Star Wars: The Force Awakens( TFA) is an exciting, action-adventure film that holds up to the original Star Wars trilogy. It takes place thirty years after Return of the Jedi. The Empire has fallen, but a sinister group called The First Order rises from the ashes while the Resistance has attempted to rebuild the Republic. TFA picks up the pieces for a seamless transition to its own story. When it came out on blu ray, I got Best Buy's steelbook edition. I am a huge fan of the steelbook cases. If you're a movie buff or a collector, they stand out and make your collection look nice.

After getting burned by the Prequels, I was hesitant when I went to see The Force Awakens but boy do I love this movie! It easily falls in right behind Empire as my all time favorite Star Wars movie (it will take a lot to knock that one off its pedestal). This disk is great because I can have it both in Blu-ray and watch it on my glorious TV, or take it with me on my iPad with the digital download, and I was able to give the DVD to my best friend who has yet to join the 21st century and get a Blu-ray player. I really should stop being friends with him... Great Blu-ray set of an awesome movie!

This is a great Star Wars film. It might not be quite on par with the original trilogy, but that could just be my nostalgia talking. Still, the characters and plot is solid, and it's a great tie in to the rest of the series. If you haven't seen it, then shame on you, but I won't post any spoilers here for you. Just know that yes it's very similar to the originals, but has enough differences that you're left satisfied. You might not really notice them when you first see them, but each time you watch the movie, you realize how much different is is and come to like it more.

Missed this in the theatres, bought the digital version from VUDU, but I had to have the 3D version. Saw it was on sale at Best buy for $5 off, so I grabbed it. Glad I did too. Very entertaining from beginning to end. Just two low points. Sorry to see Han Solo killed off. Like seeing an old friend go. The other low point was that I bought this movie after Carrie Fisher had died. Seeing her on screen, knowing she was no longer with us in real life was sad. If you are a Star Wars fan, you need to add this to your Star Wars collection. May the Force be with you...always.

The film looks beautiful in 4k, the sound is fantastic and there are lots of bonus features.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows that this is an awesome movie. It's so much better than the 3 prequels and it stands up to the original 3. Only complaint is that maybe the story is a little too parallel to the original. The Blu-ray packaging is good. It comes with a DVD version and a digital copy. For the digital copy you get several storage options like Vudu, Cinema Now, etc. I picked Google play because it's the easiest one to use. The extras are good too. Lots of behind the scenes footage and a few deleted scenes (I'd liked to have seen more). Overall well worth the price.

It had been a tense couple of years leading up to the release of Ep VII but boy was it worth it. This movie so much fun and had the perfect amount of nostslgia to keep most people happy. I even got a little teary eyed when han and chewie step into the cockpit of the falcon for the first time. Sure there were some bits n pieces here and there thst coulda been tweeked, and there some people out there that think this movie is wrong. What we have here is an incredible film that's a throwback to three original. And to all you haters, just bury your head ib the stand and stay home next time.

This was a good part to a twisted timeline of events known as Star Wars, It brings new characters along with fan favorites all grown up. Daisey Ridley as the lead character and 1st female Jedi for the series is absolutely awesome. For the new sith being Kylo Ren was a great twist, who is the son to Harrison Ford Solo, and the amazing Carrie Fisher Thank you for all you gave us through out all your years of acting and film. May she rest in peace and god bless her forever. Just a great ride in a galaxy far far away.

Please add this 4k version to the rest of your collection. The Hdr is great and the overall picture is excellent.

Kept me interested through out the movie, good for what it was trying to achieve

I love the Force Awakens so much and the 4k quality is stunning. A must have upgrade for any Star Wars Fan!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a good start for a new generation of Star Wars movies. It is a good movie, but I wouldn't say it is better than any of the original trilogy movies for Star Wars. For the 3D, it is excellent! Definitely one of the best movies I have watched on my Samsung 3D HDTV and for that it is a 5 star rating. If you haven't got The Force Awakens and have a 3D HDTV, this is the version to pick up. It also includes previously exclusive content to Target, along with a few other new extras from the 2D blu ray release in April. May the force be with you!

For whatever reason, the 3-d release did not come out until well after the 2d blu-ray. I suppose suckers like me now own two copies of Episode VII! Fortunately, nothing to be upset about if you are in the same situation, as this was a great purchase! The package is fun and well done, and the extras are great. The 3-D version of the movie, while post-converted, is very well done and looks great. The only sad thing is that TV manufacturers are abandoning 3D at lightning pace. Regardless, if you are 3d capable and enjoyed this movie, do yourself a favor and pick it up!

While there are a few to many plot holes to ignore. Overall, The Force Awakens has more than enough fun, enthusiasm and returning characters to re-launch the saga that we all remember from our childhood. The new leads of Finn and Rey do a great job and while I'm not 100% sold on Kylo Ren as the villain I'm willing to be patient and see if he develops beyond the petulant child of the series. While he's no Darth Vader he's far better than Hayden Christianson from the prequels. For anyone who was a fan of the original trilogy definitely give it a watch and you won't be disappointed.

The force awakens is a great movie from top to bottom. Yes it has many similarities to a New Hope but the new characters are fantastic, the returning original trilogy cast is back as well. If you are a fan of star wars you've probably already seen this numerous times. The special features are cool, but those who like commentary tracks will be slightly disappointment by the lack of one here.

Not on par with the first trilogy...but a decent effort. Special effects are great.

This is a must have for all Star Wars fans to watch this on 4k! I was able to get this for half off!

Not the best movie in the Star Wars series but still a quality effort and enjoyable.

since this was filmed in 4k the transfer is very good. no remastering needed unlike the older star wars flicks

The Force Awakens carries on the tradition of George Lucas's Star Wars saga with just the right tone. There's enough familiarity that we feel the continuity of the story and the Star Wars universe, but enough novelty that we feel that something new is being added to the whole. Director J.J. Abrams was certainly the right man for this delicate job. The film catches us up with several old friends (although we lose one in the end), an introduces some new characters who have the potential to carry on in the battle against the Dark Side. Add this movie to your collection today!
