    This adapter works great for connecting 2.5" SATA drives to USB-C ports. However, it will not work if you're trying to connect to a hard disk drive that requires an external power source (like a PSU inside a computer). I only realized this AFTER buying the adapter. I don't blame the manufacturer for this, but my lack of thoroughly reading the entire description of the product before buying. I decided not to return it, however. I can see myself still needing this in the future if needing to connect a 2.5" hard drive to my USB-C port.

    Nice adapter, convenient with newer laptops that have USB-C ports built in. Your speeds will likely vary depending on the device connected and its max speed, not by the adapter.
