Excellent, Smooth Sliding, Mouse, Great Software
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Aerox 9 Wireless Ultra Lightweight mouse, with the combination of excellent hardware and software, is easily a 5 star mouse for me! Design I love the look and feel. It has a slight right hander's curve to it and fits my hand perfectly. I also like the concave left and right mouse buttons that keep my fingers in place and just feel right. The gridwork of holes on it, besides helping to keep the weight down, I think gives it a great look. I was also excited to see it has a USB C USB transceiver/dongle instead of the common USB type A. It worked in my Windows laptop (of course it's made for that) as well as a Chromebook and Android phone that I tried it with. Why on a Phone? Sometimes I cast from my phone and plugging a USB C dongle directly is a nice option especially if you don't feel like pairing it with a device via Bluetooth for a single use. This is getting into the features so I'll save the rest for that section. I do have to mention the braided cable too, which you would expect on this mouse but fwiw it has it - and it includes a plastic Velcro wrap on it. Features I'm going to try to highlight some of the features instead of writing a lot about them so this review doesn't get too long. - 3 Zone lighting: There are three lighting zones that can be configured with the same or different colors, any colors you want, as well as different movements of the colors through the three zones. There are a number of options here under "Active" and "Reactive" effects. - Smooth gliding: I thought it was a joke when the box talked about "100% Virgin-grade PTFE" to make it slide extra smoothly on surfaces. It turns out they were not kidding. I could feel the difference! I compared it side by side with another high end mouse I have and this one glides over my desk noticeably smoother than the other. I looked it up too and the material they're using is probably the smoothest material that's practically usable for a mouse. - Angle Snapping: I never heard of this but have had times where it would have been very useful. This allow you to control how easily you want the mouse to move perfectly vertical or horizontal, snapping it to an imaginary grid. Don't let this scare you. It's off by default, but try it! This could be very useful and you can change profiles with a button klick - Lots of buttons: I'll talk about this more when I talk about the app but I'm liking the side buttons! By default, the numbers are the numbers 1-0 and then "-" and "=". So in gaming, I can use them to switch weapons quickly. When working, I set 10, 11, 12 to some other functions like backspace, which I end up using a lot, and then an <Alt>-<left-Arrow> macro for a browser "back" button. So the buttons are not just programmable but there are lots of options built in for what you can have them do and then a simple but very functional macro editor too! - One of my favorite features is actually that you can use it plugged in via USB, Bluetooth, or with the proprietary transceiver! I tested using it on different devices too and it works great! Obviously, many of the features require a PC or Mac and the Engine app installed as well as the proprietary transceiver/dongle - All mouse wheels I've used have a different feel. This one has an excellent feel. It has great grip and needs just the right amount of effort for me to roll it up or down, one of my favorite that I've used. There is no frictionless scrolling on it though. Performance From physical smoothness on the desktop as I move it to high DPI (they call it CPI for Counts Per Inch which makes since because it applies regardless of screen resolution, desktop scaling, etc) of 18,000 CPI max if you need it, this mouse doesn't hold me back! You can add, edit, or remove the predefined CPI levels keeping up to 5 at a time that you can quickly switch between using the button that is towards you from the mouse wheel. Steelseries Engine app This is one app that's used for all the configuration of your mouse. I like the way everything is pretty much on one screen instead of going between a million tabs or something. The layout feels clean and efficient to me. - Button mapping: There are tons of options here in lots of different categories. It makes it very simple to map buttons. You can save different configurations of the mappings too. I mentioned the macros earlier. They're done well, tracking not just which button is pushed in the recording but tracking button down, button up, and time down so you can capture exactly what you need for about any situation. There was a back button for the Mac but I couldn't find one under any of the other categories though so I made one with the macro editor. Besides just assigning something to a key, you can change if it is "Played Once", "N Times", "Repeat While Pressed", "Toggle Auto-Repeat", "Toggle Hold", as well as have them play on key up or down, giving more options for all the functions you may assign to a key! - Lighting: There are three lighting zones and the same Engine app let's you configure those settings too. You can change power saving options, have a color on solid, have different colors (up to three at a time), or have them change. There are a few presets you can use or make your own settings. - The Polling/Report rate adjustment can be set from 125 up to 1000 reports per second. It's ready for gaming with 1000 as the default. - There are also some additional lighting and power saving settings as well as acceleration and deceleration control. - The app and settings are available in Bluetooth mode but some of the settings are not available in Bluetooth mode. Battery life For me, the default settings dropped the battery life faster than I expected. It does charge fast though while using it plugged in and there are plenty of battery saving settings if you want to enable them. It's rated for up to 160 hours. Summary This is an awesome gaming mouse. I've also found it great for moving across a high resolution desktop when I'm working with two 4k displays and a 1080p display all without desktop scaling. The high CPI abilities make the large desktop easy to work with. The only two things I could think of that I would love to see different: 1. The button mapping/configuration editor would be easier for me to work with if it had a larger window, or maybe a sizeable window. You'll see what I mean when you use it. They put a ton of options in, which is great, but the fact that you can only see up to 10 of them at a time in a little window makes the process a little tedious. 2. I wish it would have some sort of frictionless scrolling option for the wheel but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Almost perfect but the button layout is awkward
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been wanting a lighter weight 12 button mouse for a while after my razor naga trinity started having issues clicking. This is good not great because the side button size and layout. My hand size is average and it would be good for large hands. With my palm on the mouse my thumb tip is on 5 but not very comfortably able to press it 1-3 buttons are a reach. Since this is currently my temp primary mouse I changed keybinds from the 2 typically mouse buttons (I think MB4/5) to 8 and 9 on the 12 button aerox, because that felt most comfortable in FPS games just for reference. I probably wouldn’t recommend because it could be annoying but it fits what I want currently and I can hit 1-3 easily on my keyboard so I’m happy

