They have previously all been wired and only lasted 3 to 6 months before needing to be replaced. This product was the first wireless headset I've tried. It is of high quality, gives my son endless freedom of wireless connectivity and less components to break (wired ports ect.). Lastly, I found this particular product to be $35 less than other major stores at Best Buy. Overall extremely happy with this purchase.
