What can you say
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know this film created a lot of controversy among Star Wars fans, myself being a life long fan. I however, did not have the same problems with this film. The way Luke was treated was fine with me, even though I'm a huge fan of the originals since their initial release. It is time to change things up a bit, and this film did just that. Acting is well done, story is good and effects, well, what can you say. Effects are amazing. A well worth while Star Wars film in my book.

Some problems, but still Star Wars and fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.O.K., so Leia suddenly finds enough force to survive deep space and fly. Mark Hammill doesn't like what happens with Luke. Still worth a viewing or three.

Not sure about this one...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To much going on at once. I didn’t like how the legacy characters were handled. Maybe the next installment will justify what this chapter is trying to do?

Worst Star Wars film to date
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly, this is by far the worst entry for the Star Wars mythos (outside of the SW Holiday Special & the Ewok Adventure). Having just finished a SW marathon in preparation for "The Rise of Skywalker" it's even more clear as to how far off Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy were when writing and producing this film. Nowhere does SW require such constant SJW motifs. The story has always been about the battle between good and evil, the light side and the dark. The narrative is the classic story of the hero's journey that has graced stories, myths, books and film for millennia. Anyhow, back to the tremendous number of problems with this film. Let's start with how quickly it disregards the wonderfully fun and heartfelt character developments that "The Force Awakens" crested. Immediately Rian Johnson completely (seemingly blatant and intentional) ignores these great character arcs with Rey and Fin, Fin and Poe, Fin and Phasma, Rey and Kylo, Kylo, Snoke and Huxley and the greatest potential of Rey and a Jedi Master such as Luke. It's abhorrent how all these character arcs are forced into an unnatural and unnecessary procession of development. Ugh...I could go on and on and on, but this exhausts me. I only pray and hope the "The Rise Of Skywalker" redeems this abomination.

the best new Star Wars film
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I said it. I know a lot of hate has been generated because of this movie, and I personally don't agree with any of it. This brought back a feeling that Star Wars hasn't provided for me in years. It has a rough plot, and it could use some trimming, but it's ultimately one of the more character driven films in the series in a long time, and I like that. Has a lot of great things to talk about, but this isn't the place.

Love the case
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The steelbook Case is beautiful. The movie is sub par, even compared to The Force Awakens. I feel like the story was disconnected from the previous story.

What, No 3D? Otherwise great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why is there no 3D edition when it comes to home video? We'd have to pay $30 now for 4K, and another $30 for 3D later. As for the Movie itself: Some of the deeper issues about the value of tradition vs modernity is the central issue in this movie. It kind of reminds me of the "unaffiliated with any church" movement this world is coming to. t makes enough connections to #7 that makes #7 look better. I can see a couple scenes that would look cool in 3D like the "infinite Rey" scene.

Excellent picture and audio
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The package includes both the standard Blu-ray and the UHD Blu-ray. I've only watched the UHD version. If you like the Star Wars series of movies and want to own the best version of them that is currently available then I'd recommend that you purchase this version. I don't believe you'll be disappointed with the video or audio quality. I thought it looked and sounded excellent on my home theater system.

Fun movie, great package of Blu Ray and Digital
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love have the combination of the digital copy with the disc. We use the disc in the car when traveling and when watching on the biggest TV in our house, but the Digital Copy is great for planes. The movie has had plenty of reviews. Some people like it, some don't. We loved it. It's Star Wars. And we enjoy it for what it is. A fun 2+ hours with our favorite galaxy far, far away.

Dark Skywalker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, I agree with Mark Hamill and don't really like what they've done with Luke Skywalker's character - just doesn't seem to jive, based on all the other films. Yoda was around a lot longer and never got this jaded! Also there's no really strong evil presence - makes one really appreciate Darth Vader. lol Solo's son is so wishy washy - is he evil? Is he good? Wait five minutes to see. Still, it's Star Wars and fun, just not as classic as the earlier films. Guess it's the times.

