the same way! Enjoy...

Seen this movie a dozen times so when I got my 4K TV I had to buy it in 4K. Let me tell you that it does not disappoint. The 4K HDR is fantastic and of course the movie is fantastic. It is a great re-imagining of the Wrath of Khan. I highly recommend this movie.

Let me start by mentioning that I am a Star Trek fan and knowledgable about their continuum. Since this is the 2nd movie of a reboot that still holds onto the original continuum it is very hard to review this movie. If I had never seen any Star Trek until the 1st reboot Khan's character would seem extremely underdeveloped and lacking in depth. Knowing the character and his background actually make that aspect of this movie even worse. While I won't say the acting was terrible Khan was very bland to say the least. The rest of the movie was actually pretty solid. Good visuals, the right blend of action, drama and humour from the crew paired with good writing still make this a fun movie. While it is always interesting as a fan to see where this "alternate" universe heads there is a character that could have been used in the future in great ways that I don't really care if I see again.

I really enjoyed Star Trek Into Darkness, even though it is essentially a remake (or "reboot") of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. There are many similarities, or callbacks, to that movie, but overall it works well within the plot of this film. Did they actually NEED to insert a classic Trek villain into this movie for it to work? Probably not. But overall it works, and makes for a very fun film.

Into Darkness is a great addition to the Star Trek catalog. Although it does mirror some previously established Star Trek plots, it manages to satisfy both the Trekkies and the rest of the movie-viewing public at the same time. It's an entertaining movie and one worth owning.

Based on the original international sensation, Benedict Cumberbatch takes the Star Trek world to a place where no sci-fi film has gone before with an edgy, dark, gritty and truly terrifying portrayal of the Enterprise's greatest and most deadly enemy. IT WAS AMAZING!

JJ Abrams did a masterful job of bringing back the Star Trek franchise to the big screen. The first episode encompassed the major themes and characters of the 60's TV program. The sequel good but the beginning was forced which could have been avoided. Otherwise true to form Abrams was able to continue to bring life to the series. Unfortunately I understand the Mr. Abrams will not direct any future episodes.

Been a Trekkie for 50 years - seen them all, from Kirk, to Picard, all the way to Archer. This movie is a continuation of a re-imagining of the Star Trek universe, and JJ Abrahms does Gene Roddenberry proud. Lots of action, humor, and great cinematography. A must have for any sci-fi fan.

Very good follow up to the current original movie. This current Star Trek Trilogy mixes a good blend of the the original character stories with more detail added to the characters and modern action and technology.

I love the Star Trek reboot. The cast is amazing, and the care and detail that went into the shooting of the films has paid off. This movie is even more amazing when viewed in 3D. Well worth the excellent price that Best Buy charged me for this movie. The shipping was spot on as well.

An enjoyable continuation to the reboot started by Abrams, although haters of his flare will continue to grate their teeth through this installment. Cheap plot devices ruin on occasion an otherwise enjoyable action sci-fi film with serious undertones that bring out an occasional tear.
