Great film and nicely done Blu-Ray
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed the film. The new characters are great and of course it was fun to see all our old favorites again, even if only extremely briefly in some cases (wink, wink for those who have seen it). The only thing I've watched on the Blu-Ray is the film itself, but the thing I wanted to comment on is how happy I was with how Disney presented the film. Unlike some discs (DVD and Blu-Ray) that first go to trailers or commercials that you may or may not be able to easily bypass, this Blu-Ray takes you right to the menu where you can quickly start the film. I believe after inserting the disc I was watching the movie in under two minutes (depending on your Blu-Ray player this may or may not seem fast). ALL DVD/Blu-Rays should behave this way!

Another winner in the Star Wars series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....aaand the hits just keep on coming. New characters are introduced to us that we are sure to see again; old characters we love are still there, even though naturally aged by time, except Chewbacca. Although we have seen a similar opening before, a robot carrying an important message that everyone seems to want, it still has the element of intrigue and anticipation of not knowing what will happen along the way of its adventure, and the people that eventually become involved. I did not like the killing of one of my favorite old Star Wars characters (I'll withhold naming for those who may not know), but there is a definite feeling at the end of the movie of a NEED to see the next in the series and that you hope it will not be long in coming.

Great continuation of the Star Wars story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was a kid Star Wars came out and was a big part of my childhood. I have always enjoyed the original 3 movies and brought both of my sons into the Star Wars fold. The next 3 movies came out and they were ok but did not hold up to the original 3. They did not have the same look and feel of the originals. This movie does not fall into that. It has a similar look and feel of he original 3 and fits in perfectly. Now to be honest, it is a sort of re-telling of the original Star Wars movie with new characters and of course some old. Some of you may not like that. Also there is a death that I did not like but some of you may not mind. The sound and picture quality is great. This is a very enjoyable movie and your kids will love it.

Great continuation to the story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was very entertaining and it continued the story. The action was great and the effects were amazing, however i will be the first to admit the that story is very similar to the first original SW movie (a New Hope). The movie looks great in BR and it sounds amazing. I am slightly disappointed that this movie didn't originally come out in 3D BR but i see rumors that it might come out later this year, so if you have a 3D capable set i would hold off longer since they are obviously trying to double dip on their fans which is very disappointing, which wouldn't surprise me if they release a 4K BR version later on as well. I still recommend the movie since it looks great in BR and it brings back memories of the original movies!

The Force Awakens with beautiful bluray release!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This release is already a must have if your a Star Wars fan but this is much much more, not only does this great new addition of Star Wars that includes the original cast look great on bluray, this release comes with a ton of bonus features that make this purchase a must have. Several hours of making of features including an incredibly in depth look of the making of this film that has a run time of nearly 2 hours. Also this release comes with some interesting deleted scenes which were really cool but most of the clips were under a minute which didn't add much to the film ultimately. This bluray release is one of my favorite releases to date because it came with almost everything. I only wish we had the 3D cut to add to with the ser.

Awesome movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Star Wars "The Force Awakens" steel book is a great addition to the Star Wars collection. The steel tin the discs come in is very sturdy and attractive. I like that it has the DVD and Blu-ray version and that comes in handy in case something happens to one of them you have a back up disc. The set also comes with bonus features on a blu-ray disc and a code for a digital copy of the movie! The movie itself was fantastic and had most of the original cast. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I really enjoyed the movie. I didn't really like episodes 1 thru 3 as much as 4 thru 6 and this movie was more like the original movies 4 thru 6. The Force Awakens is a must have for your Star Wars collection!

The sale price convinced this loyal Sci Fi Geek
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to say this right from the start. I'm a geek for Science Fiction. (also like some Fantasy, Horror, and some action/adventure - ex. classic Connory James Bond) Also grew up a huge Star Wars fan. That being said, this is a biased review. When this Blu Ray combo disk came out, I also got $30.00 off of Star Wars Battlefront for my PS4. (included special promo and gift card.) So I totally enjoyed this disk combo. There are a lot of behind the scenes making of features that came with it. For the price and special promos I did love this purchase and I actually bought it the day after release. I don't regret buying it either. For the movie, being a fan, was awesome. Add to the fact I bought the video game as well. Well worth it.