4K UHD Review - pretty nice, not all it could be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually really enjoyed The Last Jedi. It says and does a lot of interesting stuff, finally connected me to some of the current saga's main characters, and I absolutely love how Luke plays out despite the contention among fans. Gives me goosebumps every time. The 4K UHD presentation is a mixed bag. It's very authentic to the theatrical presentation's look, but that look happens to be pretty restrained HDR-wise and a bit thin on the black levels with the opening space crawl immediately revealing itself to be more grey than black. This seems to be common with current Star Wars film finishes. That said, I do find the look to be quite nice on my end, the HDR is tasteful, the wider color gamut is very rich and evocative, the full 4K DCP translated wonderfully into UHD home release with lots of fine detail, pixel density, and occasionally nice film grain depending on the cameras used for the shot. I feel at odds asking for Star Wars to be more at home than it was in theaters, but it really would make for a reference quality 4K UHD release, and that's what Star Wars deserves. Still quite enjoyable, and most people might not notice, but if you're expecting a light show from Last Jedi's light sabers and laser fire on UHD, you won't find it. Hopefully episode IX packs more of a visual punch, with more clarity, and ends up with a stellar home release.

Found The Last Jedi
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a Star Wars fan from the very start in 1977, I could not let the opportunity go by and not purchase the end of a great Saga! The Last Jedi just does not seem real. It feel as though time past too fast. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were looking at Stars Wars and Now we have The Last Jedi! What an outstanding production of talent! You will not be disappointed!

The Star Wars Saga Continues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 4k release with Dolby Atmos is awesome. I'm glad Disney finally starting releasing films in Dolby Atmos and 4k. Some Star Wars fans loved this film, others disliked some of the developments, but I look at Star Wars as an entertaining series rather than as a die-hard fan and found the movie to be one of the more entertaining of the Star Wars world. I really loved the audio and video qualities the 4k release offers which enhances the entertainment value.

Not disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, sure, I know people have their gripes about this movie, but I think its one of my favorite Star Wars films. The choices the filmmakers made in this film flips a lot of the tropes of Star Wars on their heads and it was really refreshing to see that. I wish I had seen this movie in Theaters more than once so when it was released on 4K, I knew exactly which version I'd get. Picture and sound quality are great and I couldn't be happier with the purchase

The Last Jedi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie seems to have divided the fan base in half. Seems you either HATED it or LOVED it. I loved it. I think the two entries of the last trilogy are the first Star Wars movies since the Return of the Jedi to feel like authentic Star Wars movies. I had doubts after the prequel trilogy that new Star Wars movies would be a good thing. But they both are so genuinely good and a welcome addition to the Star Wars franchise. And the Steelbook is beautiful!

Hands Down, this is a Top 3 'Star Wars' Film...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film and great for what it is, and it is a great film. Yes, it's long, but to tells a great story and expands more on the characters from prior films. Yes, it's long and lacked character depth for one particular new character, but overall it was a great experience. I truly believe that a lot of people hated it because it didn't match with their fan-fiction and/or one of the hundreds-upon-hundreds of fan theories concocted before the film's release.

Exceeded my expectations.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last jedi in my opinion, is one of the finest entries in the star wars saga. The story was well written. The acting was superb. The action and special effects were outstanding. This film finally showed the full extent of what the force is and it's power. As far as the blu-ray is concerned, the picture and sound are what you would expect from a recent film. The extras are outstanding. Very detailed and informative. I would highly recommend this film.

New and Fresh Approach
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into this movie expecting one thing and from the opening scenes, got something else entirely. I'll admit that at first I was disappointed and unsure of the movie's fit in the universe, but after re-watching it and watching the incredible documentary on the making of it, I have a new respect and appreciation for what they were trying to do. It will not be for everyone, but I have certainly turned the corner and think this is one of the best of the Star Wars films.
