Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as bad as the haters want to tell you! Most weren't even born when the franchise started, so they do not really appreciate how far it has come!

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These movies are all about making money. The original allure is somewhat lost but movie-wise the effects and action are good. Written by me. While the First Order continues to ravage the galaxy, Rey finalizes her training as a Jedi. But danger suddenly rises from the ashes as the evil Emperor Palpatine mysteriously returns from the dead. While working with Finn and Poe Dameron to fulfill a new mission, Rey will not only face Kylo Ren once more, but she will also finally discover the truth about her parents as well as a deadly secret that could determine her future and the fate of the ultimate final showdown that is to come. I Liked It
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think that the mistake people make is that they compare these movies to the original 3. On their own merit these last 3 movies were spectacular.

Star Wars: TRofS
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A good, action movie with decent story line. Whether you agree with the end and how it concluded, there was some closure. Would have been 5 stars but just not one of my favorites in the series.

A Finale for now in the Star Wars saga
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the critics have called this not the greatest Star Wars movie in the series I disagree I waited like a lot of others to see this in theatres and while its not my favorite. This finale for now episode in the Star Wars saga does not disappoint and even has a bunch of surprises (which I love when a movie does that) to not disappoint the audience and in fact makes the movie a lot better. The Rise of Skywalker does not disappoint and in fact is worth seeing a few times just to fully enjoy this epic finale 42 years in the making.

A Disappointing Conclusion
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If one was to go back and watch the prequels ("...but why?!?" you cringe!) with as objective a perspective as possible, with the allowance of framing them in a new light given the events of the Star Wars universe that have unfolded since their release it's not hard to see that Emperor Palpatine has always played the role of puppet master; at first hedging both sides against one another before fully giving in to his true Sith tendencies and converting a young Anakin Skywalker to follow him on that path. And while J.J. Abrams initial film in this sequel trilogy, The Force Awakens, seemingly had no interest in resurrecting the long, thought-to-be dead Emperor there is sound reason (believe it or not) in bringing this antagonist back to round out all three trilogies in a way that makes for a resounding stanza...just as George Lucas always intended. It's about rhyme; a recurring metrical unit where the past predicts the future. There is a great sense of scope and history in these films and while Disney has admittedly fumbled a massive opportunity with these sequels, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, seeks to try and rectify the lack of cohesion in this latest trilogy and bring everything together through that aforementioned scope and history in a fashion that is both meaningful to our new heroes while imparting the identity of those original heroes to inspire this new generation to continue to work towards the betterment of the galaxy. Yes, The Rise of Skywalker more or less crams two movies into one and yes, it is genuinely disappointing that this series wasn't better constructed from the beginning given how much this world means to so many people, but taken what we're given Abrams and co-writer Chris Terrio (Argo) are able to connect the dots in a satisfying enough way where the right questions are answered, some mysteries remain yet feel destined to be unraveled on Disney+ while other inquiries are made that no one seemed to be asking, but are quickly brought up and resolved just as swiftly. It's impossible to please everyone and as much as I hate to admit it as a long-time, but not die-hard fan of the franchise, the discourse around these films is often toxic and demeaning. It's okay to simply enjoy whatever brings a smile to your face and more often than not, as I sat experiencing The Rise of Skywalker for the first time, I had a smile on my face.

Beautiful cover but not so good film
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok let’s get this out of the way I didn’t like this film. I saw this movie multiple times in theaters and I liked it less each time. It’s a shame because I’m a huge Star Wars fan and did like every Disney Star Wars film. Now with that being said this steel book is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been upset that the Star Wars steel books started out with matching covers but then Slowly starting going away from that concept. The Rise of Skywalker uses part of the teaser poster with Rey battling Kylo on The destroyed Death Star and I just love the image. I recommend the cover art over the film. So if you need to complete the saga go with the Best Buy exclusive steelbook.

A Fun Movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know there has been lots of criticism of Rise of Skywalker as well as the other sequels, but admittedly this was still a fun enjoyable movie. My wife and I took our now 9 year old daughter to see it and it was her first Star Wars movie. She really enjoyed it and has gotten into the whole Star Wars series. As far as the DVD itself, I like getting the steel book versions and with the 4K version you not only get the top of the line DVD but the digital version as well which my daughter can watch on her tablet. Overall a good purchase.