Excellent gaming mouse!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent mouse for MMO/MOBA gaming. It even does ok for FPS games. For such a lightweight mouse, it's surprising how well it works. It fills the hand well, Glides easy over mousepads, and the configurable DPI means you can set it for whatever game you're playing. It's waterproof (for those of us who occasionally spill when we're playing) . The battery says it lasts over 180 hours and I believe it. A great feature in addition to the wireless dongle is that it's Bluetooth enabled, so any PC/laptop that has Bluetooth wont require an additional dongle. I've noticed no lag using Bluetooth, or the dongle. The Steelseries engine software is easy to use and makes programming a breeze. You can change the colors, DPI, and change button mapping. The only faults I can find is that it doesn't fit my hand well, or the way I like to hold a mouse. I can't knock anything off for that since it's a preference and not the fault of the mouse. I'd knock half a star off for the side buttons. They're pretty close together and a bit too far forward for me. They also aren't distinguished enough to get an accurate feel. I found myself pressing the wrong buttons regularly, though that may lessen in time as I get accustomed to it. Unless you've used this type of mouse before, there will be a learning cure for the side buttons. The left and right mouse buttons do have a good solid click and feel. Responsive without needing to worry about inadvertent clicks. The build quality is top tier. I'm a fan of Steelseries in general. No matter what mice I've used, I always went back to my original WoW mouse (It's like 12 years old now and still going strong) This could be the mouse that permanently replaces it. 100% recommend it.

Love this mouse, Glad I switched
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first SteelSeries purchase, and I will be going back to them. The price had always made me hesitate, being that I was afraid of paying more just for the name. I now know that's not quite the case. The build of the mouse is incredible. It's lightweight, yet does not feel cheap AT ALL. Response time is as good as any wired mouse I've owned. The shape of the mouse looks simple, but when holding it you realize that it is designed with ergonomics in mind. RGB lighting and effects are something that hold the least amount of weight when going into me deciding on a purchase, but I will say that these are great. For a mouse, it seems like it's difficult to get a lot out of RGB but the Aerox 9 is the exception here. (The open lightweight design gives RGB more exposure). I'll have to mention that SteelSeries GG is great for programming the buttons and setting the lighting effects to how you want, but I still favor Corsair's ICUE (Unpopular position). If I had to recommend any changes, I would have 2. 1. Some sort of grip or texture on the Right-outside of the mouse. It is very smooth, and when pressing some of the extra buttons the mouse can be hard to grip. 2. Some of the programmable buttons could use a redesign in shape.

Good for new pc users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good light weigh mouse with lots of buttons. Great for a user coming from console gaming to pc. Only issue is it is a honeycomb shell so it does get a lot of dust and dirt inside.

