I was hoping this was the mouse to end all mice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this would be my final mouse. The one that ticked every box. It has a shape and weight that is great for any game AND ample side buttons to customize any way you'd want for programs like Blender. I'd never seen a mouse like it and I was so hopeful. Pros - Lightweight - The shape is great (think Rival 5 but slightly lower profile and a tiny bit narrower) - High quality build - It looks great - USB-C & battery life - Steelseries software is easy to use Cons - The side buttons require way too much force to actuate. I ended up causing pain in my my ring finger over time while bracing the mouse so I could press the thumb buttons. For comparison, the Razer Naga X side buttons are much easier to press. - The front 3 side buttons are way out of reach. I have medium/large hands and I had to give up on ever reaching those comfortably. Conclusion Go for the Aerox 5 instead. The mouse shape and quality is great, but SteelSeries totally missed the mark on the Aerox 9. The side buttons killed it.

Good wireless mmo mouse, but BIG
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight, and the open back helps your hand breath. This is a BIG mouse though. I have a big hand and it's a little hard to reach the 2 and 3 buttons due to the angle they are at on the device and how forward they are. I have to hold the mouse at a little bit of an angle compared to how I normally do to comfortably reach all the buttons.

Good Mouse. But the price ouch.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for MMO gaming FF14, some Horizon, and tested this on WOW just because. For MOBA tested this on LOL and DOTA. For work in the IT field the buttons made production smooth and fast. Pros; Very Light, Fast mouse, very responsive, and battery life excellent. Wireless is crazy good both Bluetooth and 2.4g, wired is a type c and charges this baby fast. Wireless dongle is type C as well, wheel tilt is very nice. Software is very easy to use lastly the mouse is very durable yes, I have dropped it twice. Now for the Cons, Button 3 makes me angry… it’s too far and I have long thumbs. I must move my palm to reach it. The wireless dongle seems to scare me even though it’s a type c it seems kind of fragile. Lastly, I had to buy a raised nub for the buttons even though button 5 has a raised marker while in crazy raids my thumb got lost. The price is hefty for a mouse but I needed a wireless gaming mouse. Last con... I lost my back button… It took me 3 weeks to get use to this mouse, even with the cons I still recommend the mouse it’s worth the buy.

This is awesome, but it could be better
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this mouse except for, a few things. before I tell you about those, let me tell you about what is amazing. It is super light. It’s got a bunch of holes in it so that your hands stay cold or or at least less sweaty. I love the fact that you can program the tilting mouse wheel and the million buttons I like the cool lights I like the fact that you can control how fast the mouse moves among other things now here’s a couple things. I don’t like the buttons are too far away from your thumb. You need a very long thumb in order to activate all the buttons, or you have to shove your hand all the way forward, which makes it impossible. The whole reason you buy a mouse with this many buttons is because you actually need this many buttons, but if you can’t reach them now, you’re just back to the mouse that you bought originally they didn’t have enough buttons. They need to have something that sticks out farther on the bottom under your thumb to enable you to grip it better this could be the perfect mouse, and I don’t understand why people forced themselves into maintaining the same design over and over what are they afraid of? They are already one of the number one mice creators in the planet go for it and make it better for crying out loud. I also feel like it was way too expensive considering that I go back-and-forth between this one and one that has six buttons because the six button one I can actually reach all the buttons the six button one was a third of the price.

Too small for large hands but otherwise fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may be a 5 star product, and like every feature about the Aerox 9 except for the vented top which I believe will accumulate significant debris over time, but it just didn't fit my hand. Some reviewers call it a "large" mouse, but it's medium sized at most. I wear a legitimate large glove, and this mouse just always felt like the rattle in a paint can under my hand. None of the buttons were spaced right to prevent me from having to shift my hand around on the mouse constantly. I have other Steel Series products and really appreciate how their ecosystem works, unlike Razer Synapse software that regularly crashes or forces updates to show ads! I ended up returning it and got a Red Dragon M908 impact instead which is also programmable, but has a memory so no support software is required once setup. It was 1/3 the price and actually fits under my hand properly. It's unclear to me what the Aerox 9 really offers for the price premium given that.

