Star Wars: The Force Awakens (SteelBook) Bluray
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Wars: The Force Awakens (SteelBook) comes with Blu-ray/DVD Digital HD Copy! This steelbook has some great collectible pictures on it and a great case that will hold up over along period of time. If your a Star wars person this movie is just awesome and make you want to watch it over and over. Great action and movie dialogue as well as some comedy and as well as good drama a little of everything that makes this film work with the previous 6 movies if this Star wars series of films. I suggest to anyone thinking about buying this movie you will get your money worth just on this case alone but it don't stop there as this movie is great to watch and own.

The best collector's edition I could find
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My personal problems with The Force Awakens' storytelling aside, this steelbook edition is pretty great for collectors who are looking for a nicer version that the standard edition found in most stores. I was going to purchase the Target special edition as it had a cool cover and extra bonus features (something this, sadly, lacks) but the Target edition is one of the flimsy, cheap, paper/cardboard cases. Really? In 2016 you couldn't spring for the basic plastic case, Target? Never fear, though, this steelbook is sturdy and features the only character in the movie that's given any depth (which is sad, because he's basically a whiny villian). Enjoy!

Good start to the next chapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very hesitant to go see this movie. Matter of fact I waited until the DVD came out to watch it. I remember the first three films from when I was a kid and we lived for them. So when the prequels came out I was almost sickened at how shallow and pointless they were. Episode III is really the only one worth watching. So I had mixed feelings and expectations for Force Awakens. While not as immersive as the original three it certainly is a good start for the next chapter in the SW saga. Some highlights would be a great duo of protagonists, no corny and unnecessary sidekick/comic reliefs, and FINALLY a good villain. Actually I find myself really liking Kylo. So much better a character than any of the ones from the prequels. SPOILER ALERT! I was actually happy that they killed off Han Solo. First off Harrison Ford is not believable in that role any more. Second, there really isn't a place for him in the stories anymore. I mean he hasn't been a 'smuggler' for quite some time. Don't buy him as a general either. So I like that they killed him off. Plus it works well within the story line. Overall I really like this movie. I can't wait to see how the next films develop. Thank you for not ruining the franchise, Disney.

Star Wars, finally back to form!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The original Star Wars Trilogy are movie classics that stand the test of time with its excellent movie magic story. However, the prequels featuring Anakin were nothing really worth remembering, except for the decent third act. Here comes Star Wars The Force Awakens (which makes no mention of the prequels) and all that has changed. Its an amazing movie script featuring old and new characters seemlessly transitioning the franchise to a new generation of viewers. Yes, it borrows elements from the original trilogy. But to be quite honest many scify movies have done so to lesser results. Amazing movie period!!! Nice packaging to boot!

Great movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the prequel horror stories (Revenge of the Sith) was alright. My enite family saw this 3 times in theaters, I saw it 5. It was a great way to rejuvenate the franchise. When the Blu-Ray was released, I had to get it. I didn't regret it. We have watched it twice. The quality is prestine and surely worth showcasing your HDTV. My Best Friend picked it up recently and we used the Blu-Ray to help calibrate his TV. We can't wait until Episode VIII in a year and a half. Rogue One, will be out in December and the end of that masterpiece will directly lead into A New Hope. If you loved this movie, swing by your Best Buy and pick it up.

Exciting Surprising
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the Star Wars movies and this latest edition is no exception. I was taken with it from the moment the movie started.. At first I was disappointed in the choices for characters but as the movie progressed I was more aware of the talent. As usual the excitement was breath taking The special affects were amazing. I was disappointed when one of the characters died but that is story progression. We have to see how it plays out in subsequent stories. If you haven't seen it, SEE IT! Better yet purchase the DVD or Blue Ray. You will be awed with story and the creativity and breath and scope of the special affects as well as the acting.

Great Movie; Room for Improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.J.J. Abrams actually played this one safe. The movie hit all the nostalgic factors I had hoped it would. Hit all the graphical effects I wanted. Pushed the Star Wars lore forward into a new direction, but honoring the identity of the original series. The reason I said he played it safe though, is that this didn't really bring much we haven't seen. More of what we have seen (and actually loved) Washed away the bad taste of 1, 2 & 3; but not much more of what could be an amazing series again. Just like his Star Trek series, it was a great reboot - honoring the source material. Now I'm just ready for the storyline to blow me away going forward.

New life back into STARWARS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would say this movie with out a doubt is the most popular film of 2015 and one of the most hyped up a film can get. This movie introduces us to new characters who are very interesting but as the film goes on I could not help but think this movie is too hyped. It is a great film with great visuals and acting and does have a good plot even though it copies from a new hope. The movie is not perfect though I thought it was entertaining all the way through but just could not make feel like it lived up to all the talk of the film unlike something like Deadpool. When the movie was finally getting to a close I was ready for the ending until it had ended the way it did. The last 20 seconds of this film easily catches anyone's attention and makes people want to not only want to watch the next Star wars film right away but also makes you a little mad. The force awakens is smart, funny, entertaining and just the right amount of energy the star wars films have needed to get them back on track. This for sure is worth buying I just think there have been better films to pick up like the hateful eight, ex machina, mad max fury road, spotlight, the big short, etc. P.S. Harrison Ford has the best performance in the movie.

