Better than Ep1-3 and almost on par with 4-6. Looking forward to to the final episode and yet, not looking forward to it.

When my wife and I first saw this in the theater, I was absolutely crushed. I felt completely let down. I didn’t like the direction of the story, the way Luke ended the movie, and so on. I was disgusted by some bizarre scenes. I was sure I would never own the movie upon release. The immense hype that I had built up watching trailers and featurettes was let down completely. When the home video release came around, I found myself in possession of $25 in Rewards, so I picked this up. I am so very glad I did! Knowing what I was going in to, the movie was much better the second time. Watching the awesome 90 minute “making of” special feature, and taking time to really ponder Rian Johnson’s point of view, I am more and more onboard with it. I still find the sea cow scene absolutely disgusting and unnecessary. The entire casino planet subplot seems unnecessary. And the Princess Leia Superman scene is just lame (not to mention they let her back in through a single door that opens on to hard vacuum and there’s no consequence...). Also, Phasma’s big scene is much better in the deleted scenes version. All that said, I do recommend it. I’m looking forward to watching it again soon.

Love the Steelbook and movie was ok also. Wish they where more like the originals BUT could definitely be worse.

The Best Buy steelbook exclusives are top tier and always worth spending the money on based off quality alone.