Light as a feather!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless Gaming Mouse for a few days now and I have to say I am sold! I have used so many MMO style mice in my years of gaming, and they all seem to have one issue or another that I just can't get over. This one does not have that problem at all! The lightweight design is something I never dreamed would make such a difference, but boy does it! I have ran through many hours of some of my favorite games like World of Warcraft and New World and I do not have the normal wrist fatigue I have experienced with other mice. I have to attribute this to the lightweight and nimble design of the SteelSeries. I have all my macros set up, which took only minutes! They work flawlessly and make things much easier when raiding. The RBG on this mouse is really solid too! The skeletonized design makes showing off your favorite lighting pattern even better! The battery life has been excellent as well, gaming for what seems like forever without having to plug in to charge!

Gorgeous design, cheaply executed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a nice design, smooth dpi for my fps games. That’s the only thing I’m giving it stars for. I was in love with it for the few days that it worked. And then, about the fifth day, it stopped registering that it could connect to my computer, acting like the wire wasn’t even there. Wireless connection was even worse. I couldn’t find any solution. Upon researching I found that this is a common and ultimately unfixable issue with this mouse, so I returned it promptly. I wish I could have kept it. It’s gorgeous and the design is airy which is nice for people who get sweaty hands like me. But yeah, faulty connection software, both wireless and wired. Paying $100 for a mouse only for the connection software to die within days is very much a ripoff. Buy another mouse for your own benefit.

Fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall design is fluid and feels good to hold for long sessions. Battery life is as advertised albeit with NO rgb on, and polling rate at 125hz. So realistically its about 40hrs(on 2.4ghz) with RGB and polling rate at 1000hz. All in all, being a replacement for my Corsair Scimitar Pro, i couldnt be happier. And finally having a wireless gaming MMO mouse with this advanced of tech is wonderful.

Okay gaming mouse for thin fingers with 1 major fl
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a nice light weight gaming mouse. My main issue is that i have large thumbs and the buttons are so close together its nearly impossible to single them out, thus resulted in me barely using more than 4 of them. Another major flaw, an apparent common issue is the scroll wheel will stop working, something that had happened to me this week (May 2025).

Great mouse, but try fingertip grip style
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great MMO mouse. When I first picked it up, it surprised me at how lightweight it is. I've used MMO mice from Razer, Corsair, and Redragon. They were all multiple times heavier than this one. The only downside is that if you are dead set on using a claw or palm grip on this, you may be irritated, especially claw grip users, unless you have very long fingers. The side buttons definitely take up more space lengthwise than competitors' side buttons, which means you have to move your thumb more to access all of them. If you are in palm grip with your palm all the way back, your thumb may not naturally rest on the first row or two of the side buttons, and you'll have to lift your palm to access the first couple of rows of buttons. Unfortunately, I have tiny hands so I have always had to use a fingertip grip out of necessity, and all of the buttons are still easily accessible in fingertip grip style.

Incredibly Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to search long and hard to see that I’ve had this mouse only a little over a year. Only a little over a year and already, 1 and 4 are not working anymore. At the price paid for this? Unacceptable. I’ve had some nagas for a very long time. This is not good build quality. And yes, the other reviews are correct, this mouse is too big. I have very big hands. I am 6’2 tall (1.88m). This mouse is still really too big. I bought this and an old budget Logitech G600 at the same time as I had always wanted to try the G600. I gave the G600 away to a friend as I figured I didn’t need both. Guess what? It still works! He has no problems with it. I no longer trust Razer in general, and now I no longer trust Steel Series. As this one is now useless and frustrating, I went to look into a G600. I literally bought a wired G600 from Japan off ebay rather than look into the current offerings on naga style mouses. SteelSereies: do better. This is an incredible disappointment.

The Best Gaming Mouse
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly a one-of-a-kind gaming mouse!! There has been much hype around this mouse and I can see why. The amount of customization on this mouse is, honestly, overwhelming, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you are good with customizing gaming mice to your game and loading profiles, then you won't have any issues here, if you aren't, you will still be able to use the mouse in basic functionality and still have stellar performance with tracking and ease of use. The great thing about this mouse is its versatility. It can be wired, it can be wireless via a dongle or Bluetooth, leaving you with 3 options for your setup. I like using it wirelessly with the dongle, there is basically no latency at all and I have yet to have any issues with using the dongle. The mouse is extremely lightweight (so light that it takes a while to get accustomed to). You can charge it via USB C as well for wireless function which is great. The amount of settings for RGB is insane, you can customize this mouse to look exactly how you want. The best part of all, my KD ratio has gone up since using the mouse ;)
