Wow!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best headset I have ever tried. It sounds amazing for games and music. It sounds better than my dad's $400 headsets. And the mic quality was so good, my buddies thought I was rigging the system. Buy these immediately.

Outstanding headset...rivals high end headsets
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a wired headset to use when my Astro A50 was charging. I was very surprised at how good they sound and how good the mic works. In some ways this headset Rivals even my Astro A50 headset for its sound quality. I should have expected nothing less from steelseries. As I have bought products from them in the past and was always extremely satisfied. If you are looking for a great headset look no further than the arctis series

Fantastic Headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After replacing my cheap logitech headset this headset is easily one of the best out there. 7.1 surround sound is almost cheating now. The ear cushions are so breathable. The headband steels (pun intended) the show here, it takes the pressure off of my head and disperses it evenly around my head. Couldn't recommend it more

Solid Headset For The Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with the quality and feel of this headset for the $99 price. It fits well and I have no comfort issues for extended amounts of time. I love the retractable mic feature as well. Makes it less awkward when you are using them while you are not gaming or eating.

Meh...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma's, which were decidedly mediocre themselves, gave up the ghost today, and after hours of sifting through headset reviews, I bought these based on the great reviews. I was looking forward to an improved sound experience with these, but now that I have them, I'm definitely not getting what all the fuss is about. The sound is flat and uninspiring regardless of the EQ settings, the bass is pretty much non-existent and no amount of tweaking will rectify it, and the sound has a coming through a tunnel aspect to it (with and without 7.1 DTS turned on). Additionally, after wearing them for a couple of hours, they actually are bugging my ears and head. (I have a normal sized head and ears, and wear a size 7 hat). Searching online about the flat sound issue after buying these today and being seriously unimpressed with the sound, I came across several threads about similar complaints with this headset. Based on recommendations in one of them, I tried uninstalling the SteelSeries software and device drivers, and using Windows default driver's/sound settings and turning on bass boost for punchier sound. It made it more bass heavy, but then they just sounded muddy and thick, with no crispness at all. There doesn't seem to be a sweet spot with these, despite hours of tweaking settings, and installing, uninstalling, and re-installing the software. (Yes I have done the firmware update as well). I'm sorely disappointed with these cans, and befuddled by the great reviews. They aren't comfortable, don't sound good, and I will be taking them back to Best Buy tomorrow, and picking something else.

The Driver is Trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset itself is great but the driver "Steelseries engine 3" is garbage. The equalizer in it doesnt do much at all. I had to find a 3rd party app. After the setup of the 3rd party equalizer the sound was better than I had ever heard out of any of my previous headsets when playing music BUT regardless of whether or not the equalizer is on when I play a game or chat on an application like discord or even simply get a windows notification, the "engine" just stops working at random points and sometimes within minuets of each other. I end up having to restart all applications that use audio in order to get my sound back. Basically this headset is trash for games and chatting but is good for music. The aux cord can be used instead of the "engine" but it doesn't allow the mic to work so you have the USB plugged in regardless if you want both mic and audio. It had potential but I think I am going to have to look elsewhere because I am tired of loosing audio every 1-30mins.

Not even close to the Hyper X Cloud II's
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like these coming from the Hyper X Cloud II's. In terms of aesthetics they look so much better, but they just don't even come close to the sound quality of the Cloud II's. I compared both, playing the same game, the same settings etc... and it's just not close. Even messing around with all the Arctis 5 settings, they're still not close compared to using the Cloud II's out of the box. Long story short, for 2 sets of headphones that cost the exact same, you're doing yourself a disservice buying these.

Using For XBOX ONE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the headset but the mic is extremely sensitive. While in a party chat everyone can hear themselves talk. I have to keep the volume low and constantly mute the unit in hopes no one is picking up the audio out of my headset. Even then it's causing some kind of feedback into everyone else headset. I think it's some connection issue in the Xbox controllers versus this headset. This is a 50/50 recommendation. I have PS4 but I have yet to test them on that console.

Careful comes with irreplaceable cord
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones a month ago and already trash. Bestbuy wont let me return after 14 days. I think my dog must have stepped on the usb cord when it was plugged in and it snapped off. It used to happen a lot with other headphones with no problem headphone jack pops right out. I figured whatever I can just get another cord because it is separate and plugs into the headphones. I had to contact the manufacturer for my problem with no luck steelseries does not sell parts to their products. What a shame these headphones were great but now have to be junked. Why make parts detachable without the ability to be replaced?

Misleading 7.1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not buy this. I am on Xbox One. The title for this says 7.1 surround but once you go into the specs for this it is only 7.1 on PC. Kinda misleading. This should be in the title. Console players be warned you will only get stereo