I love this movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was awesome it really learned from the prequels. It had scenes that reminded me of the original trilogy like it feels just like a new hope I love the characters and story and basically the movie was the best Star Wars movie since return of the Jedi but I do wish there was more captain phasma in it but that's really all oh and general smoke was just like a cgi monster instead of like the empirere but that's all the cons the rest are pros Han Solo was cool as always I like that they kept Luke a secret and when they blew up star killer base it seemed realistic since most people say Rey is Luke sky walkers daughter I'm going to say Rey sky walker was unbelievably amazing and same as Finn and all the rest of the characters

The Force is strong with the Steelbook version!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered this when I first saw it. The steelbook itself is top notch. It has Kylo Ren on the front and Captain Phasma on the back. The Star Wars logo is even embossed on the front cover! It looks far better in person vs the ad. As for the Blu-ray movie, it's AWESOME!! Picture and sound quality are superb! The set also includes another disc containing tons of bonus features, behind the scenes and making of as well. A DVD version is in the case as well as a digital copy. If you liked The Force Awakens in theaters, you'll love this BB exclusive steelbook set! A must own! AA++

Great job, Disney!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up watching the first Star Wars series in the 70s & early 80s, and have been a fan since the beginning. My kids enjoyed the second series (Episodes I, II, & III) when they were growing up, although personally I only found Episode III to be a worthy installation. So I was excited to see what Disney might do with this most recent Episode after all of these years waiting. In short, we all loved it. Was it perfect? Of course not. But overall I thought they did an outstanding job with casting, story line, and production, enough so that I saw it in the theater twice (some of our children saw it even more), and we purchased the Blu-Ray within a few days after its release. We now look forward to Episode VIII.

One of the best Star Wars movie, yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grew up with Episodes 4,5 and 6, and couldn't stand the prequel trilogy with some exception to the last one, but this one is up there. i think it's pretty cool that Rey, a girl, can stand her own against the boys. Captain Phasma was kinda disappointing, but I think they might show more of her in episode 8. Poe, Finn, Kylo Ren and BB-8 all new and very well received. In addition to the new cast, we get a reunion from the old crew with Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewy, RD-D2, C-3P0 and a small glimpse of Luke Skywalker. What happens between father and son in the movie is hard to watch since Hans is one my favorite characters. Hopefully episode 8 can bring us more emotions, more drama and more action. MUST SEE MOVIE!!!

MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great story and addition to the Star Wars Saga. Even though I was leaked a fact without a spoiler alert first, it did not take away from thoroughly enjoying the movie. The new characters that were introduced along with the characters that we all know makes me even more wanting to see the next episode coming out. The bonus features in the 3 disk set was worth the little extra money. Good action, story, and some humor too, along with exceptional special effects.

COLLECTORS EDITION
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Special Collectors Edition packs all the punches. It comes loaded with everything you could possibly need to fanboy all over the place. To be honest I only pull the fixins out once a year, usually during my Star Wars Christmas binge. This was before the 4K boom within the last year so this does not include that edition, which is sort of mind blowing to leave that one thing out. My one real gripe is that it was over produced so this SPECIAL edition ends up feeling not so special. And if you're a collector it's a little disheartening to walk into Best Buy 2 years later and seeing it still sitting on the shelves for full price.

Opt for the Blue-Ray DVD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Force Awakens movie was an excellent rebound from the much maligned prequils. A very fresh take on the Star Wars movie franchise and sure to win fans both old an new. As my summary mentions you should get the blue-ray DVD if you can as I noticed it had extra special footage. Since I won't buy another DVD player I had to get the non-blue ray DVD with no extra special footage :( and the only swag I got was a cheesy promo insert :( :( It made me kind of sad that for what I paid for this DVD I should get a step up from the Wally World bargain DVD grab and fight with your trailer park neighbor bucket deal. While I give the movie itself a solid A I will give whomever sells these DVD's a solid D- in marketing these. I can only figure that since I didn't get the blue-ray one that the one I bought was done so with the aforementioned Wally World bucket cage match in mind. Not that it would have held up to it though as the plastic case my DVD came in had broken tabs when I opened it up. Fortunately I had a spare case laying around to fix that problem. Would have at least felt better if they had given me a 50% off coupon for a sleeveless T-shirt with free beer stains! Would I recommend the non-blue ray one to a friend? Only the ones I don't like of course!

Really great edition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased this, simply because it was the coolest looking edition (in my opinion) of the movie available, but now I'm really glad, because my collection is uniform, as I recently got the whole saga in Steelbooks. As far as the movie itself goes, I personally found it to be a great addition to the series, with lots of nods to the originals, and it sticks to the "Star Wars Ring Theory" (look it up if you have the time, it's pretty cool), which basically means that each movie in each seperate Star Wars trilogy, corresponds to its parallel in the other trilogies.(Episode 1, 4, and 7 all have mirrored stories and themes) Not nearly as Disney-fied as I thought it would be.
