I saw this film twice in the theater and five times (so far) on this beautiful Steelbook Blu-ray. The video and audio quality are jaw dropping! The special features disc is packed with goods and an awesome two hour, four chapter documentary. And it even comes with a DVD I'll never use :) and a convenient Digital HD code. If you were waiting for the Blu-ray 3D like I was, I think it's worth double dipping and getting this for now. It's my new favorite out of my entire collection! Here's to Rogue One and Epidode VIII!

The movie was great. I really liked the incorporation of lasers. I like lasers. Sometimes they even use laser swords! There were many different colors of lasers, which was very cool. If there is another movie like this one, I would like to see it. Lasers are what make this movie great and I really hope there is another laser movie like this one.

    The Force is Back

After suffering through a snoozefest of a movie (Phantom Menace) and two less-bad-than-the previous installment sequels, the Force and all the magic surrounding it is back. Instead of trying to explain coma-inducing political maneuvers and showcasing bratty characters with little or no charisma, the emphasis is back on what it should be: action, bravery, and fantasy. Abrahams gets why the first three Star Wars movies are such an integral part of millions of kids' and adults' lives, and he fills each scene with it.

Great movie becomes great Bluray steel book

I am not going to really talk about the film here except to say It was great. The movie did exactly what it needed to do in order to relaunch the franchise, reintroduce characters, and set everything back up for a better future than ever before. That out of the way, the steel book bluray is a great addition to your collection, if you bought the first six films also in their steel book form. I am a huge fan of these steel books, and bought the first six films as steel books...so it only made sense to get the 7th.

Who hasn't seen the movie by this point? The blue-ray is definitely worth the price. In this package you get the blue-ray with excellent picture and a solid audio mix, extras, a DVD, and a digital copy which can be watched on all digital devices in HD. If you were to buy the DVD separately, you would spend at least $15. The HD digital copy is $15. With this you get all of those and the superior blue-ray transfer. If you like the film and want to watch it over and over, this is the clear and obvious way to go.

I saw this movie in my local IMAX 3D theater. Love it so much that I was impatiently waiting for it's release day on a 3D format disc just like I had been waiting for it on December, theater release day. When finally, the day arrived, 3D format was not available. So, I purchased the Blu-ray. Then months later, Disney finally does what it's known to do best. Nevertheless the movie looks AWESOME in 3D and the audio sounds GREAT on my surround sound. Now...impatiently waiting for "The Last Jedi."

To get directly to the point, yes, the story very much parallels the story from "A New Hope". I personally am not bothered by this. The characters are fun and get themselves into, and (mostly) out of big, exciting situations with flair. The settings and technology are similar enough to, but different enough from the originals that you can see the lineage. And of course, there's the Falcon... Fun, exciting, and enough new twists and turns that you can't help but have a good time... May the Force be with you.

Great disk content, poor cover art

One gets steelbooks because they are both fans of the movie and wish to have a long-lasting collectors item. Otherwise, we'd save the money and get a cardboard covered disk and throw away the cover to save space. Unfortunately, the cover of this steelbook is pretty boring: Kylo Ren and Capt. Phasma. Phasma who's seen in about 5 minutes total screen time in the movie. Would have been great if the cover had the collection of characters seen in the Target exclusive version (Google it). But, the contents of the steelbook is where the true value is found. The Bonus Content is great (and there's a great deal of it). I waited until this Best Buy steelbook was less than $10 on sale before I bought it because the cover is so unremarkable. At least the disk contents (and digital download key) make up for much that is lacking in the cover art. It's a great buy at this price point, just not a best buy.

This is a promising start to the new trilogy. Loved seeing Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill again, and the new characters are engaging. The humor in this episode was very quick and natural, unlike how forced it seemed in the episodes IV-V!. And since it is the first time around for this new, refreshed franchise (and George Lucas is out of the picture) I don't have to feel betrayed by changes to the original. I hope that they let us enjoy this version without changes or enhancements down the road.

I have always been a Star Wars fan. I'm not super die hard but I've always thought the stories were excellent. What I can say about The Force Awakens is that it's got the best of what made the original Star Wars movies from the 70s and early 80s great but it also has the speed, excellent cinematography, and great plots that are indicative of truly excellent movies. My family and I have watched it several times since we bought it. My young kids are now becoming a part of a new generation of Star Wars fans.

First round of this film's distribution, I'm sure further down the line another will be released that looks shinier, has more stuff, or more disks. Those version comes with three. The film in DVD & Blu Ray and another with special features. To be honest the special features are a bit underwhelming. Would have rather had a BB8 plush : / Of course in special features they can only go over so much since they still have two (?) other movies to make. This steel book is likely to go with the other sets of steel books (of the prequel trilogies) that could be purchased at best buy, for those completionists out there. Are the days gone when the purchase of a big film would come with a lithograph, poster, or something? Interstellar came with a film cell and interesting documentary about the science behind the story. But overall, decent first release edition I'll probably regret buying when somethjng more fancy comes out.

While I lament the lack of hard science fiction production in Hollywood, of what is produced, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was quite well done. It captured the mood and dynamics of the original Star Wars films with a minimum of current slang and “I got this!” The editing, directorial choices, acting and musical composition were first class, from my perspective. The IMAX 3D presentation that I viewed was spectacular! I look forward to a grand conclusion to the series.

I enjoyed this movie a lot in theaters. This is my first 3D movie purchase, and I am really impressed with 3D capabilities of modern TVs. One word of caution: this bundle includes a digital copy of the movie. You have to first enter the code on a Disney website, and that gives you a few options as to where you want to download the movie (itunes, amazon, etc.) The options are nice, but the system doesn't seem to work perfectly, and I had to call customer support to get my code to work.

I grew up with star wars so I've watched every single one wasn't sure how this one was gonna live up to the expectations of everyone including myself but I must say I was surprised.perhaps I loved it truly more because I got to see han, chewie, leah, and luke again it was a pleasure to see these characters once more but at the end the new characters grew on me so I say kudos to star wars force awakens.only wished lucas would have kept going on but jj did a good job watch it people you won't regret it...

You've probably heard of this movie. It's a return to form for the Star Wars universe, a juggernaut of adventure which will put a smile on your face. It's one of the few recent blockbusters worth a purchase on the quality of the story alone. However, A/V are also exceptional, and the Bonus Features - something almost entirely neglected for initial releases in this age of the greedy double-dip - are not only stacked, but superb. DVD + Digital Copy included. Highest recommendation for your film library.
