I didn't realize the 7.1 ss for this headset only works on win10. I bought it to use with my ps4, but only use it on my pc now.

These are mediocre headphones, for the price I was expecting better sound and the mic is spotty.

Head set would probably be 4 stars but the proprietary wires that come with it are garbage. The whole rig has less than 10 hours of use and the cables get a bad connection making it impossible to hear anything. Just had to order a new set of cables from steelseries, let's see how long those last.

I ended up selling these to my girlfriend. She uses them with her DS now. I was underwhelmed by the surround sound. The low levels were not powerful enough for me and you only get the full quality when plugged into a computer. I was looking for an pair that suited my Xbox, pc, and switch audio needs

for the money i spent i thought i was getting a much better product. If there is noise outside, like from gardeners, you will have a hard time hearing, even though your ears are covered. i tried to return them but apparently i am the only person who didn't know about the 15 day return period. i am stuck with these things, which i do not like. at least i can give them a bad review and help others stay away.

I first saw the new Arctis headset on PC Gamer and was blown away by the design. It looks so sleek and slim, way different than all the other spaceship on your head gaming headsets out there. Upon trying it out I was first impressed by the comfort. It's super light and just fits right away without even adjusting anything. The ski band that SteelSeries hypes totally works in make the headset stay comfortable over time. So I fired up some music and tried out the headphones. The sound is really great. I watched some of the new Star Wars and loved how clear every shot and explosion were. Played some Fallout 4, and again was really impressed with the sound quality for $80! It comes with interchangeable cables, which is great, because I switch it back and forth between my PC and my PS4. I don't have to crawl behind my desk each time, I just swap out the adapter for the PS4 controller. Oh, almost forgot the microphone. I've used a Logitech and a TurtleBeach headset before, and the mics were always terrible. SteelSeries definitely did something different on Arctis, because this one is super clear! Good enough to even do some streaming with. Love the Arctis overall. Job well done, SteelSeries.

The headphone package said that they were the best and were better for gaming, so I thought that was so, but this just wasn't so. Right now I can't even talk to anyone on any games on pc because the output on the headphones is broken. Also I know how pc's work. I know how to see if a pair of headphones is working correctly.

I've used a variety of headsets from several brands for years. Playing mostly Xbox One (Destiny, COD, Halo, etc..) , but also some PC gaming (CS:GO mostly). My previous favorites were the HyperX Cloud and a pair of Astro A40s I had for a while. Comfort: The Arctis Headset is so ridiculously comfortable. My ears used to get hot from gaming to the point where I'd take one ear off, then switch, .. repeat. The material on the earcups is super soft and breathable and the headband isn't too tight on my big head. The headset looks simple, but man is it comfy. Sound: I'll start by saying I'm not an audiophile. I simply need my headset to be loud and clear and the Arctis is both. I swear i hear little things that I hadn't heard before. I'm playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and I can hear every little noise the sneaky police are making. I love it. I haven't played much multiplayer yet, but I've made a few phone calls on the headset and I'm told I sound very clear. That certainly wasn't the case before. Considering I paid less for this headset than any of my past ones, I will definitely recommend it to my gamer friends.

First of all, let me say that I have owned probably 5 other pairs of headphones in my gaming career. Most of those being more expensive turtle beaches. These headphones but them all to shame in my opinion. They are the MOST COMFORTABLE headphones I've owned. The sound is crisp and loud. The microphone does a great job of canceling outside noise. I recommended them to a few friends and know all 5 of us use this headset.

