Although I regret that it was not released with the regular blu ray release, I waited and double dipped when it went on sale. I hate when companies double dip customers, but I see no way to avoid it for this release. I purchased the steel box blu rays whne they came out so at least I have something different. This 3D release does come in different packaging with lots of bonus content. The movie is crisp and clean with great soundtrack.

Believe it or not this is my two year old's favorite movie! Rey is a good example of a strong female hero. She enjoys the suspense of the credits of all Star Wars movies. The beginning is the best when she watches Rey slide on her "sled" and put stuff on her "tractor." The new generation seems to embrace Rey, Kilo and BB well enough to replace Luke, Darth Vader and R2. She does indeed enjoy Darth Vader more than Kilo.

Well the long awaited episode 7 has finally made to DVD. It's been many years since the last Star Wars movie and I enjoyed it like all the rest of them. Time has finally caught up with the origional actors, but it's nice to know that they were there. And now a new generation of Star Wars fans will continue to enjoy the Saga! I was 10 yrs old when I saw the origional and its one of my all time favorite movies. What can I say, I love Star Wars!

I may have enjoyed this movie better if George Lucas would have got his hands on it and worked his special brand of "magic". George seems to have a knack for tweaking his past projects, making them far superior to the original versions. Pick any episode, IV through VI......ok I can't keep this up... I enjoyed Episode VII, more than expected. It will hopefully turn out to be a decent continuation of the franchise. Digital copy is a nice bonus.

Having seen "The Force Awakens" about 2 million times in theaters, I was skeptical about how much I could or would enjoy the movie at home. Answer - very much I could enjoy it! This blu-ray offers great AV and features! This is the best any Star Wars film has looked in its history of home entertainment. Moreover, the Cinematic Journey features on the disc are pretty compelling. It's a no-brainer - great pick up and just as good at home!

Nothing could sum it up better than Han, "Chewie were home" ... It's a reunion of classic characters that help define the sci-fi genre as well as introductions of new generation of hero's. The action is intense and real heartfelt moments as the hero's rush to find the Galaxy's Savior, Luke Skywalker !! Truly amazing picture quality and theatre sound immersing you fully into this world from this blue ray disc set !!

I enjoyed this movie when I saw it at the theatre, but it just felt as if it wasn't complete or something. Its kinda hard to explain, but I still liked it a lot, enough to buy the blu-ray copy. ...Whats annoying to me though, is I wanted the 3D copy, but nobody had it. Why make 3D movies to play at the theatre, but when they release the movie for retail, they won't include the 3D copy?? I wanted it in 3D because of the awesome special effects.

I was extremely skeptical of anything new in the Star Wars universe. I was a die hard fan but the prequels just bummed me out so much that I'd let myself ignore anything else coming out of the series. I have to say that I've had my confidence renewed and am looking forward to where the new trilogy goes. Force Awakens felt familiar (maybe too familiar) but introduced enough new ideas and characters that I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

Having seen this film 5x in the theaters, I could not wait for the DVD. The bonus disc is filled with some gems and some behind the scenes tidbits. The movie itself...I'm tired of everyone under the sun comparing it to the other ones, over analyzing each character and so on. This movie is outstanding. View it for what it is. A movie taking place 30 years after ROTJ. I could go on about this movie, but it's a must have it you are a fan of SW.

Granted, on watching this at home a few times I have to agree that they aren't breaking any new ground here. Han Solo, while fun for fans in his return does not quite live up to Obi-Wan (Ep 4) as mentor and guide to the young adventurers. Yes, there are plenty of plot holes. Despite all of that, this is the reboot the franchise needed to keep me paying to come back to the theater. 5 stars simply because it has restored my hope in The Force.

I should have known Disney would put the 3D edition out and should have waited instead of buying the first Blu-ray release. Anyhow, the additional extra features in this package are nice add-ons, but not essential viewing if you aren't interested in having the 3D disc in your collection. Also nice that the special features are all available streaming online when you redeem the in-pack codes on the Disney Movies Anywhere site.

As a huge Star Wars fan I was worried the Force Awakens was going to fall a bit short when compared to the original trilogy, such as the prequel Star Wars trilogy had. Fortunately this was not the case! Greatness has returned! The BluRay is exceptional, with a good transfer to the small screen. The extras are pretty decent although the deleted scenes were a tad underwhelming. Star Wars fan or not, this is a film the whole family will love!

There are plenty of reviews of the actual movie, along with the quality of the blue-ray audio and video, so I'm not going in that direction. In my opinion, of the released Star Wars movies, TFA is right after Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars; easily in front of Return of the Jedi and of course the prequels. The nice part of this version is the Best Buy Collector's storybook case - Star Wars fans and collectors will want this, even as other (better) versions of the movie are released in the future. My only complaint with this version is the lack of commentaries. While the extras are nice (bonus disk, digital code, steelbook), I find the lack of at least one commentary track disappointing. I guess Disney has to save those for the next 'super complete' release.

Excellent film with great picture and sound. A great adventure.

There's a reason Star Wars gets so much respect and adoration, because it's a timeless franchise that has set a standard many others have tried to replicate. The Force Awakens is a welcome addition to the well established saga; sure, people may critique it's parallels to the original Star Wars, but hey I'd argue that it works to their benefit since it proves how faithful and how connected this movie feels when put alongside the others.

I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, so when I heard they were releasing this collector's set I was really excited. I'm also a fan of 3D movies so having the movie in 3D was also a bonus! The set itself is really nice. It has a high-quality case reminiscent of the Trilogy set. It also comes with a ton of bonus features which will keep even the avid fan entertained. If you're a fan of Star Wars, I definitely recommend this!

I was very pessimistic and even affraid when it was announced that Mr. Abrahams would be taking the reigns of Star Wars. Both were unnecessary. This film is phenominal in every way. It breathes new life in an old way. Star Wars is funny and lighthearted again. This isnt the uptight mess that was the prequels. Things are gritty and dirty. Equipment breaks. Droids are sold for scrap or repaired with old parts. This is classic star wars.

My wife and I went twice to see Star Wars - The Force Awakens. We saw it the first day it was released and we went two weeks later. Great movie. So I got the SteelBook edition and the packaging was excellent. Ran it on my home theater system using an Oppo Blu-ray player. Excellent digital transfer for the video and the audio sound track was outstanding. The package contained 3 discs so you have lots of options. Highly recommended.
