I have heard the complaints from Star Wars fans but this film was a great opportunity for Mark Hamill to shine in the spotlight. This is not the best Star Wars film but it does the trick of entertaining it's audience. good moments thruout , a very good ride if you leave Skywalker preconceptions at the door.

there's just something about this movie that many fans found polarizing. For me it was the lame writing and Jason Isaacs and his over exuberant cowboy way of doing things. it just goes too far. The use of Luke Skywalker was strange. However, overall entertaining movie and a feast for the eyes.

The force...Jow often did we hear that term in the original Star Wars?? Countless times. And while all subsequent Star Wars films have all been good in their own right, this film brings it back to what we were introduced to so many years ago...The Force. As you watch it, remember that fact.

I really liked the earlier Starwars, but this one was kind of a disappointment. The new characters are OK, though I liked the original ones better. The storyline is not as good: kind of leans on special effects (which are good for special effects) to make up for a story that is just not as good as the earlier Starwars movies. A really really great movie is Rogue One, a Lucas film that relates back to the first Starwars movie, as being the source of information needed for the attack on the Death Star. It is the "untold story" of how the rebels got the design information. Every aspect of that movie is brilliant, and it may be the best of all the starwars movies.

Needed it for the Star Wars collection but not the greatest movie

Picks up right where Star Wars VII left off. Some may think it's slow, but the typical Star Wars action sequences are more balanced in this one by scenes with some thoughtful dialogue between the main characters. The transition to the new generation also continues. More to come in Star Wars IX.

Although some people think that this movie sucks, i have to say that i had my doubts when I purchased this bluray (didn’t saw it at the theater). But i gotta say now that the movie was beautiful to look at and even more in stunning 4K. Yes it has its dumb moments but overall it was very good.

I could not wait to see this movie at home since i wanted to recapture the excitement that i had when i saw this at the movies. I was able to appreciate it more since i can stop and "rewind" certain parts again and again. My only complaint is that it was not a combo of DVD, Blu ray and Digital

Not my favorite starwars movie. Had some good parts. But not many.

Movie wasn’t great but the steel case was neat. Not worth the money

This is the same old story with a different cast of characters. It's still very good but the story line is getting old, they need to come up with something new. Always a big battle at the end...but, overall, I enjoyed it because I'm a Star Wars fan, I just wish they could find a new story line.

Old school meets new in significant human exchanges. The old action and artistic approach meet the amazing new action, as do the wonderful older actors (best ever, Mark Hamill!!) and their worthy protegees. This film should be right in the Top Three, and that's quite a heap! See it, love it.

The movie is really good but I had high expectations for this movie. That Luke Skywalker will come back, make a difference for the rebels and have an epic battle - maybe for the last time. But no. Luke didn't even want a part of it and in the much anticipated battle, it wasn't even him. Sad.

I was excited to see this movie, as many others were, but the extra content within this DVD makes it such an awesome purchase. I also learned about the online/digital copy that can be linked to your amazon account and then viewed on any device with access! Perfect for a flight or smart TV.

This is not my favorite. A lot of things just seem awkward. I don’t know if it is Disney trying to make this like a Marvel movie but things seemed forced. The visuals are great and the sound profile is awesome. I definitely wish they would have had JJ Abrams direct all 3 to keep the same feel.

There are lots of good special effects and fun moments. Get this version for the HDR and Atmos sound. Just be careful to check your disc for scratches.

It looks & feels like a good Star Wars feeling movie to me. I don't get too caught up in all the pickiness of some fans/critics involving deeply analyzing the story too critically. It's another good-fun Star Wars movie with great characters as usual.

I know that alot of people will say it's an ok movie or it isn't worth the buy, I disagree. I have watched this movie already once a week just because I enjoy the way the battle scenes are done, great character development and all out bad guy butt kicking goodness! So yea, buy the movie!