Star Wars Returns to Greatness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember so very well when the original Star Wars movie came out. What a thrill it was! The whole first part of the series was magnificent. When, after the long wait, episodes 1, 2, & 3 came out, the theaters were filled with expectant fans. While episode 1 kept its promise of Star Wars greatness, episodes 2 & 3 were serious downers as we were forced to endure whiny Anakin Skywalker's infantile journey to becoming Dark Vader. Now we have approached this latest installment, "The Force Awakens" with a certain amount of skepticism. But it did not disappoint! Indeed, the "force" of the original films has awakened in this latest installment.

Great Installment to the Franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had not seen a single Star Wars movie. So when this was released on Blur-Ray, I figured I watch the entire franchise...seeing as I've had it for years now. Anyways, the original episodes (which are IV, V, and VI) were amazing. The follow-ups (I, II, III), not so much so. But this one, fell right in line with the original episode. The Force Awakens is an installment that will create many fans of the new generation. I was thoroughly pleased and surprised as I was expecting it to fair like episodes I, II, and III. The Force Awakens is basically Episodes IV, V, and VI combined into one movie. Great movie that will be enjoyable for all.

Star Wars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as continuing the story goes well done. whatever kind of fan you are from (it's a movie to I was at the release of A New Hope), there is something for everyone the return of old loved characters and the introduction of some new characters with a great deal of interest for their future. This (not following the EU) production and continuation into a new era of the Start Wars Universe has the ability to delight and entertain. We can argure your point of how the empire is at their weakest when they have a super weapon later, Just kick back make some popcorn and enjoy a continuation into one of the most epic sagas of our time.

Entertaining, but not original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, it was more the result of JJ's return to actual models, characters with makeup and props, the locations without the use of CGI, etc. where possible. All of these are what helped to give the original trilogy a look and feel based in reality, unlike the prequels. Still fantasy, but with a depth and scale that made everything a little more believable. Story however, as many have stated, is as close as a near duplicate to a New Hope as one can get. Luke is now Rey, there is the New Order, which is essentially the Empire, they have a massive weapon, now the size of a planet instead of a moon, preparing to destroy the Rebel Alliance, etc. etc. Still that is not to say there isn't something to like here. I felt that this gave a broader range of Star Wars fans, like myself, what they wanted. A return to what made the originals great. It was entertaining enough to keep my 4 year old son planted in his seat for the movie, which in itself is an achievement. While the story is more carbon copy than original, I think this movie strikes all the right chords with the majority of fans, while still being entertaining for fans young and old.

If you haven't seen it, buy it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even if you have seen it, well worth adding to the movie library collection. The movie is excellent, and sets the stage for a new series of movies, not to mention the upcoming spin off movies. The blu-ray edition lives up to the expected video and audio qualities. Extras are well worth watching. The only question I would have is will there be different versions later (or box sets is more features or extended editions).

The extras are great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is not about whether or not you should buy this movie. Star Wars is one of those things that you either like or you don't. So if you like Star Wars this is a no brainer. If you prefer to wait until the next 2 movies are out and buy a "trilogy", then go for it. But for those who do decide to get it, I typically never watch the extras in movies but if you are into Star Wars beyond just watching the movies then I think you'll enjoy the extras. On the Blu-ray vs DVD debacle, I like the quality of the Blu-Ray playback, and plus this box has also digital copy, so no need to make manual backups of your movies.

Great version of a great movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This version of The Force Awakens came out several months after the initial release on Blu-ray and DVD. Like many others, I had already purchased the initial Blu-ray release, but it isn't the first time that I've bought a Star Wars movie multiple times and I'm sure it won't be the last. The main draw of this version is that it includes the 3D edition of the film. If that doesn't really matter to you and you've already purchased this movie, then there's really no reason to re-buy this edition apart from the cool packaging. Otherwise, this is the best version of the movie that's currently available.

Another triumph for Disney and Lucas films!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another triumph for Disney and Lucas films! If you enjoyed the original trilogy, you will likely enjoy this newest addition to the saga. The story line seems to borrow from earlier films; however, it also brings back much of the magic that the original trilogy possessed and the prequels clearly lacked. Moreover, it relies on well cast, interesting characters (both old and new) rather than artificial looking special-effects and regrettable, cartoonish characters such as Jar Jar Binks. Daisy Ridley was a great choice for the female lead. The screenwriters only true mistake was.... (SPOILER ALERT) what they did to Han Solo.