I'm not a hardcore gamer, but do enjoy playing for a few hours here and there. I recently started playing Tom Clancy's The Division and wanted to communicate, but the provided PS4 ear bud head set made my ears ring after short usage. I decided to get a nice headset and after reading reviews all day, I went with the Steelseries Arctis 3. I was originally going to get the Turtle Beach 350vr, but it did not have the 7.1 surround sound option and the Turtle Beach Cloud was out of stock. Anyways, this was my first time using a headset, so can't give a great comparison, but I will say they were plug and play. I literally plugged them in and played my game. I played for nearly 5 hours and didn't take the set off once. Usually my ears get hot and feel weird after wearing head phones, but because these fit completely over my ears, I didn't have any issue what so ever. The volume control on the headset isn't great, but that can all be controlled in game so it didn't bother me. I actually had to turn the music down a bit in game. I asked everyone how I sounded and everyone said crisp and clear with no background interference. They fit well on my head and didn't weigh me down or anything like that. I'm pretty happy, I just hope they last. The directions said something about registering online to use the surround sound feature, but I haven't done it yet, so I could only imagine they will be even better once doing so. I have 24/7 tech support with Geek Squad, which covers any and all electronics purchased at Best Buy, so if I have any problem, I will be covered with repairs. Also, a Best Buy employee recommended the Logitech G930 headset that was marked down to $70, but after reading tons of reviews, I noticed a lot of people complained about the wireless connection dropping pretty often. Because I tend to have bad luck with that stuff, I decided to stay away. I don't mind the wire that connects my headset.

    Decent headphones, Poor RMA system

I first bought these because I needed a microphone of decent quality to play games with friends. The mic on the arctis lineup is pretty good for the price, the headphones themselves are comfortable and light. The wires are pretty thin and seem easy to break even though mine were fine, although the dual headphone and microphone jack kind of sucks. If I was going to buy another set, the Arctis 5 would be worth the extra few dollars if only for USB in my opinion. Pros: -Solid Price -Light -Comfortable (don't build up heat around your ears either) -High Quality mic -Look pretty good without being flashy Cons: -Thin wiring that gets tangled easily -Sound was pretty tinny coming from my Audio Technica M40X headphones -Not enough resistance on the volume changer wheel in my opinion, I muted them by accident while scratching my head pretty often All of these would make for a 4 star product in my opinion, it has some drawbacks but you're also getting what you paid for. In retrospect I probably would have paid extra for the Arctis 5s or 7s. However, I'm disappointed that the microphone stopped working after 2 months and SteelSeries doesn't provide shipping labels to RMA the product. I get that products break sometimes, that's forgiveable, but making your customer pay $7-8+ on an $80 product to ship it back to you when it does with no reimbursement options seems a little cheap.

    Outstanding Headset

Just purchased the Arctis 3 based on a recommendation from a Blue Shirt...couldn't be happier with it. I have headset and mic jacks on the front of my new Dell computer that I wanted to take advantage of for gaming. The Arctis 3 plugs right in with the provided cables. The cables are nice and long so I can feed them behind my desk and up the top. The sound on these cans is amazing. They have a solid build quality, they don't look all cheesy like most other "gaming" headsets and they are probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned...even more so than my beloved Sennheisser Momentum 2s. The retractable mic is great and people that I play games with tell me that my voice is crystal clear. I also installed the SteelSeries Engine 3 software that you can download (on Windows 10) and it's been working flawlessly. I highly recommend these headphones.

Previously, I used Beats Studio 2 as my gaming headset. The audio was amazing but the problems I had was 1. the microphone and 2. the comfort. So I decided to try out the Arctis 3. The comfort is Definitely a lot better. The microphone is crystal clear as advertised. But the audio is not as clear and sounds a bit tinny. The low end lacks a bit but the highs are there. Not sure if I am going to be keeping these headphones or returning them for another pair

I got this for my xbox one. It looks great and doesn't look childish. It was either these or the Artics 5 for a few bucks more. But since I dont PC game at all I went with the 3's. The sound is ok right now. Im still trying to tinker with the "Sound Engine" on the computer. However, when changine the settings I hear 0 difference. I am not sure if its because the only way to connect to the computer is through the "analog" headphone jack or not. If anybody know if I am doing anything wrong please let me know. I will call their support line later this week to see if there is anything else i can try. Probably should have gone for the 5's to get the usb cable. Atleast that way id know it was directly connected to the PC. As of right now the headphones sound hollow. Try before you buy.

The headset is super comfortable both on head and on ears and I can wear it for hours on end. Which is unusual since I wear glasses and usually after an hour or two it starts to hurt and I have to take headphones off.
