    The worse mouse

I personally own FINALMOUSE PRO TENZ, GPW, VIPPER. And I can tell you very responsibly that this is the worst one among a bunch of competitors, worse than G502. The asymmetric design makes your two fingers on the right have to be placed together in a very uncoordinated posture. This is the worst point of the whole mouse, not to mention that a mouse can be heavier than GPW after making a hollow design.

The SteelSeries - Aerox 5 Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse has quickly become my favorite mouse! It feels great in the hand, is well-made, has a cool look, and the mouse buttons are firm enough so that my resting fingers don't make accidental mouse clicks! The accidental mouse clicks are a problem for me especially the right mouse button, and with this mouse I can rest my fingers and the buttons don't accidentally click. The mouse scroll button has a nice firm tactile feel to it. The mouse is pretty lightweight (74g), but has enough weight that it feels nice while moving the mouse around the mousepad. On the top of the mouse just above the scroll wheel, there is a button to quickly change the DPI setting of the mouse. This works great when you want more precision or more speed while moving your mouse. Makes it super easy to switch between the different speeds. In total there are 9 programmable buttons. The mouse has programmable RGB lights on the bottom of the mouse. The back 2 lights provide most of the visible lighting that you can see through the exposed mouse electronics and the clear plastic area on the back underside. I'm not quite sure why they put the 2nd set of lights further up the bottom side and didn't extend the clear underbody portion to that area as the lights aren't very visible even through the exposed areas on the top of the mouse. Seems like they could've left these 2 lights out of the build and it wouldn't have made much of a difference visually. Would've improved battery life too, in my opinion. Speaking of battery life, I find with these type of RGB gaming mice that I've owned, the lights really decrease the the time between charges you'll need. I was able to get about a day and a half of play time before it was needing a charge using the default settings. What is nice, though, is that you can continue using the mouse while it's charging with the included mouse charging cable. It does recharge quite quickly too. You can always disable / adjust the RGB effects for longer battery life using the SteelSeries GG software that you get on the SteelSeries website. It allows you to program pretty much every aspect of the mouse from lighting, CPI levels, sleep timer, illumination dimmer, acceleration / deceleration, and button mappings. You can create as many profiles as you like with different settings and also assign them to each game in your game library. There are apps you can download and configure like PrismSync that syncs the RGB across your different SteelSeries devices, Discord for different effects based on events in Discord, etc. The mouse offers 3 different ways of connecting, which is really nice! It's got Bluetooth, 2.4 Ghz with the provided receiver, or wired while charging with the provided 6' mouse charging cable. Just switch the selector under the mouse depending on how you want to connect it to your PC. The exposed design might be a concern for some, but SteelSeries has put in AquaBarrier tech that is IP54 rated for water resistance and protection from dust and dirt, so if you accidentally spill something into the mouse it should be protected. Overall a great RGB gaming mouse!

I really like this mouse. Let’s start with the pros - the weight it feels very sturdy and well built. Not to heavy or to light. The grip is about perfect for my medium size hand. Smooth use - it has a smooth move feel on multiple surfaces whether is a pad or hard surface didn’t detect any difference in performance. Programming is as Easy as can be through the software. Click latency was very good - could not detect any noticeable lang in button clicks or move. Charge/ battery is pretty good and I think about where it stated i honestly never drained it. If I start with fully charged and recharge when I done it never drained so if you charge it when you done it will always be ready to go. Now of the could be better - the edges is hidden when you play. Moving the light a bit in the package might help but really only look at the light when I’m not play so no big deal Now for the bad - the mouse I have keeps disconnecting from the system. Not sure if it’s a hardware problem with the mouse or a drive let problem. This is only real complaint I have - kinda a pain to have to reconnect every couple of days because it lost from my system. Based on that not sure I could recommend this mouse which is a same cause when it works it’s really good

TLDR; A cool and unique take on the lightweight gaming mouse. SteelSeries delivers again, unsurprisingly. I spent a good amount of time playing games like The Forest, Cyberpunk and Battlefield 5. I’m not generally used to playing with such a light mouse and I did experience a bit of a learning curve. In the beginning I found myself overcorrecting, especially on small movements. After an hour or so I started appreciating the 74g ultra lightweight design. The battery life is impressive – with a claimed maximum of 180 hours – the USB C rechargeable mouse really delivers. I’ve only played for a few sessions, and I don’t think I’ll be needing a change any time soon. There are so many other cool features to mention but just a few standout items – Dual 2.4Ghz and BT5.0 connectivity, IP54 rated water resistance, 9 button design, fast charging… it really does go on and on! I do find the pricing a little higher than comparable competitors, but I can’t complain about the quality and design. All around great gaming peripheral.

