||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best most recent Star Wars movies recently and it’s in 4K. If you have a 4KTV, a 4K Blu-ray Player and are a fan of Star Wars, I high recommend this disc.

great movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this movie it goes with the two previous Trilogy so nicely complement them wonderfully. I was so afraid when they were making this movie that they would totally kill the series and it'd be horribly done and it wouldn't match well. It is perfect it leaves you with so many questions afterwards. We've seen this in the theater and that we bought this the kids loved it can't wait for the next one to come out beautifully done like I am so impressed. It is a long movie I don't know if the other ones are two and a half hours each. But this is fairly long and some of the kids have a hard time sitting through it. But it is great. The first time I saw this my husband said it was more fun watching you watch it then it was actually watch the movie so it's great fun it's Shockers all around. I must see if you love Star Wars

It is Star Wars, enough said
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The subject should be all you need to read. However, for those who want more... I was actually quite pleased when Disney acquired the Star Wars franchise. Disney has been know to make good movies and have great continuity (something that was lacking in the prior movies). The movie itself was great. Spoilers *** DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE *** Now, yes, you will read a ton of comments (mainly negative) about how Rey (Daisy Ridley) ended up mastering the force in one movie, a feat that took Luke Skywalker three movies to do. However, you will also read a ton of comments about all the great nostalgia moments. Your opinion is your opinion. If you're reading this review still, I honestly suggest, watch the movie yourself and make up your own opinion.

This is it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an old Star Wars fan, I've been waiting for the day when this franchise will finally be set right. Ever since the unnecessary editing created by George Lucas, I have been avoiding any digital and hard releases of the first six movies. Even the original 3 I couldn't bring myself to spend money on. After seeing this movie in the theater, I could not believe it. My faith in the Star Wars franchise has been restored. To go from "meh" to "YEAH!" is no easy task. And that says a lot on how The Force Awakens is done. The story, the characters, and the atmosphere, it all brings me back to the old days of the original trilogy, before the unnecessary edits. Was it the perfect follow-up to all the other Star Wars movies? No. It's not perfect. But it's a very good start on the next arc in the Star Wars story.

Good but not the greatest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good movie overall, but plot is too similar to original Star Wars (A New Hope). Was expecting something a lot more original from director J.J. Abrams and lead writer Lawrence Kasdan. The MiIlenium Falcon chase scene was excellent though, so hats off to the digital artists. Also a nice nod the original with the alien cantina scene. Daisy Ridley shines as the lead. A little too long though and purists will find things to grumble about that break continuity from originals. For example, Han Solo warns against the dangers of random hyperspace jumping in A New Hope, bouncing too close to close to a supernova or some such, but apparently that's no trouble in Force Awakens, as he advises just gunning it right through the bulkhead of another ship.) Overall quite enjoyable and perhaps a better "movie" that the original, but not the best "story". And a personal aggrevation with the movie, this is the second time J.J. Abrams has destroyed a planet (or planets in this case) in one of his movies and made such an event visible from another solar system. He obviously did not heed the ridicule he took for the ridiculousness of this in Star Trek to not do it again in Force Awakens. Rather glad he's not directing episodes 8 or 9: he's a great director but a terrible astronomer. Suspension of belief for things like hyperspace travel and the Force are fine, but humans just can't look up in the sky and see planets exploding light years away. We can't even do that with telescopes let alone bare eyes. This and the hyperjump through a bulkhead were genuine eye-rolling moments that spoil an otherwise very good movie.

Return of the Star Wars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film was an absolute joy to watch. After so many years without a Star Wars film, this one delivers everything you want in a Star Wars movie. The characters from the previous films were a joy to see on the screen again, the new characters were extremely likeable and you instantly want to know more about each and every one of them, the updated designs of costumes, scenery, and ships are new and exciting but still paying homage to the original designs, and of course the music and film style places you right back in the middle of the universe. Additionally, the steelbook packaging was very cool and I'm incredibly happy I opted for that option. Plus, it fits perfect with the other steelbook cases (for the other six films) that were released at the end of last year.

Is a review really necessary?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's Star Wars and this latest episode was made right. The new characters/actors are excellent overall and the story is new yet reminiscent of the original New Hope. There is the Stormtrooper with a conscience who runs from the new regime which has replaced the empire, a new orphan on a desert planet and a new rolly polly droid with a lot of character. What's more is the story eventually leads our new heroes to find Han Solo, Chewbacca and Leia. With a new planet killing weapon, it's the rebels back to the rescue. Some elements have been called too similar in some other reviews, but I think it stands on its own (and nothing is ever truly original in Hollywood anyway). It is a great new story in the Star Wars Universe and sets up the future of the remaining trilogy well.

Finally, Another Great Chapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a young man, I loved the original Star Wars trilogy, and I was so hopeful that Lucas' newer installments would revive that feeling I had while repeatedly watching the older films. Sadly, they didn't - at least not for me. I won't pretend to comprehend what Mr. Lucas was thinking when he created Episodes I - III, but I only really enjoyed the third installment of his "newer" films. Anyway, when I saw The Force Awakens, i did feel that stirring - the teenage version of me sat up and said, "That's it! That's what I was waiting for!" The blu-ray's picture and sound are, as we would expect, amazing. Crank this puppy up when you get home - if you don't have a home theater system, buy one. To close this review on an even cornier note: "Chewie, we ARE home!"

So happy I found this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a huge star wars fan and an even bigger fan of the 3D experience. I bought the steel case version of this initially eagerly awaiting the 3D version release. I began to get worried because a little research was telling me that Disney typically does not release their films in 3D format on the consumer side and only commercially to the movie houses. I was so relieved to find this I picked one up without a second thought as I thought maybe at some point it might not be available again. I highly suggest purchasing this film in 3D if you have the set up to support it like I do. 200" screen, 600 watt surround, theater seating. The whole 9. Even for an entry level set up this would be an epic experience. Thank you Disney and Best Buy!