Wait for a sale and I hope you have long fingers!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I adore this mouse, it has three major flaws (for me)... 1. Price - I'd be more enthusiastic if it were in thr $100 range. 2. It is not built the best to withstand even small drops. I bought one for me and the wife for MMO use. After returning one with a manufacturing defect, mine was knocked off my desk and hit a soft surface only to slide 2 ft into the floor. This caused the casing to collapse in on itself on the feet becoming unusable. Other mice, including the infamous Naga, has lasted longer and through harder falls. 3. Size - I dont have Kratos sized hands and the front two columns (1-6) are unusable for me. This is huge because to make it sit right where i can press those buttons i get extreme cramps after 2 hours of gameplay.

Amazing mouse for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing at how light this mouse is and how easy it is to configure. Over all a great purchase. However I don't like the software. It's fast and snappy just don't like how it naturally keeps trying to download and dance video clips even though it never asks you.

Great mouse but side buttons are a little awkward
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short version, Great response time so you can't even tell it is wireless. But side button layout is awkward and the mouse size is small. I got this mouse because I wanted to support Steelseries venture into MMO mice. The mouse I am used to is the Razer Naga Pro. The response time on the Aerox 9 has no lag, the cursor never gets stuck and the buttons respond with no lag as well. It uses a USB C receiver so the connection is fast. If you do not have a USB C port do not worry, it comes with an adapter (my desktop does not have a USB C port). Don't really notice the holes when using it, mouse feels fine in my hand. I charge it overnight and used it for several gaming sessions that were 5-8 hours so I had no issues with the battery. If you want to know about saving layouts for lighting and buttons, everything can be configured in the Steelseries software. Make an account and then you can access your layouts on other computers. This is helpful if you game on your desktop, but also have a laptop that you game on when you need to travel. The biggest issue are the side buttons, they are rather large compared to the Razer Naga and stick out pretty far from the mouse. Due to the blocky buttons it is easy to accidentally click the wrong button because your finger slides down. I also noticed when my hands are a little sweaty my fingers would slide to other buttons a lot. This is something that I never experienced with the Razer Naga. The large buttons can be awkward to hit as well if you have small hands. I need to do a different grip for this mouse in order to hit the 1 2 3 buttons comfortably. Another downside is the mouse is rather small so your pinky finger kinda hangs off and touches your desk. If you look at some other mice they are wider on the right side for your pinky to rest on. I think if the buttons did not stick out so much, and were a little smaller, and the right side of the mouse was a bit wider it would be the perfect mouse. I would say feel the mouse for yourself and see if you like it, as everyone's personal preferences are different. If you have not used a 12 button mouse before you may like it, since you have no prior experiences to compare it to. Wanted to leave this review to hopefully see an improved version of this mouse in the future.

Great for the experienced gamer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a MMORPG player, my whole entire life I have used just about every optical gaming mouse you could think of after I started using wireless devices I got used to the freedom of the cord! This mouse Takes the cake, first impressions were great with steel series program on windows being easy to update and customize my experience. Battery life was impressive after reaching 100% I only lost 5 % while gaming for 4-5 hours, I did adjust my settings to lower the lighting brightness as you really don’t see the led lights since you are playing games and hand covering the majority of the device. Still had great look as I walked back and forth from the desk! Not to mention the ergonomics of the airy feel with no solid plastic covering on the hands, a bit of a sweaty gamer lol. Great in all sorts of aspects will give this a great review and a must buy for gamers like myself !

Light but too Light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mouse is extremely light. So light that I think it's too light. Didn't like the way my thumb positioned on the side button panel. Other than that, it's a nice travel mouse to use for gaming.