The first thing you will notice when you take the Aerox 5 out of the box is how lightweight this gaming mouse it is for the size. At 74 grams, it is not the lightest you can find but it probably is close. For a full-size gaming mouse with LED lights, an IP54 rating against dust and water, wi-fi and Bluetooth and a 180 hour; it probably is the lightest. In review : Box contents – Beyond the obvious, the Aerox 5 includes a nicely braided USB C to USB a cable. You can use this to charge while you play. Also included is the SteelSeries 2.4 GHZ wireless dongle and wireless extension adapter. The adapter is designed t work with older systems that do not have USB C ports ( which you need to use the wireless dongle.) When you open the box, the additional accessories are under a flap that says “For Glory.” I just love that tag line. Set up and connectivity – I plugged the unit in with the USB cable and was using the mouse a few seconds later. I expected there to be more set up and only plugged it in to charge. I unplugged it, put the wireless dongle and I was up and running in a few seconds after that. Somehow, I missed that the software was installing and interrupted the process. I could not get my system to continue with the set up, so I had to download the software from the SteelSeries website. Once downloaded, I could adjust the sensitivity, the LED lights, button assignments and more. The software is well done and comprehensive. Build quality and ergonomics– The SteelSeries Aerox 5 has a unique mesh design that reduces the weight and lets the LED lights really shine through. Because of this and the lightweight, I expected the mouse the have some flex and feel fragile. This is not the case, the Aerox is solid and there is zero flex. I have no qualms about the durability. I have Razer top of line wireless mouse and the Aerox 5 definitely feels sturdier. The mouse feels great in a palm grip style and should feel great to most players. It is designed to be used with a claw grip as well, but I never found that to be a comfortable way to hold a mouse. Performance – In all testing, the Aerox 5 had no latency whatsoever whether I was using Bluetooth, 2.4 GHZ or wired. Glide was silky smooth. Aiming and pinpointing was very precise and the buttons with perfectly reactive with just the right amount travel. It is very clear that SteelSeries put a lot a thought into the performance, and they hit it out of the park. The SteelSeries Aerox 5 is the best gaming mouse I ever tested. The 9-button layout is just the right amount buttons to not feel encumbered. I reviewed a competing brand that has 12 buttons and two rollers and I hated the design. The Aerox 5 is just a top performer in all categories except one – the price. At the time writing, the everyday price is just too high. Bestbuy prefers I avoid mentioning price directly but this is a negative factor considering you can get a top of the line SteelSeries keyboard for only a few dollars more. If it was not for the price, this is easily a 5 out of 5 rating. Regardless, this is the best gaming mouse I have ever tested.

Beast gaming mouse! I'm not usually one for ultra light mice, but this one has blown me away. Without a doubt it's the lightest wireless gaming mouse I've ever used, off not one of the lightest gaming mice I've ever used period, and it has a battery in it! The software seems fine, but I'm not one to really tweak my whole experience, other than maybe have a couple middle of the road dpi settings to add to my quick change options. I'm actually surprised for being a right handed mouse, how ambidextrous it feels. It does have a right hand bent, but not as much as other stalwarts of the gaming mice party. It's plenty responsive, but make sure to game with the included dongle over 2.4ghz vs using Bluetooth. Bluetooths polling rate (like how much the mouse location reports per second) is substantially lower, than the included RF transmitter runs at, so while the mouse will work for office work or browsing over Bluetooth, I wouldn't game with it. Overall it's a great gaming mouse, great feel, RGB, high dpi, good battery life. Steelseries really has a believer in me!

Greal for my gaming on the go as well as general PC usage as well. This mouse has a lot of things going for it. It has a lot of programable buttons in very convenient places. I like that I have multiple options to use it. I plugged the USB dongle into my PC and paired it via Bluetooth with my laptop. All I have to do is flip the switch and it connects almost instantly. The software allows me to program all three lighting sections separately, so it fits in with the rest of my lighting designs. I also could change what the buttons did between machines so on my laptop it had really accessible browsing buttons and on my PC I could have custom macro setup for when I'm gaming. It has five different modes for customizing how it tracks based on the game. In my MMO playing I can get from one side of the screen super fast but it can be super finite on games that need finesse. There are some down sides. The pads on the bottom didn't glide as smoothly as other mice on my table top. I also don't like that the lighting "turns down" if I'm not touching the mouse.

I just bought this mouse the other day and for mouse advertised as a multi-genre gaming mouse it did not disappoint. I was able to comfortably play games without much of a issue, but of course I did have 2 issues with this mouse. I am used to using a finger tip type grip when using a mouse, which this mouse isn't best for, but luckily I was able to adjust quickly by changing up the grip when using this product I recommend using a claw or palm grip, due to the fact that 1 of the side buttons on the mouse is way up near the front of the mouse and it is slightly harder to reach when using a finger tip grip. In the future i'd like to see steelseries movie this side button back about half an inch, so it is better for a user that uses a finger tip grip besides that thought this mouse is a dream to use and because I like so much I think imma use it as my main mouse from now on
