Well, this Star Wars film is probably the one that has the most varied opinions of any in the franchise. Personally, I found a lot to like about it and a few things that I found questionable. But, it's a Star Wars movie so, if you're a fan, you'll own it. The positive that I think everyone can agree on is that the film is full of amazing visuals and sound design. And both of those elements shine through in this 4K Blu-ray. This is demo-quality material. And with hours of extras, this is a great set overall. My only reluctance in giving a 5-star rating is because the film itself was pretty polarizing, even by Star Wars standards. I like it, but it wasn't my favorite. The technical qualities of the disc are definitely 5-star, though.

Wow, This is a huge movie all by itself, and they had a lot of old ground & new ground to tie together and wrap up... so there's not enough room in the galaxy to really get into it, much less enough space for adeqquate review in a Best Buy customer review, so... It was visually amazing... the actors all did a great job, sound was on point, and the storyline was good, though not dialogue heavy, but the actors relayed volumes with their performances, so it was easy to know what was going on, regardless. Now that this story arc is concluded, I'll be able to put them all together and watch them, one after the other, to see how well it worked as a whole. Overall, a very impressive movie.

Now I do want to start off by saying that yes there are a lot of people that have so many technical questions about Star Wars and what they've been doing in the last two movies in the direct story line all I've got to say is come on let's just enjoy a Star Wars film because this film is a really pretty film visually and the sound sounds great if you have a pretty good surround sound system. The action is great and the connections between the characters is fun and serious in their moments. I am a big Star Wars fan so I'm just very glad that these movies are coming out so we can enjoy with our kids and Friends. I definitely recommend the film especially if you're caught up in the story

    Different Star Wars

I love Star Wars when I first saw it in 1977, waiting in long lines to watch it a couple of times. When I saw Force Awakens, it seemed like a respin of the original to accommodate a new generation of viewers. I liked it 'cause I love Star Wars, but it wasn't anything new (story wise). This changed considerably in Jedi, and for that I really liked it. I guess a lot of Star Wars junkies didn't like it because it was a major deviation from the Star Wars universe. I like change, I like being surprised, I like the unexpected, so I liked Jedi. 1st Star Wars to be in 4k as well, and I like that as well, looks great, HDR on it is great (Dolby Vision).

The direction Star Wars took after The Empire Strikes Back has never satisfied me. Lucas missed the mark far to often. After the prequels I gave up on any emotional investment in the franchise. Doing so has been the only thing allowing me to enjoy any part of Disney agressivly pushing their messed up taste. Sadly after this movie having killed off most of the original characters I could care less what Disney does. They can call it Star Wars but the last real Star Wars Movie was Empire. Happliy this movie having luke in it redeemed decades of Bantha Poodoo. I agree with Mark Hammel, his character (Luke) would have been better played had they listened to him.

I am extremely happy with this movie, I own a 65 inch LG OLED E6 4k tv and a Oppo UDP-203 4K PLAYER and i was able to experience Dolby Vision for the first time. I loved how well this movie looked! The lighting was perfect, the frame rate was perfect and most importantly I had no issues decoding the surround sound that the movie was able to provide. When it comes to HDR It is a bit brighter and the colors are more vibrant which is not a bad thing but under Dolby Vision the movie looked natural When It came to color and brightness. It is definitely worth buying to add to your star wars collection specially if you have a Dolby Vision Enabled 4k player and tv.

Since watching it a year ago, the unmitigated backlash has led me to reexamine my feelings on the film; on what worked and what didn't. And after a year of thinkpieces, trolling, & seeing a majority of fans rise up past negativity and have a conversation, celebrate the good, and respect opinions...I just don't care about the flaws anymore. The good overwhelmingly outweighs the bad. This movie is great. I'm grateful for an entry that pushes the boundaries of what a Star Wars film can be, rough edges and all. The Last Jedi is a 5-star movie to me.

Star Wars was in serious need of some new angles on a very solid history of loved stories. What if Old Ben Kenobi was more like Owen Lars (uncle owen). Trying to keep Luke from potentially learning and turning evil. Luke was always fearing the worst, to point of almost killing his dark father when he sensed Luke had a sister. Yoda helps Luke place his focus back on the here and now, not out at the stars or future. This is amazing film full of great sci-fi action and putting focus back on the force. Final film will prove this 2nd act to be even more pivotal than it currently seems. The future of this rich universe looks very promising.

Despite many fans claiming it's the worst thing to happen to Star Wars since The Phantom Menace, I actually very much enjoy The Last Jedi. It goes places the other films haven't while still keeping with tradition. Although some moments do feel questionable, I still feel it's visually and narratively one of the most thrilling in the series. Much of the criticism from fans is absolutely exaggerated, but I do see where some of it is coming from. It does do some unusual things and tends to make some risky moves, but that's why I enjoy it. Not your typical Star Wars film, but that's what makes it interesting. Excited to see where the next one takes us.