Good, but doesnt last.
|Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[Employee of bestbuy] Ive had this mouse for 6 months, its been pretty good, responsive, steelseries has great software but i have 2 main issues, number one the battery life is nothing special but it does alright and you can still play while it charges. Ive had 0 issues for 6 months actually, until now. Last night I got off went to be zero issues, i come home today and now my scroll wheel just doesnt work, ive tried all their support tricks, uninstalling reinstalling drivers, and software, and restarting pc. Ive done basically every trick except taking the mouse apart. Plus if you do want to take it apart to fix it, you have to rip off the skid pads which are basically unusable if you bend them in anyway and you need glue to get it back on. Overall it was cool while it lasted but for a 150$ mouse to go bad in 6 months, honestly should be giving it less stars.

Good mouse with some flaws.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because of how many buttons it has and it is SteelSeries. I love the lightweight, desgin, and SteelSeries easy to use engine. What I don't like is the fact that the mouse will all of sudden disconnect and will take forever to reconnect and will do this in the middle of gaming. Sometimes, I have to connect the mouse to the USB cord just to get it to connect. Ubisoft Connect launches faster than this mouse connects. After this, I might switch to a different brand because I have also had issue with their headset.

Good job here
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lighter than expected, polling rate is also on par with most mice with the same price point, and connectivity on this one does not suffer the same problems as its counterpart. If I had to point out one issue, the battery dries out in less than a full day's use.

Careful with this one.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is now 7 months in the making. By the 3rd month of owning it I noticed that my connection was cutting in and out. Thought it may be a software issue. Up dated drivers and still I get drops from the mouse to the receiver. my scroll wheel sometimes doesn't work from time to time. I'm glad that there is a blue tooth option, no problems there. Hope I just got a dud. Build quality is nice and how the 12 side buttons feel are a but too forward. I like how light the mouse and responsive.

A great versatile, accurate and lightweight mouse.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Aerox 9 is a nice lightweight MMORPG mouse. It's hard to find mouse that has the 12 buttons on it's side and is also light not to mention that's also wireless! The side buttons do require a little bit of pressure from the thumb to press which I prefer. I've noticed that some mice make hitting the side buttons way to easy thus resulting in accidental side clicks. The Steel Series software is pretty straight forward and easy to use. It's a little clunky at first and took a little bit of time to get comfortable with it. The feet on the Aerox 9 are "so, so..." meaning they're not the worst but they are definitely far from the best. After some general use they start to give you a little bit more resistance than what I would prefer. My only other thing I don't care for is the holes in the mouse.... Yes, I know... It's supposed to help it in being lighter but, I find it's way to easy for things to fall down into the holes and dust to build up on the inside very quickly. Overall the versatility of the mouse is great. It's accurate, light weight, and adaptable. Making it one of my daily drivers. I switch between the Aerox 9 the G502 and the Corsair Sabre pro wireless, depending on what I'm doing.

Almost the best mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this mouse. Its super lightweight and has the mmo side buttons i wanted. The mouse scroll wheel is just awful. Ive been fighting it for two years and now it just doesnt work. From what I've read online, its something with the sensor. I wanted to open the mouse up but didnt have the proper tools. Ontop of the scroll wheel just not working, a huge pain point is the mouse turns off automatically. This is to save power but its consistency with turning back on is awful. Sometimes it will be within 10 seconds, others its two minutes. It drives me crazy. Everything about the mouse I love. I can get over the auto power off but the scroll wheel just not working doesn't make this mouse viable for me. I still own it as a wireless mouse but it sits in a drawer as i had to replace it.

Connection problem mouse
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mouse is light and comfortable enough, however it disconnects all the time while in direct sight and within 1 foot of the dongle. As i bought is for gaming, waiting randomly 3 seconds for it to reconnect is not acceptable. I have triedball the suggested gixes and uodated all the druvers with no effect. It looks like this is a common issue. Side buttons are usable but not great, a coule of tactile pips on some buttons would have been great.