I bought it to place in my collection, I just can't bring myself to watch it again as it was the first SW movie to actually disappoint me on so many levels. Visually I found the movie stunning, but the story, plot holes and complete disrespect to the original stories were too much for me. One Major issue, beside Luke's storyline, was destroying the FO fleet ... So many rebels died destroying 2 Death Stars and all the had to do was Warp some ships in to them saving countless of rebel lives but they never thought of that? I now have zero excitement for SW movies, Disney needs to tighten their control over Lucasfilm.

I grew up with the original Star Wars Movies. Episode IV: A New Hope. At that time (in the mid to late 70's) they were the best thing since sliced bread. So, this movie is the 8th movie in this saga. If I was younger - I might appreciate these newer movies more. But, unfortunately.... I am "old" (lol). A lot of times I see things in the new movies.... and just think "well.... that's just a spin-off of the original 3 movies. At some point.... I guess I stopped being a "die-hard" Star Wars fan. But, even if the movie was terrible.... I would probably still buy it..... because it is part of the saga. But, I really do miss, the young Luke, Leia, and Han.

    Star Wars in 4K

I haven't found any of the other Star Wars movies in 4K. In 3D, yes, but none in 4K/HDR. Finally, the Star Wars franchise makes it to the world of high end home theater with this movie. 4K Blu Ray is still, by far, the best way to maximize the picture and sound quality of your 4K home theater set up. Streamed UHD is about 15mbits/sec. Off the DVD, it's 10x higher, so less compression artifacts to lessen the viewing quality. On DVD, you'll also get the higher end audio tracks, like Dolby Atmos - with streaming, you'll get a 5.1 audio track. If you like Star Wars, you're going to like this movie and the experience.

While it was good to see Mark Hamil as Luke Skywalker again, the film is a little disappointing. Its not terrible, but not as good as The Force Awakens, and nowhere near as good as the original trilogy.

This is a must have for 4K collectors. Great, crisp picture quality and thunderous sound. The locations are new and fresh for Star Wars movies, with more focus on the two main characters: Rey and Kylo Ren. While there is some debate regarding the creative choices made for certain characters, the movie earns my respect for its ambition. This is a great selection to 'show off' a good home theater.

Growing up in the 70's with the original Lucas trilogy, I've not been a big fan of the prequels or some of the latest Disney-acquired Star Wars movies. Last Jedi has its' flaws, but I think it's better than Force Awakens. The final three trilogy movies in the Skywalker saga all have enjoyable moments and characters, but Rogue One is probably one of the best stand-alone, Star Wars movies since the Disney acquisition. Despite any discrepancies with the Disney films, I would recommend adding the final Skywalker trilogy to your Star Wars collection.

The Last Jedi isn't up there with the best of the Star Wars movies but does stand on its own as a very good film. It takes up where The Force Awakens left off and advances its story lines. The home release has both 4K HDR and Dolby Vision versions so which one you'll see depends on whether your TV and UHD disc player are DV capable. Each format provides an excellent image. The audio, while good, should have been better. Volume has to be cranked up significantly to get the full impact of the Dolby Atmos sound track. If you are a Star Wars fan and have all of the movies in series, you will, no doubt, add The Last Jedi to your collection.

I know people hate this movie, but I'm one of the few who will stand up proudly and say, "it's okay." It may not be great, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. Luke's portrayal is perfect. Since The Force Awakens basically made everything that happened in the original trilogy pointless, it makes sense that Luke would be an ornery, jaded hermit. Everything he worked for blew up in his face. He thought he was making the galaxy safer, but things are worse now than they ever were. So when Rey shows up and wants to be a Jedi, instead of meeting this larger-than-life war hero that she's expecting, she meets an old, beaten-down grump. Their relationship is the core of the movie, and it's great. Also great is the attempt at grounding the sequel movies into some sort of logical progression, where what happens in one movie actually affects the others (again, this is seriously lacking in TFA). The attempt at giving the sequels an identity of their own is nice too. We now know, after The Rise of Skywalker, that neither of these ended up mattering, but they still make TLJ more enjoyable than either of the other two. The other parts of the movie? Eh, they don't fare so well. None of the new characters are ever treated as people, instead they're just plot devices. Even Finn and Poe get this treatment to some extent, and it's annoying. Star Wars thrives on its characters, and outside of Luke and Rey (and maybe Kylo Ren), The Last Jedi drops the ball here. The basic plot is simple and would have worked fine on its own, but everything gets made way too convoluted by all the sidequesting that goes on. So it's not like The Last Jedi is a fantastic movie or anything, but it's easily the best of the sequel trilogy. Whether that's an impressive achievement or not is up for debate.
